My understanding ( and I may well be wrong) is that lallana and lovren did not officially put in a transfer request, they just kicked up a fuss through the media. They therefore were still entitled to 'loyalty ' bonuses I.e they were financially rewarded when they left us. I would like to think that it was taken into account in the negotiations with Liverpool but to be honest, the way we roll over every time someone sniffs Around one of our players , I wouldn't be surprised if we just paid it up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

P.s. Just checked the squad for Watford game. 2 academy players in it... Target and jwp. Probably the worst 2 players on the day. #thesouthamptonway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No idea if there's any truth in this or not, but bottom line... Last 3 yrs we've sold our best players when fans thought we were 1 or 2 signings away from really competing with the big boys. Instead, we've sold our biggest assets and had to rebuild. By luck rather than judgment we've slightly improved final league position. Let's be honest.. No way will Liverpool and Chelsea finish below us this year...we will definitely finish lower in the league. And that's the crux. For all the rhetoric, Les et al aren't really aiming for champions league.. They don't dream big enough. Get a manager who will start jwp every wk and he'll tick les's boxes. Teams with ambition keep their best players and bring one or two in. We're not in that bracket. I've renewed my season ticket and will sing all game to get behind the team but be realistic. I'll be happy with avoiding relegation and taking one of the cups seriously. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just back from the game. Sending off actually galvanised the team and fans alike. Atmosphere was great for the last 30 minutes. And funnily enough, I didn't think we were ever going to concede. Sending off looked like a red at the time- yet to see it on tv. Vvd gets better with every game, he's growing in confidence and starting to step out with the ball as he did at Celtic. Difficult to pick a mom today.. The whole back 5 were awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Home game vs West Ham moved to Saturday 6th February 5.30pm
wessex saint replied to wessex saint's topic in The Saints
Not really blaming the club. It's just frustrating. Why didn't they just move it initially to Saturday 5.30 to avoid this situation? And didn't see the club announce potential further change to fixture.. I'm a season ticket holder so don't tend to pick up on that level of detail when kick off times are changed as I'm not buying a specific ticket for that game. Ah well.. Better pay closer attention in future b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I've just read that if West ham v Liverpool cup game goes to a replay, then our league game will change from the Monday back to the Saturday at 5.30pm. So, basically just under a week's notice. Takes the absolute p##s. I've now made plans for the Saturday which means I can't go if it gets switched back. Given the only reason it was changed originally was to cash in on the TV revenue, I assume the club will do the honorable thing and refund my money? Yeah right...

To be fair I'm listening on radio London and they did slate our defence for their 2nd. Said there was no way palace would concede a goal like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Making this a jolly boys pre xmas all dayer. From what I remember there aren't many decent boozers near selhurst. So where's everyone going? Clapham junction? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are some fans who make an effort with new songs, usually started at away games but then it seems impossible to get it going at home. Vitesse game was where the wanyama mighty Kenyan song really took off.. 20 mins in the 2nd half sung loud and well. Tried a few times at home and it's just abysmal. Sung too fast. Etc. Not helped by the fact he's not playing particularly well right now. And we might only have a month, 6 at best to enjoy singing it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Christ this is tedious. 1. Season ticket holders have priority (and yes I am a season ticket holder) 2. There have been one or two sell outs so far this season but only close to the day of the game.. If you're a member and could be bothered you could have been to every game at SMS this season. 3. Of course it's right that ST holders get first dibs on their seat for cup games. I pay best part of 1.5 k for my 2 tickets up front. That should entitle me to at least buy my seat for cup games. 4. There has always been 5 fold the amount of members to seats available that's because members pick and choose a few games each season. .. It makes economic sense Ergo I'm a better fan than you [emoji6][emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree with most of what you say, but remember we did have 2 efforts cleared off the line by defenders with the goalie beaten we DID create. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Vvd was awesome. Didn't lose a challenge. Some silky football at times from all. Apart from vvd, pelle and tadic shone. Looked in control all game. Happy days!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Biggest mistake was not subbing wanyama. He was on a final warning and couldn't go in for any 50/50 for the 2nd half for fear of getting sent off . We therefore lost our control in midfield. Should have been Romeu for wanyama all day long. Clasie should never have been brought in given the game situation. As much as I love kelvin he needs to hang up his boots. The panic in defence was obvious as he continually failed to claim balls in the 6 yard box. Inability to kick the ball which is simply not good enough at this level. Leicester deserved at least a point but if ste had been in the sticks I think we'd have probably hung in to 3 pts. Wrong decisions by RK. Still.. He got it right v Chelsea and will get it right again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone know what dates the first round will be on?

I watched back my recording. It's amazing what they can do with the mics.. You can barely hear us. I was in kingsland north and it sounded incredibly loud! Sadly, not worth posting it up. Still, at least we saw him throw his toys out the pram when we politely enquired about the state of his personal finances [emoji106]

Anyone any idea on likely attendance today? I assume as CL hopes have all but gone and it's only hull, that it will be nowhere near a sellout.

Cheers cat. May see you there.

Any news on boozers? Coming into London Waterloo and would be good to have a couple in a pub with fellow saints.

Correct - there is also a dress code which is smart casual - no trainers or sports wear (or replica tops)
