  1. For many many years in Britain we have driven on the left of the road - now we have to drive on whats left of the road. The state of the roads themselves has deteriorated rapidly over the last 5 years. Potholes are more like craters. When they 'fix' the roads they put a thin veneer of tarmac down that washes away with the next light misting of rain. I'm not a biker but I should imagine each journey is now like a game of Russian roulette - get a wheel in one of those holes and its goodnight vienna. The other thing that bugs me is the road tax and its link to engine size. There was already a perfectly senisble 'green' tax on people with big engines or those that drove thousands of miles - it was the tax on fuel. If you used more you paid more tax by having to buy more fuel. If you had a tiny engined car that you drove to the shops once a year you paid very little - the perfect solution. yes I have a stupid middle aged crisis car, but I don't do many miles a year - it has had 4 previous owners and ecologically I'm sure it would make more sense to keep it than to scrap it and buy a hybrid
  2. he was the turning point our first season back up , after our 'record breakingly bad' start - he came back from injury and it all clicked. He is a solid, consistent english player and I hope he stays. If we are in any form of european football next year we will need a bigger squad to cope with fixtures and as such I hope he is still here
  3. Air Florida strip is still my favourite of all time
  4. di Cannio
  5. Chuffed Jensen will be driving again - still think there is a lot more to come from him. That force India is better but its still pug ugly - the front splitters just look mental - like an an attatchment to a hair clipper
  6. He has been a solid dependable workhorse for us. An integral part of many of our fine performances - yes we have similar players and he is now seen TBH as 'back up' but we need back up of his quality especially if we are in europe next year
  7. He gets better and better, fantastic football brain and rarely makes the wrong choice. My favourite CB since Killer. Dropping from Chapionship heights to depths of league 1 was a massive statement and I remember at the time getting that little bubble of excitement that something massive was about to happen. He, like many of the other players always refer to 'we' and I love that. I get the feeling he is one of the players at the 'heart' of the club - like Kelvin. Next for the banner? - there are a LOT of contenders - its a great time to be a saint
  8. Utter bargain , and I really hope he stays
  9. Really hope Ryan stays - he has been a fantastic surprise this season - didn't see that coming at all and much respect to our scouting network. he seems happy and by all accounts has been fed up with being passed from pillar to post by Chelsea - not sure what agreements were made pre loan - does anyone have any ideas - was it a loan with option to buy? He was great with my kid before the fiorst home match of the season - seemend really happy and settled here already.
  10. This is Chiles abuse , we live in a sick sick world
  11. Can't stop smiling every time I read threads like this - just can't belive we are having serious debates about CL rather than championship. never thought I'd see it in my lifetime.
  12. Anyone happen to know if there are still bar tickets avaliable - still at work so not had a chance to call
  13. MK Snap - done and done on all 7 of my email accounts
  14. Gutted, my son asked if we could go this weekend as his club has been cancelled and he loved the last match - logged on just as it was selling out. are their age rules for the bar hospitality ? is it suitable for a 12 year old ?
  15. He would be my bet to be the next player up on our banner next to Rickie
  16. No , my dad didn't feel it was right to talk about his injury with him . Thought he would be royally ****ed off with fans talking about nothing else and felt it wasn't really his business as they were in a hospital. Said he was a really nice chap. Surprisingly as they were talking Morgan came out of one of the rooms and waved a hello.
  17. Sure its been mentioned but the tweet he posted on Saturday was really quite touching - had some nice replies from Saints fans as well. Clearly we made a big impact on him as well as 'the club'
  18. Draper tools I think was on that one - looked quite cool at the time but blue always feels wrong
  19. My dad saw him at the Nuffield last week and had a chat with him. apparently when he went into see the consultant he wasn't even walking that well - sure it will be quite some time still. Poor kid I do feel sorry for him. the way we are playing at the moment would suit him down to the ground
  20. Fonte Pretty sure he dropped a division to be with us. I'm mates with a palarse fan who couldn't believe he made the drop. Continues to be an integral part of our defence and the longer he plays the more I'm impressed by him . He has an amazing football brain and makes the right choices time and time again. It would be easy to say Lambert. But as Adkins used to say strikers win games, defenders win promotions
  21. sorry only just read this and now have 2nd degree burns due to the amount of coffee that has come out my nose golden post
  22. I would absolutely love Pelle to get a couple - he has worked his arse off and come painfully close. Just get this feeling if he can get back into the habit the floodgates will open
  23. Just so proud of the manner in which we are doing this, a spine of home grown talent with a phenominal level of togetherness and belief. Most other teams who have flirted with the top spots have done so by spending money they havent got on 'names' . What is exciting is that our model for success is sustainable. Was also quite touched by Nigel Adkins tweet before the game, wishing the travelling fans well and using the hashtag #togetherasone . Not sure you get ex managers communicating like that with many clubs. Loved the yellow - taken right back to that day at cardiff
  24. Me too. I'd have 2 for my kids as well Maybe we'll just end up getting the ones from yesterday
  25. Whats Dexter Blackstock upto these days ?
