They’re turned a corner over the last few months, but they’re still a team full of poor players. Outtara looks decent and they will cause us issues but I just have a feeling we’ll win on Thursday. Is Che fit? Baz; KWP DCC ABK Perraud; Lavia JWP; Walcott Alcaraz Sulemena Adams.
-
In hindsight yes, he was absolutely shattered though. Sure Selles would have preferred to keep him on if he could…

Romeo Lavia - Official: Signs for Not Liverpool

Surely we’d be better off flogging him this summer before City can exercise their buy back? Whether that’s to city or alternative. I do wonder whether City might “pay” us to keep him another season, he’s absolutely ready to move up the table though. -
I’ve seen that before, I’m not sure I’ve ever understood the point in it as it’s bollocks. Better off looking at whoscored who at least rate players of statistical analysis.
-
Selles said he brought on a centre back and went 5 at the back to protect the 2 full backs who were also on yellows at HT. it made sense when you take the emotion out of it, but sadly, it’s probably more the fault of the players who got booked in the first half. KWP’s was never a yellow though
-
Alcaraz was taken off because he’s a hot head and he had been booked. I’d have taken neither off, but you can see why Charly was brought off.
-
Most of our squad is shit, and don’t get me wrong I’m not his biggest fan, but in a game like that, he’s absolutely fine. He played well, and put a proper shift in. It’s when you expect him to break down a lower side at home, he’s a problem. I’ve always said, that in reality you need at least 2 more attacking players on the pitch than him,
-
For all those slating Elyounoussi, I thought he had a decent game tonight. Checked on WhoScored and our third best “performance” behind Alcaraz and Walcott,
-
Thought he was decent tonight until the key moment when he palms the ball straight back into the danger area. He’s not good enough yet, despite him showing a lot of positives this season. Criminal he’s had the whole season as first choice IMO,
-
Came here expecting ppl to be giving Selles a bit of praise for getting a result against the league leaders. Some big expectations on his shoulders given what he has at his disposal. Obviously frustrating to not get the win, but to get us into that position playing some decent front footed stuff, I think he deserves some credit personally.
-
Absolutely Superb tonight.

Was going to go to Forest and Brighton, now not sure I’ll do either. Sick of this dicking about with games. Feels like we’ve barely had any Saturday 3pm games this season.
-
Biggest issue is, the players are shit. We did ok in the first half, we had a few decent chances and should have taken the lead. But as soon as they scored, our players gave up. Let’s be honest, Selles is only the manager because they can’t afford to pay a new manager compensation if they had to sack him this summer too. I dread to think how much money they’re paying / paid Ralph and Jomes, but at least Ralph was worth it.
-
Thought he did ok earlier in the season on the left of a front 3, he is utter garbage though.
-
4-3-3 / 4-5-1 for me. Is Che fit? only chance we have of getting a result IMO. Bazunu; KWP ABK Salisu Perraud; Lavia JWP Alcaraz Sulemena Adams AArmstrong Can't be any worse that usual
-
Onuachu is absolutely hopeless. His touch is embarrassing, and doesn’t look like he’s capable of making a 5 yard pass. I’m all for lobbing him on towards the end, and sticking some balls in the box, but I cannot believe we spent £18m on the bloke. He’s worse than Carrillo.
-
Couldn’t give a shit as neither do the players, probably won’t even watch it. Sick of this useless group.
-
All fair points, but only a couple of years ago we hit the top of the premier league under Ralph with largely the same group. For reference this was the side that beat Newcastle to put us top...Mccarthy; KWP Bednarek Vestergaard Stephens; Djenepo Romeu JWP Armstrong; Walcott Adams. Only 4 of those players now not available for us, and I'd struggle to accept that you wouldn't have Bazunu over Macca, ABK over Vestergaard and Perraud over Stephens at LB. Only difference really is Romeu and an in form Armstrong. Of course Ings was a key part that season, and Bertrand was also playing, but you can see the pattern...experience. And messy systems / confidence and patterns of play. We had a proper drilled way of playing then, now we struggle to get up the pitch.

It’s not that he cba or he’s a wanker or he’s gone on strike. I would hazard a guess that he has a move lined up, and Selles is questioning his commitment. From what I’ve been told, he’s been nothing but professional, and one of the best trainers in the club. It’s interesting time for him that’s for sure, but he won’t want to be playing in the championship, that’s for sure. And I don’t blame him.

Well - I think it sounds like the following will go: Walcott - Contract Elyounoussi - Contract AMN - Contract Caballero - Contract Lavia - Sale JWP - Sale ABK - Sale Salisu - Sale Adams - Sale KWP - Sale DCC - Sale Orsic - Sale That would leave 18 players, plus academy players. A couple of additions and we should be able to win a lot of game in that league, but its still going to be a case of not being able to create / score. Mccarthy Bazunu Lyanco Bree Perraud Livramento Larios Bednarek Aribo Stuart Armstrong Djenepo Sulemena Edozie Alcaraz Diallo Adam Armstrong Onuachu Mara Could easily see Alcaraz, Sulemena, Onuachu, Bednarek, all go as well. The squad is so bloated, we have to have a clear out regardless. I'd love for us to keep Che Adams tbh, but think he'll go to a promoted side, or another bottom half prem side.
-
He's crap, get rid in the summer for a cut fee. Absolute waste of money. The fact we managed to buy a bunch of players in January, none of which are key starters. To give us a chance of staying up, we needed a striker in on Jan 1st who was going to score 10 goals. Onuachu hasn't even scored once. I'm looking forward to the clear out in the summer.
-
I’m struggling to give a shit, however, I missed both the City and Spurs games, so looking forward to being back at St Mary’s, been a while! Let’s face it, we’re pretty much down, so might as well go into this game and have a go, it doesn’t really matter if we lose. Id like to see Djenepo given a chance. He’s done ok this season, and was decent in some of our wins this season. Bazunu; KWP Bednarek ABK Perraud; Lavia JWP; Djenepo Alcaraz Sulemena; Adams Assuming the above are fit. I’d like to see Salisu back in alongside ABK, but seems unlikely we’ll see him again unfortunately.
-
I think they probably “gambled” on going up, similar to Villa in recent years. Bournemouths finances always intrigue me, given the size of the club and how much they spend on transfer fees.
-
Why would Bednarek be out injured? Just played in the 2 internationals ? Or did he come off injured in one of them ?
