  1. Surprised that there hasn't been more discontent about this. The way I understand it is that virgin have subsidised away tickets so that every single away fan has paid 20 quid. All saints fans have had no subsidy and st holders in equivalent parts of the ground pay 30 quid ( me included). Granted.. they have subsidised away tickets for 2? Away games this season, but bottom line is they have unequivocally looked after away fans rather than saints fans. It's obviously part of their marketing strategy to try and flog a few more subscriptions but it leaves a really sour taste in my mouth. Bottom line.. they sponsor saints. Should we not be the beneficiaries of any reduced tickets? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I agree. Way too loud. Have to shout to my lad sat next to me to make myself heard. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Ah. Didn't realise that. Thought they were up to date. Thought it was a bit odd hence why I posted it. Still.. yoshi has got to be quicker than zlatan so all good [emoji6] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Just read something online. Through optastats they have recorded fastest players on the pitch this season. At joint eighth is........ maya!! But the fastest of all is .... Shane. Food for thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Poor poor system. Should definitely be ST holders first, then members/ people with customer numbers based on number of home and always. Still... all this debate and it looks as though members who have been to 3/4 will get a ticket. Therefore I think the vast majority of fans ( who have 'supported' the club this season) who want to go will get one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. There was 1 positive from today. Did you all get the code for 50% off dominos that was on the hoardings? Result!! We have some quality players, the problem is how we set up tactically. Essentially we don't put any pressure on opposing teams until they're 30 yards out. This means they have the lions share of possession. You need to have control of the ball to create and score. I know final stats say we had 55% possession but I would guess that at 60 mins we probably had closer to 40%. I understand defending deep and trying to hit on the counter away at anfield but at home to West Ham? Thoroughly bemused. When we do win the ball back, we're so deep that we hoof it up to our 1 player on the halfway line who is immediately surrounded by 3 or 4 and we lose possession again. They controlled the first hour and then relaxed once they were 3 up. This is by far the worst we've looked since league 1 days. Puel is well out of his league ( although not helped by the Mickey Mouse transfer policy) I really fear we're in a relegation scrap. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Snodgrass will score. Guaranteed. However, puel will work magic with manolo boufal and jay rod ripping em apart. 4-1 saints. #wecandream Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Look . I'm not a bed wetter or a happy clapper. ( I know this a big surprise to you all but most fans are like me ) What is the Southampton way?? I watched the documentary and it basically said. All the teams play the same system..4.2.3.1 Puel has obviously changed it. Are all the youth teams now playing 'suck em up and hope to hell we've got enough pace to do them on the counter?' 9. Clubs like saints only really have 2 genuine chances of winning anything.. efl and fa cup. Given that we won't make Europe or get relegated it's an absolute disgrace that we've prioritised Swansea away over this game. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. The good news is I put 20 quid on arsenal once I saw the line ups. Walcott is also in my fantasy team. In other news, all the positivity from Wednesday has been blown away by the bizarre rotation tonight. Baffling. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Has their keeper had to make a save yet? genuinely asking. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. This. Puels obsession with rotation is an absolute joke. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Don't worry. We've rested players so we're guaranteed 3 Pts midweek and a couple of million extra come the end of the season. Much more important than trying to win the fa cup. [emoji17] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. A couple of million less for every place lower in the league we finish. Personally would rather look back in 20 years and look back fondly at the season when we won both cups, rather than how we finished 11th rather than 9th and be chuffed at the extra 4m profit we made that season. 15. Good call. Let's just take 3.5k to Wembley to prove a point! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I now have to work this Sunday meaning I can't make the game. Is this the sort of thing you mean?
  17. Incredible wasn't it? I've vented my frustration recently about how we play, but puel' s tactics are perfect against a side that has more possession and tries to attack. Outwitted klopp as far as I'm concerned, and, after the goal, saw an intensity and level that we've struggled to reach in recent times. To a man, they played their frickin socks off. Not picking anyone out tonight. The pessimist in me says those missed chances will cost us. If we stop em from turning us over in the 2nd leg I'll be amazed. And elated! 18. Ahh!! I know nothing other than A) we need another CB whether fonte goes or not B) we also need some natural attacking flair within the midfield 3. Having 3 that keep the ball by passing sideways/backwards is killing us.. don't create enough C) a natural striker. Charlie is a natural goal scorer but does not have either the pace or ability to be a target man. You need one of those traits to succeed in the premier league. Anyway.. there's my shopping list for success. Over to you les [emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Can anyone remember the last time he stopped a shot on target that wasn't straight at him? Not necessarily blaming him today, but he barely stops anything, or even gets close! He has previously been forgiven for his lack of ability to dominate his box, or even kick straight, as he appeared to be a decent shot stopper. Now he's lost that element of his game, I really am wondering what he brings. Its clear the back 4 have zero confidence in him. Every game there are examples where he should be coming off his line to claim a through ball- yesterday it was a ball that dropped over martinas shoulder. He beckoned for Forster to come and claim it. He didn't... martina ends up having to smack it into the stand and then then martina shows his frustration towards him. Worrying signs. 20. Given myself a few hours to compose myself before posting. Uninspiring, boring, negative football yet again. I do blame puel because tactically we are not competing. The lack of moment up front when we do finally get in the final third is incredible. How many times yesterday did tadic/boufal etc look up and see statues? No options hence the ponderous play and ultimately go sideways or backwards. I've been a saints fan for 35 yrs and a season ticket holder for a lot of them. I'm starting to wonder if I'll renew. I'm a realist.. I don't expect to win every game but I would like a crumb of entertainment. Right now I'm frankly bored. The complete lack of atmosphere this season compared to the last few suggests I'm not the only one. Oh well.. see you all back down there for the semi where I'll start again with renewed, misplaced optimism. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. What would we do without the hilarious Turkish on this forum? Does anyone know if he actually goes to any games? Anyway... We will get spanked by the scousers and we have no chance of finishing in the top 6 so forget Europe for a while. We need a goal scorer.. imo we miss pelle more than we miss mane. As much as I love Austin he's simply not mobile enough to be a top striker. Please please buy a striker in the window. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Ok.. read all the recent threads on atmosphere blah blah. I've just watched back a load of YouTube videos of saints fans in Milan. We were frickin brilliant in the San Siro and last night for the final 20 mins. I've seen the internet fans whining that we sang about Pompey too much. All I can say is that if you're a passionate fan, you end up singing whatever comes your way. If you'd like to actually come to a game and have a say in what is sung then good luck. You have to be one of those random people whose prepared to throw your head back.. start singing.. and hope to **** everyone joins in. Not easy. And bearing in mind right now you can't find your way past the turnstile then double good luck!! Anyway.. back to the vids. Yes... we sing OWTS way too much and need a better repertoire. I've no idea how we achieve this, but we do get songs like Rickie goal machine .. dusan whoaa. Etc going , there is a way. Best away support at SMS for years has been Man Utd and their inventiveness with songsbis second to none. They hand out song sheets. Sounds cringey I know but **** it works ! Ok.. rant over!! Cheers [emoji6] Thoughts?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. A request from an out of tower.... Heading down tonight for the dub pistols gig. Any suggestions on a half decent pub nearby that will let us in after 11pm and doesn't have a dress code?( will be in trainers) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Cheers all. 7k ain't bad! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Is there an update on how many we finally sold for inter? Obviously not sold out from comments above, but anyone know exactly how many? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
