A 2nd would have been nice. Would probably have put Reading right out of it.
Expect Royals to come out with some gusto after half time. See that off and then their heads'll drop once they concede another to Saints.
It has happened.
1997 - Sunderland 40
1998 - Bolton 40
2003 - West Ham 42
A couple of wins and a sprinkling of draws will do the job for Saints quite easily I reckon.
Nice to get to half time with a lead. Good stuff from Saints but just for once I'd like to see us popping the goals in that our play deserves.
Don't ya just know that Ba will come on and score at least one.
What with Wigan gaining points with dodgy tackles, handballs and cosy refs, while Saints seem to enjoy throwing away points from winning positions I can actually believe it will be tighter than we hope.
Thinking back, Rickie was a whisker away from giving us a 3-2 lead. Their 2nd was plainly offside while we gifted them their other goals.
It was a game we could easily have got something from but it doesn't help if you have to play the ref as well.
Just one of those days. If we're back to our best on Saturday it'll all be forgotten.
More points dropped from a winning position.
I thought we looked ok 2nd half, certainly better then the first, but an arguable penalty and a farce own goal screwed us.
It just makes Saturday's game a little more important.
We started the game brightly but just got worse as the half went on.
Mind you the ref has decided not to give us anything today. Their 2nd was a joke. Should have been a free kick to Saints and was also offside.
This could be one of those days.
