  1. Tell me more Been very excited about this since it was posted on here. Some deeply happy memories of that place please tell me it has some of the magic it used to have. In a world of globalised homogenisation we need more places like this. Derek indeed has always been a legend - what did he play?
  2. Loved Aliens , maybe even more than Alien others were awful. Is District 9 any good? - missed it due to offspring
  3. This used to be a joke 20 + years ago how the hell has he escaped conviction up until now?
  4. Looks for the big flapping hands and the adams apple
  5. I would assunme that the poor girls was either a) on a bet b) feeling charitable or c) soliciting
  6. Once in a while is fine - not sure about the benefits of the additives that they profess to have for 'cleaning' etc
  7. Yup my RX8 only ever drank the normal ron . Remeber that our fuel has a higher ron than most countries anyway. I do occasionally give my 5litre supercharged V8 a drink of the good stuff, but I've not noticed a lot of difference truth be told. Think the best i can get round here is the Tesco one bizarrely which is 100 I think
  8. Short skirt please. My wife wore one to our first date and I was besotted from the get go. Classy and sexy at the same time. Not a funny answer but an answer

  15. Worst episode of TNG was up the long ladder gesh that was painful. Ashamed to say its taken me this long to watch Sunshine - great film Fairhaven was another bloody awful couple of shows from ST:Voy - always skip them now when we atch the box sets
  16. That is just awful
  17. Not sure why I felt compelled to take a photo of the place that day. Seeing it like that pulled at something deep inside me. Probably pretty pathetic but it was so inextricably linked with a time in my life that was carefree and happy. I loved the Canute as well, whats that now ? a bloody estate agents or something?
  18. Took my son to the first home game of the season and was gutted when we walked passed the old place boarded up. Took a photo on my mobile and proceeded to bore the brains out of him with tales of spit sawdust and singing until you were hoarse. I had feared it was the sort of place that would never rise again, lost to the mists of time and legend whilst wetherspoons and other chained behemoths forced their globalised , homogenised crap down peoples throats. I have forgotten some bloody great times in that place. I'' try and upload the pic via tapatalk if I can
  19. I've gotten a lot older fatter and less coordinated since I last danced on a table there. Always used to go there after having a skinful in the Canute so memories have been a little hazy at times. I have a distant foggy memory of only having bottles in there - was that right ? So chuffed that the guitarist ended up as the landlord. If it really does go back to its former glory it gives me hope in a world where people asking for a decent pub are being told to go to a Weatherspoons
  20. yessiree, as noone had mentioned it on here I was starting to wonder if I'd dreamed the whole thing. What a fabulous establishment. I assume its nothing like it was now ?
  21. I went to St Marys for the first time in ages this year and walked past teh Frog and Frigate - sad to see it boarded up - real sawdust on the floor pub, no chairs and blokeplaying guitar in the corner behind a wooden cage fun nights Don't even get me started on the loss of the Canute
  22. too.... many....jokes..... mind...struggling... not...to go.......for....obvious...
  23. To be fair in the 80's I can remember us singing about portsmouth fans as bing 'scummers' or was that just a dream I had once
  24. Scum rises to the top whilst the pondlife scuttle about in the depths eeking out a meagre existence on the detritus of the world. Scummer I shall remain in that case
