I'd be ok with Crouch involvement to some degree, not necessarily as chairman though. Not sure why the luvvies have a problem with a man that actually puts his money where his mouth is, unlike their hero.
That is as I also saw it. I reckoned the ref bottled the chance to award Saints a free kick with at least another minute to play but the pitch invasion happened some moments after he blew for full time.
Yeah, ref blew for time just after Wotton was assaulted but hardly anyone, players included, seemed to notice for a while. Ramshackle end to a pretty crap St Mary's season I suppose.
A bit of calm reflection is called for. There was no riot, just loads of fans on the pitch and some of the chav section that seem to have attached themselves to Saints doing what chavs do on any Saturday of the year. Pretty pathetic IMO but it's simply a reflection of the make up of British society. I was actually more concerned for the safety of Wotton who was lying badly hurt while the invasion took place.
For what it's worth I'd be happy for much of the crowd to get on the pitch every game if it allows me the sort of quick exit from ground and car park and back up the A34 that I enjoyed yesterday.
Why on earth did you allow that divisive fool back in? I said a year ago that this would happen and here we are. Just goes to show that folks with pounds in their pockets don't necessarily have wisdom.
Ticket purchase completed.
I suppose a lot will depend on the result against Wednesday. A win and I'd expect a full house with a lot of tension. A defeat and maybe not so many enjoying a bit of gallows humour.
Missed chances, missed chances, missed chances! So very, very, very familiar.
I think we know what will happen as we approach the final few minutes, don't we?
Early goal to take a 1-0 lead as Euell surprises us by getting one on target, followed by 1-way traffic as Saints come under pressure from long balls into the box. Repeat of the first game last season I reckon. It'll finish 1-4 followed by a wailing and gnashing of teeth I fear.
It would seem that there are still a few that are on a Rupert retainer; or that, strangely, simply prefer to tug the forelock despite all the evidence of incompetence.
I went for a sit in the sun after Charlton scored.
Saints equalised while I was soaking the rays.
I pop in to check the score and Charlton get a pen.
I'll go back and sit in the sun.
