  1. I've read the book and can only congratulate Dave Jones for his resolve in fighting back against what has turned into a modern day witch hunt. I ask myself what on earth goes through the minds of those such as plod, the CPS and the child abuse industry in general. They seem to see paedos lurking everywhere which perhaps tells us more about the perversions inside their own minds actually. There have been many more people without the funds and support that Dave had who have been ruined by this sort of nonsense. So look out because you could be next.
  2. 3-0? Really?
  3. Well at least it's nice to be talking about football again.
  4. Happy to add my own small consideration.
  5. Still conceding plenty of late goals then. Something there to be looked at by the new man in charge.
  6. You have proved my point.
  7. Some might find him interesting but I wouldn't have used that word myself. Tedious, contrary or narcissistic might more easily fit the bill. Frankly, if that's the way he holds conversations then I'd be surprised if people don't find somewhere else to be whenever he's around. A good opinionated exchange of views can be a great way to spend an hour or two but most probably know when to move onto something else.
  8. My last one on this. No doubt you consider that I'm some bleedin' heart liberal with comments like that but far from it. What I do object to is people getting killed for no particular reason other than to spare the blushes of some politico or other. And, yes, that includes those on the "other side" as you call it, many of whom are civilians or "collateral damage" as no doubt you'd refer to them as. The "enemy" are, on the whole, actually Afghans living in their own country whereas our boys are not of course. Now I don't know about you but if this country was being bombed and shot at by a foreign army trying to instill its morals and customs on me then I'd like to think that I'd be doing my best to make life uncomfortable for them. Perhaps others think the same. That is all.
  9. Nope. There are probably a whole host of reasons, one of which will more than likely be to serve the country. Others might be to escape the dole, see the world, kick some arabs or play with guns but I doubt whether many would have thought that being blown up in far away ditches, while politicians safely back at home keep changing the story, was part of the attraction. Maybe I'm just a bit more cynical about the propaganda that's fed to us.
  10. No problem with people turning out to support those that have been sent to do an impossible job by the cowardly, lying scum that infest our government but I do get a bit incomfortable with jingoistic flag waving. Of course it's open to question whether they are there for "Queen and country" or more likely as arse-wipes for the Yanks so I'll leave that to one side. All I will say is that if you support this sort of nation building then be prepared for plenty more casualties as well as large numbers of p!ssed off locals that don't take too kindly to being blown up, tortured and shot at by foreigners. Apologies in advance if my thoughts cause any offence.
  11. I'd prefer it if he stayed. The bloke's got talent and a reasonable football brain but he lacks physical strength, witness his weak shooting. If he had any sense he'd look to be staying this season and building those muscles in readiness for a push with Saints in the Championship next season.
  12. I'd also like to thank Nicola Cortese of Banque Heritage who led the negotiations to a successful conclusion. I had assumed that this person would be a stunning and blond amazon but it turns out he isn't, not that it matters of course.
  13. Tomorrow, next week, end of this week, soon! Just how many more times are these well known phrases and sayings going to be heard with relation to Saints buyers? I think I'll go away and do something else. Please let me know if anything happens. Cheers!
  14. I come on for a quick look to check if there's any news and I see rumours of Lowe about the place. Surely he wouldn't but the bloke is a masochistic narcissist so the very fact that his name has popped up gives me the willies. Will somebody tell me this is a wind up?
  15. You mean nobody is ITK? Another Friday comes and goes then.
  16. Aaaaarrrrggghhhhh!
  17. I sense the mother of all Fridays lurking just around the corner.
  18. Is that GM's assistant doing the acronym research or has the man himself allocated some time in his busy schedule to do a spot of googling? The heat is getting to me. Need to go to the pub. Cheers!
  19. To be honest I did think it a bit odd given his reputation for having a big gob and head but the words used at the beginning made me think it might just be what he really thought. From what you say he's just a lying ***t that can't be believed whatever he utters. FWIW I do take most things uttered with a pinch of salt but if someone tells me something "sincerely" then what should I think? Anyway, it must be interesting to go through life not believing a word that's said to you. Did you believe your Mum when she told you who your Dad was? Cheers!
  20. So are we supposed to believe that when GM says "in all sincerity" that is not what he means at all? In fact he's not being sincere but is actually taking the p!ss? If that were to be the case then I'd advise anyone dealing with this "businessman" to understand that his word is definitely not his bond. Unless, of course, he really is being sincere but ISTM that nobody can take him seriously. Now I normall take what people say at face value and, going by some of the cynisism around here, that's obviously a failing of mine in some eyes but if it's a sign of how business is conducted these days then no wonder the country is in the sh!t. Cheers!
  21. When somebody uses those words I don't expect the following comments to be "ironic" or "taking the p!ss". Maybe these days it's expected that people tell lies and perhaps I'm a little but gullible but the word "sincerity" still means something to me.
  22. Well I never! Adult behaviour breaking out on this board and I can do no more than to welcome it. Apologies can be difficult and it takes guts to stand up there in the way GM has. I applaud him for it. An apology also asks for a response and I think I've seen a suitable one here. This club needs to come together, shake off the 10 points penalty and fight back together. Hopefully we're now seeing the start of Saints revival. Together! (Even with Sundance, Nineteen or whoever you are). Unity provides strength.
  23. Put that pen to paper and hand over the money. Then perhaps we can look forward to the coming season.
  24. I stopped watching at half time thinking that 3-0 was comfortable. I guess the 2nd half was just like watching Saints then.
