Pinnacle plans conditional on promotion in first season
CLOTH EARS replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
bingo!!! -
2500 is our capacity. The turnstiles will open at 6.15pm if you want to be sure of a front row view.
-
Only 13 days to go.

I think a majority of Saints fans would accept the 10 points but will it stop at 10 points? What makes you think that we wont get deducted anymore points? My gut feeling is that the league will hit us with another 15 points deduction for not coming out of admin with a CVA. Pinnacle know this, hence the reason they wont waive away their right to appeal ,but then the argument is that it wasn't the football club that was in administration. If we waive away our right to appeal then they deduct us another 15 points we are effectively accepting relegation to League 2 !
-
That is it mate. As you have said its not about appealing against the 10 points deduction, its about the right of appeal against the potential further 15 point deduction. IF we waive away our right of appeal then the FL decide to deduct us another 15 points we will be effectively relegated to League 2!!!

We have sold hundreds of tickets already and there's still two weeks untill the game. We are open tonight between 7pm and 9pm if you wish to buy some tickets. See opening post on this thread for opening times between now and July 7th.

Amins. Is there any chance of making this a sticky?
-
Remember folks. The tickets are on sale at 7pm this evening.

Hey Rut, I doubt I will get to see much of the match as I will be running around doing stuff. Its just an honour for the club to be hosting Saints. As you know Saints have been the club I have loved and supported for 34 years. Its bloody good of Saints to come and play us. Totton have grown on me as a club in a big way and that is why I now volunteer to help out at the club. With the new stadium at Calmore now being given the go ahead, exciting times could be on the horizon for us. As we all know a massive majority of Totton fans are Saints fans anyway, so July 7th will be a special occasion for all of us. I gather the club are getting some special Totton v Saints scarves done commemorating the fixture. The organising of this game has been taking up a fair bit of my time since the fixture was confirmed a few weeks ago and I have had loads of people asking about tickets since Saints gave us the go ahead to publisise the match, we just hope it all goes to plan and everybody enjoys what will be a 'very' special night for AFC Totton.
-
With whats going on at the moment regarding the situation with the Pinnacle bid, i doubt that this game is on the rador with most of you at the moment BUT there has already been plenty of interest in Totton regarding this fixture so we expect the game to sell out. So please be aware that the tickets will go fast.

As much as I would love to get those 10 points back I would accept it if it allows the takeover to go through. We could still make the play offs with the -10 deduction 'providing' we buy some decent players.
-
I can reveal that Saints have made an approach for Iusevi Agra the former Italian hardman and his assistant the former Cameroon international Erec T'memba. These two have been a major success in Italian serie D for FC Stiffi, who narrowly missed out on promotion last year. It is hoped that the Italian club can also be persuaded to release star striker Iava Bighardi for a reasonable fee as his contract is up at the end of the coming season. Saints have shown firm interest in the player who is rather good at keep ups!!!
-
Saints have promised AFC Totton that they will be playing a strong team against them. It will not be just a Southampton XI.

Who else is wetting themselves at the prospect
CLOTH EARS replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Look on the bright side we wont be playing any northern teams untill the final, so at least we wont have to travel to Macclesfield on a freezing cold tuesday in November. I take my hat off to those of you that will be travelling to watch Saints away in this competition -
How much would we need to spend? £5m? £10m?
-
You miserable sod!!! Eastleigh are non league too mate, in case you havent noticed! Let me tell you now, AFC Totton are a very decent side who play some bloody good football. They have a few players who have played league football like Carl Pettifer ( Ex Southend and Bournemouth ) and Matt Robinson ( ex Saints Reading, Pompey and Oxford Utd ). You wait until you see Mark Osman in full flight he is genuine quality. He will cause the Saints defenders some problems. You need to remember Saints are now a League one side.
-
Playing the mighty AFC Totton will not be easy for Saints. Its a heck of a way to travel mind
-
Well said. The people who commited the crime are no longer around to take the punishment. Perhaps the football league should somehow investigate if there is a way of punishing the individuals who run the clubs after they have buggered off! why should the new incumbants and the clubs supporters suffer for the mismanagement of the previous regime/regimes. That is why I really felt sorry for Luton last year, it was crazy that they were punished the way that they were.
-
Welcome Tony, Many thanks for making this happen mate, hopefully, the exclusitivity period will go without any hitches and you can proceed with the purchase of the club. After yesterdays announcement alot of Saints fans will now be sleeping a little bit easier than they were previously. Now is the time for the old pro Lowe-anti Lowe arguments to cease once and for all, Us saints fans now need to be totally united and focus our efforts on backing Tony and Matt. League One will be tough, Norwich, Charlton, Leeds and MK Dons will make this a VERY competative division but i'll tell you what THIS CLUB WILL GET THERE!!! WE know where we belong and that journey starts here and now! COMON YOU SAINTS!!!

Perry and Clive on Nes at ten talking about...
CLOTH EARS replied to ooohTerryHurlock's topic in The Saints
I have to say that the people who run Southampton should be ashamed, they have no imagination and no vision!!! When you come in from the west of the city all you see is a council estate on the left an industrial estate on the right, then you get to smell the wonderful Millbrook sewage works and then you get to see the wonderful stacks of containers in the western docks! When you reach the city centre you get to see all of these wonderful office blocks, some of them are big and ugly, some of them are small and ugly but most of them have 'offices to let' signs all over them. The city is poorly laid out, its a mish mash of a city. The city with its maritime history and Ocean liners should be building its image around this. I personally would like to see the docks (from opposite St Marys stadium right through to Millbrook) transformed into hotels restaurants, marinas with some sort of waterside 'Alton Towers' with a few retired Ocean liners used as museams/resteraunts/hotels. Why not bring the 1st Queen Mary home? Maybe the rebirth of the Football Club can kick start the city and start to make people realise what a great city this 'could' be. -
You could all come and support AFC Totton!!! We are the mighty Stags!!!

Is SMS built on an ancient burial ground ...
CLOTH EARS replied to Beer Engine's topic in The Saints
THIS IS FACT there are still saxon graves beneath the Kingsland stand. I collected lots of newspaper cuittings when St marys was being built and in an Echo article it says that it was decided to leave lots of Saxon graves under the ground where the Kingsland stand is.
