  1. I know the loan window is still open, but I am a tad worried that we havent signed anyone today. Its a very risky game we are playing as the current crop of players would be in the bottom 4 anyway even without the 10 point deduction, that tells me that currently we are not good enough! To run with things as they are untill January could leave us with a mountain to climb in the 2nd half of the season.
  2. I think we'll need more signings. We have to go on a really good run just to get out of the bottom 4. To go till January with what we have is very risky!
  3. People have to understand that ML is not going to throw money at us like the owners of Notts County are doing for them. I've seen ML quoted somewhere as saying that he does not believe in taking on debt, so if this is correct then his policy is going to be that we spend what we generate ourselves. So, if we want success quicker we will need our fans to fill St Mary's every week, and the local businesses to spend more on sponsoring the club. This 'self sufficiency' policy means that we may have to be VERY patient. If the fans are not patient and crowds drop off, then this will probably hinder the clubs progress. I personally would like to see the club kick started by seeing us go out and purchase a number of decent players that would put bums on seats, but as i said I don't think thats the way ML will operate. Oh, and for me Pardew is the best man for the job!

  5. I reckon 15.000 tomorrow night.
  6. In the days when supporters didn't need to buy their tickets in advance the Saints crowds would genarally go up when the team had won its previous game and vice versa, if the team went on an unbeaten run the crowds would rise game on game and again if the team was on a losing run the crowds would drop off game on game. The fact of the matter is that the fans like to see winning teams. If you check through Saints fixtures and attendances in the mid 1970's, when advance ticket purchases were not neccassary, you will see what i mean. There may be a couple of exceptions but generally you will see that what I am saying is correct.
  7. I predict 18.300.
  8. This may have legs.....and by the look of it very short ones!
  9. From what the Brighton fans are saying about him, its fair to say that i'm not that excited about the prospect of him signing for us.
  10. Its sister paper for the non league is a good read too.
  11. I have just watched AP's interview on Saints player and he said that we may have one, or possibly 2 players in before saturdays game with Brentford. He also said that there could be one or two going out before the window closes ( IMO probably Rasiak and Saga ). Interestingly for me he added that if and when we add these two players to the squad that those signings will probably be the last signings for a while. Maybe I am wrong, but something tells that he's disappointed with that. He said that he wants the fans to leave Swindon 'thinking' that was more like it! Another thing that jumped out at me was the fact that he said he was still awaiting for info on Swindon and that he said that this was 'unacceptable' he said that the scouting needs restructuring asap and he is working on that. I'd like to add that Pardew seems like a really honest guy who is frustrated with certain things at the moment. In my opinion if he is given the backing he WILL sort it out.
  12. Either after tomorrow nights games OR on Soccer saturday on Sky.
  13. I reckon we will get 13000 plus what Northampton bring.
  14. He is playing for Chelsea's reserves, i bet he'd prefer playing in front of 20.000 in Lg 1 rather a small crowd at Farborough. You gobby ****!!!
  15. Whilst reading the non league paper today I noticed a photo taken at the Farnborough v Chelsea reserves game and Jack Cork appeared to be in the photo. The guy is never going to get a look in at Stamford Bridge, he is wasted there. This made me think that he'd be a great addition to our squad he'd be right now if we could get him on loan ( or even permanent ). He did pretty well whilst he was here on loan last time. What do you think?
  16. I wouldn't mind betting that the real reason that the move didn't happen is that he failed the medical. His agent could've asked the club not to give the real reason for the move falling through so they came up with this work permit excuse.
  17. If you are interested and want to know more, send me a PM with your contact number and I will get someone from the club to call you back. Cheers Folks.
  18. To be honest Saints TV aint brilliant but its ok. You get extended highlights of all Saints home games, for away games Saints can't control how much footage they are given so sometimes you may only get a minutes worth of footage. You get all reserve games highlights and you get quite a few interviews. There is an archive section where you can watch Saints goals from past seasons. I will subscribe again.
  19. They are now on there.
  20. I am undecided on Euell, but John and Rasiak could have a field day in this division 'IF' they are motivated enough to play at this level. I asked Mark Wotte about Rasiak on the night of the Totton friendly and he basically said that he doesn't seem interested because he wants to move away, I asked Mark if it was because Rasiak feels he is to good for League One and he nodded 'yes'. I agree with other comments made suggesting that we need an injection of pace into the team. I would like to keep Thomas at the back, but does he feel he is to good for this Division? IF he wants to be here we should keep him and buy another centre half to go alongside him. I feel that we would need as many as 4 or 5 new signings to make the squad good enough for a promotion push, but you can make that 7 or 8 IF the above mentioned players do not want to play in this division.

    Wotte

I met him at the Totton game and had a really good chat with him, he was a genuinely nice guy.
  22. Pardew had many doubters at West Ham to begin with but in the end he won many of them over. There were still a hardcore who refused to take to him despite the fact that West Ham played some fantastic football with him in charge. He got them promoted via the play offs and to the FA Cup final where they drew 3-3 with Liverpool, only to lose on pens.
  23. It'll be Christian Gross
  24. I would just like to say thanks to Mark Wotte. He got alot of stick from fans last season but its my opinion is that ANY manager would've struggled to have kept that squad up. I thought they would give him this season at least to see what he can do with a bit of money to spend. Being involved at AFC Totton, I had the privelege of a 10 minute chat with Mark after the game on tuesday and I thought he was a bloody nice fella. He was open and honest about the teams frailties and he knew exactly where the team needed strengthening. He was very complimentary about Saints as a club and was really looking forward to this season. Where does this leave poor old Michael Svennsen?
