Two games in hand are almost worthless for a team that hasn't won a game since who knows when. Just look at the gap that is opening. Do we have the players to close it up? I don't think so.
Other teams must look at Saints as a pretty easy 3 points these days. Today's games started to move against us but the only team that can send us down are Saints themselves in the end. By the end of this weekend we'll be looking adrift.
Lack of pace & strength basically. I don't think our lads are fit enough to win tackles or to cover when the ball is lost.
Talking of corners, when did it become fashionable to not leave a player on the half way line when defending corners?
That too. Saints used to pass it endlessly back and sideways while ignoring the lone striker but now the ball just gets handed directly to the opposition.
Two up front is only a problem if you continuously & needlessly hand possession to the opposition and then don't have the pace or desire to cover the endless mistakes.
I'll say it again. Saints players don't look fit or strong enough for the Premiership and life in the Championship will be even worse for a team that bottles 50-50 challenges.
Saints defending worse than ever. Commentators are going to be in tears if Wigan don't win this.
Getting to half time without conceding is a bonus. Now let's go on and win this.
Failure to get 3 points from those "winnable" home games in the first part of the season is what is hurting us badly now. Fact is our fate is still in our own hands - at the moment. West Ham game looks very important.
Well he seems civilised and well-mannered, something we don't see all that often in football, but probably as good an example of the Peter Principle as you are likely to find.
When it comes to the next manager Saints are most definitely in the position of beggar rather than chooser. Anyone out there expecting a dream appointment is likely to be disappointed.
