  1. My registered staunch Republican work mate has even admitted that McCain has little chance now, though he would like the Republican party to ask some pertinent questions of Obama's links to the now 'reformed' lecturer?, who waged a campaign of violence against the Vietnam war in the 70's, and also to probe further into Obama's involvement in Chicago politics where he started his political career, seemingly Chicago is one of the most politically corrupt areas of America along with perhaps Boston and other areas such as Louisiana. Still I get to win 100 dollars off him if Obama wins, which will then go straight to another American mate of mine who I owe the same amount to due to a losing wager on the Ryder Cup outcome. And today I sent him the words of the Red Flag to learn seeing as he is now living in a 'socialist state", he is not particularly amused by that!!
  2. We may take a slight comfort if Ingerland do not win, but would take more enjoyment from our own country winning rather than any other teams outcome, and for your information Scotland have been consistently making a hash of things long before Burley was manger, and will continue to do so in the future, it is part of our natural psyche. As for your emotion of hating someone you have never met, or who is as insignificant as a club football manager, well it seems to me to be a bit over the top and as someone else pointed out, very very sad.
  3. Dear Kris, In response to your small minded and petulant comments about who you would be willing to have the honour to represent your country for depending on who the manger is we would like to point out the following: The honour of playing for your country, in fact even being selected for the squad is one that many players would willingly be happy with and would hope to prove in training that they were worthy of a place in the team. You had not been playing first team football for Rangers, highly the ideal preparation for an international game. You are a grade one knob end and we would like to take this opportunity to point out that the decision is now taken out of your hands and you will never in any circumstances be picked for the national team, regardless of who the manger is. Love from the SFA XXXXXX
  4. Love you and Mack Rill both, sweeties....
  5. From the limited games I have seen this season, we appear to play fairly well when going forward until the last 3rd and then seem to either want to create the 'perfect' final pass, when someone should be inventive enough to attempt a direct shot from distance. Though at times defensively we look very frail at both full back positions though that is sometimes down to lack of cover for the full backs from midfield. One thing that did impress me was against Coventry when Jan clearly decided we were staring defeat in the face and made a triple substitution with roughly half an hour left, and maybe with better finishing we could have clawed it back a bit? I think he is doing a farly decent job with what is at his disposal and hope that this season we could finish around mid table and then hopefully maintain the same squad for next year with the prospect of improving to either play off position or automatic promotion.
  6. Any suggestions on the best way to get there ie underground or regular train, and train stops etc. And any recommended pubs en route?
  7. Do you have a little voodoo style Burley doll to stick pins in?, you seem somewhat obsessed by a former manager. Meanwhile I am looking forward to coming home from abroad and going to the game on Sunday and hopefully enjoying the entertainment and possibly a win. Plus Scotland will hammer Iceland....................1-0.
  8. With a political system so dependent on large scale donations to either party, is it at all surprising that people who back the candidates may have some reason to have a say in policy decisions. You can't seriously tell me that Bush/McCain do not have equally 'dodgy' people backing him. And this is not getting at Bush/McCain personally, more the party machine and the American political system, though even that is a travesty of democracy in the first place.
  9. Try heroin, cocaine and similar substances.
  10. Being Scottish, he probably has a higher standard of education than you and would be able to spell Ecuador correctly.
  11. Slaven Billic(sp?) has said England are too predicatable and do not particularly worry him, unsure as to whether he meant Englands probable team selection or style of play. Maybe if England changed from the usual suspects who are nearly always selected no matter what their form, they may do better in certain games. I think a draw away against Croatia would be a good result, followed by a victory against them at home which is not impossible to imagine.
  12. Then he is a knob of the highest order who should never be allowed to have the honour of playing for his country again just because he does not agree with/like the manager.
  13. Yes, apart from the fact he is ranked in the top 6 in the world, he is very similar to the over hyped boxer.......
  14. And you are from Portsmouth I believe?
  15. As I said being anti English and racist can be 2 completely different things, depending on your acceptance of the definition of the word race. From the English Oxford Dictionary it can mean either a "group of persons connected by common descent", or in it's primary definition, a race is "one of the major divisions of humankind, having distinct physical characteristics" I am sorry you had bad experiences in the places you mentioned but to be fair they are all ****e anyway... Back to the tennis, hope Murray wins for Britain and Scotland, as he himself says, as would I.
  16. Being allegedly 'anti English' is not the same as being openly racist, and having lived in Scotland for 25 years, fail to see where you come up with that comment from?
  17. Lol at the pathetic jocks, hope Murray gets stuffed as well at tennis.......moaning, subsidised, deep fried Mars bars eating knobs, hope they lose about 5-0 and Murray gets beat in straight sets.
  18. Just like supporting Man U or Chelsea etc if you don't live there, and you could not really be further from the truth, the problem lies in having too many professional teams in Scotland, especially in the West of Scotland, where the large support the Old Firm get is admittedly partly to do with them winning more trophies but also to do in the past with religious issues from years gone by. Also Scotland as a national team have not exactly covered themselves in glory over the years, but can always manage a decent support for away games, these supporters are mainly drawn from supporters of the smaller teams. I lived in Paisley, therefore I supported St Mirren.
  19. For all you commuters who moan about the rail network, try this approach from Argentina..... Furious commuters in Argentina set fire to a train on Thursday over delays during the morning rush hour, incidents the government later blamed on leftist activists. Television images showed black smoke and flames engulfing the train at the station of Merlo, in the western suburbs of the capital, Buenos Aires. At nearby Castelar, passengers hurled stones at the ticket office and blocked the rails. Many passengers said the delays, caused by a broken-down train, had cost them a day's work. Justice Minister Anibal Fernandez said the faulty train's brakes had been sabotaged and leftist political activists took rocks and flares from their backpacks to incite violence and set the train aflame. "This was planned, it was premeditated," Fernandez told a news conference, adding the fire caused nearly $8 million (4.54 million pounds) in damage to the newest train running on the heavily travelled line. Police arrested seven people on theft charges during the incidents, he said. Argentina's dilapidated rail services are plagued by delays and travellers' anger has erupted into violence before. Last year, commuters torched a carriage at a station south of the capital and rioting broke out at a main railway station when passengers clashed with police, causing dozens of injuries and arrests.
  20. You seem to be missing the point, singing songs in support of paramilitary groups of either persuasion is fairly pathetic, though both clubs have tried joint campaigns to rid themselves as much as they can of the political associations involved, and it is not as bad as it used to be. Also at the end of the day, it is just a song and I know many supporters of both clubs who will sing 'sectarian' songs at a game, but leave the whole issue alone after the match
  21. You appear to have blue tinted glasses on as the Rangers fans will sing songs in support of the UDA who as a paramilitary organisation have also killed people. Both sets of supporters are equally as pathetic.
  22. Paddy Power's Next West Ham Manager: 5/4 Bilic, 7/1 H Redknapp, 11/1 Mancini, 11/1 Rijkaard, 14/1 Deschamps, 16/1 Allardyce, 16/1 Keegan, 20/1 Shearer, 20/1 Houllier, 20/1 Poyet, 20/1 Gullit, 28/1 Moyes, 28/1 Strachan, 33/1 Wise, 33/1 M Laudrup, 33/1 Pearce, 33/1 McClaren, 33/1 Ranieri, 33/1 W Smith, 50/1 Ince. Others available
  23. Sportinglife.com is running an article on it stating West Ham could 'only' finish 10th last season, am sure a lot of clubs supporters would settle for that level of mediocrity.
  24. Are you Mo Johnson????
  25. Well they tend to lump anyone who has slightly 'social welfare policies' in the 'communist' bracket
