  3. After witnessing the nightmare down there in 2005 I have always felt I have to be there to see it put right. Living in Singapore my journey to the game begins Thursday night from Changi Airport. This game is such a massive deal for anyone who was there last time. Would be interested to know of anyone covering some serious milage to get to this one...who is traveling in from afar?
  4. dont usually post here but this subject really rang a bell. i used to follow england religiously, it was such a big deal. i remember like yesterday the pride i used to feel when fringe england players from sfc got the call up - stevie williams, danny wallace etc, it was such a big deal. i was so upset when wrighty broke his leg in the semi and couldnt go to mexico. no i am 100% at the point where i would rather wales beat them. i just can not in any shape or form support those afore mentioned players whether they were english born or not. i remember looking through the starting team in SA and remember thinking there is not one person i had anything but disdain for....thug, cheat, criminal, adulterer...you just couldnt find one player that was worthy of cheering in. I am extremely proud of england, what great country, especially by historical standards, but the individuals in that team in no way represented anything i would support. as for the erikkson years and the fa at that time- how can any decent person put their support behind that. i think there are many who are immensely proud of englands overwhelming history and achievements as a country, but as with the current football team, are upset by what it is right now. blame money, sky, the clubs etc all you want, being a total c is never acceptable.
  5. The minute the fixture list comes out two return flights will be booked....I need to witness the last two 4-1's be put right. btw anyone know if CCC games are shown in Singapore?
  6. easy son, 37 aint old....i was 10 at the time - all the scrapping on the pitch and outside afterwards scared the life out of me that i do remember
  7. thks pal, anyone know how many days between the first play-off semi and the final?
  8. Old Nick you are bang on the money here, this was easily his biggest mistake and I too share the view an FAC win that year may have led to us doing an Everton the following year. It still causes me great annoyance now. In fact I have spoken to both Lawrie and Stevie Williams about it in recent years and I can assure ypu I am bothered about it a lot more than they seemed to be! We should have played Golac in midfield in that game. The highlight of that season (aside from round 4) was seeing Moran and Wallace both score hatricks in the same game against Coventry - although Ashly Grimes reply is still one of the best goals I have ever seen scored in Southampton.
  9. Anyone of my Saints brethren living in the Far East? Recently moved here and based in Singapore....will be flying back for the game we clinch promotion......anyone fancy a pre-departure beer at Changi Airport?
