The 5th Round Draw - Bolton at home (if we beat Millwall!)
CLOTH EARS replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Stevenage away i reckon.......it'd be a tough one! -
I had 3 great, great uncles aged 34 24 & 21 from Fritham in the New Forest ( 2nd Class passengers ) that went down on the Titanic.
-
Saints loss of form now has to be a concern to all of us. As people above pointed out we need to have additions in asap, especially with the loss of Lambert for a few games.
-
I can't believe that the BBC still buy that dock strike ******!
-
I would just like to add again that this Dock strike thing was TOTAL ******.....a complete & utter myth!!! Some of them claim that the name they give us stems from the mythical strike..... 'SCUM' stands for 'Southampton City Union Men' who allegedly broke a strike. I can tell you 100% that the name 'scummer' came from a local pub singer called 'Shep Woolley' He was an ardent Pompey fan who wrote a song about Pompey in late 1983 and in this song he reffered to us as 'scummers'. It made the local news on Radio Solent at the time it came out because some Southampton people thought it was wrong for him to refer to us by that name, Obviously the pompey fans latched onto the scummer thing from then onwards and amazingly we drew them in the FA Cup 4th round a couple of months after the song came out and it was an ideal chance for them to chant 'scummers' at us all afternoon. From this time onwards the 'scummer' thing has stuck. As for the Skate thing well that started to be used after 'The Ugly Inside' fanzine in the late 80's early 90's had a cartoon called Sid the 'Skate'. Sid was a pompey sailor boy. The term Skate is a term that has been used for years and years for Sailors who when at sea and sexually frustrated used to use the mouth of a Skate fish to pleasure themselves, apparently it feels close the real thing! With Pompeys obvious links to the royal navy the word Skate seemed like an ideal term to use for that lot.

A bit over sensitive aren't we?

As i am involved at the club i can tell you that. 1. We will do all we can to have the game played at The Testwood Stadium but ultimately it is not our decision. The FA and Police will decide if the Stadium can hold the fixture. 2. If we are given permission to play the game at our stadium it WILL be all ticket. 3. Bristol Rovers will have a say in how much the tickets will be so untill we speak to them i can't tell you the price of the tickets. I will keep you posted. I would also like to confirm that there is NO Saints hatred at Totton, most of us have been Saints St holders in years past. ( we do have two Pompey fans involved at the club and they get MAJOR stick for that.....in a nice way! ). Totton as a town is PRO Saints make no mistake. YES we are a town in our own right but we are PROUD to be next to the best city on the South Coast!
-
I am a Saints fan but i am, a Tottonian and today was a great great day for the town. we ( Totton ) are loving all the attention we are getting from the media at the mo, we feel very honoured and priveleged and hopefully there will be more to come! The club was buzzin this evening and there was lots of tears of emotion from several club people, days like today remind me why i love football so much!
-
I went to the game and Totton were sen****JINsational!!! 8-1 and they were well worked goals.
-
Its not half a mile its a 3 or 4 minute walk. Its right next to the stadium.

Are any of you lot coming? GET THERE EARLY if you are. I have a feeling the ground will be filled to capacity. There will be two bars in operation within the clubhouse. One closes at 6pm if you are hanging around after the game for a few beers. The other bar will have the England v Spain game on, this kicks off at 5.15pm. Matchday programmes priced £2 will be available from the Club shop and from just outside the sports bar entrance ( Inside the stadium ) Parking for spectators is on Calmore Ind estate right next to the stadium. Park in Mansells Car Park. Go into the ind estate off of Calmore roundabout and take 1st right into Eddystone Rd take the 1st right again into Mansells Car Park. The stadium is 3 minutes away right by Calmore Roundabout. IF Mansells fills up then park on the main road through Calmore Industrial Estate which is Brunel Road. If you park anywhere else MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO SIGNS SAYING YOU WILL BE CLAMPED. Do not park in Testwood Lakes as they may close their gates before the game ends and you will be stuck in there!

I tell you what Newlands is the most picturesque and beatifull cricket ground on the planet! I have been to Cape Town ( My ol man was born there ) It is a great city. I reccomend going up to the top of table mountain on the cable cars, the views from up there over the city and Harbour are just fantastic!

AFC Totton v BPA.... £10 Adults £6 Oap's/students & £3 Kids ( U16's )...Cash on the day, No advance tickets.
-
I was 17 at the time....that was a ****ing mental celebration....my mate went home with somebodys tooth stuck in his head after the goal celebrations, he was covered in blood but didn't give a monkeys....we'd beaten Pompey with a 89th minute winner and that was all that mattered. I think people ended up about 20 feet away from where they were prior to the goal....a brilliant day!
-
As mentioned above Totton have drawn Bradford Park Avenue at The Testwood Stadium Saints have no game on 12th Nov as it is an international weekend. So why not come along and watch Totton try and get through to the 2nd round. Alot of Totton fans are Saints fans too so come and cheer on another team from the good side of Hampshire! Hopefully, everybody can pile into the clubhouse after the game for the England v Spain game that kicks off at 5.15pm.
-
In the 1st round proper draw tomorrow live on ITV at 1.30pm.
-
I am involved at AFC Totton and about a year or so ago Luke and one of his team mates were lodging with one of our supporters and they were treated to an AFC Totton game one evening, undoubtedly the experience of watching The Mighty Stags has taught Luke everything he knows so he will be destined for big things as a result (-: A word or two of advice Luke, STAY WITH SAINTS MUSH!!!

I watched Totton beat Barwell 2-1 this afternoon with a 97th minute winner! The ironic thing was that Barwell had used time wasting tactics throughout the 2nd half and because of all the added time we scored so late!..........justice! -
Get well soon Danno!!!
-
2-0 to the Totton boys 2-0 to the Totton boys.
-
Come on youooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Staaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggggggggggssssssssssss!!!

For anyone wanting a game to watch on Bank holiday Monday why not pop along to The T******d Stadium for a local derby between the Southern Premier leaders and one of the biggest Non league clubs in the South. Weymouth have big support and a big stadium and not long ago were in the Blue Square premier. Totton have started superbly having won their 1st 4 games scoring 15 goals and conceding zero. Totton do have a toughie at Leamington Spa tomorrow to overcome prior to this big local derby, the Weymouth game should be a corker!
