  1. Initially I thought that the ban on the Echo seemed harsh, as the story about the training ground plans was already out in the public domain by the time they went to print. After reading the Lambert article this moring I was seething with the Echo! I am glad somebody started this thread, because if they hadn't I would've done! The Echo was quite clearly mischief making with that Lambert article, it was based on nothing other than a **** stirring agenda that they have after being banned from St Marys by Cortese. That article was trying to manufacture a situation, it was certainly not based on any facts. The article IMO was trying to unsettle Lambert and F-U-C-K the club off!!! The article was NOT IN THE INTEREST OF SFC OR ITS FANS!!! I expect to see the Echo with that '**** stirring' spoon in their hand plenty more times yet. If i read anymore articles like that i will stop buying the Echo, and I would encourage others to do the same.
  2. I knew it was a draw but i thought it was 1-1! I remember being on the Milton terrace that day and everybody was saying Golacs going to get the goal of the season, I don't think he did but it was one of those goals that all of us 40+ year old Saints fans remember.
  3. Click on the links. I trawl youtube quite often but never managed to find these before today. I was at all of these games. The game where we beat Birmingham 3-0 at St Andrews was a hell of a day as our coach broke down 3 times!. we got there at half time!
  4. I went to Chiquitos for my Works Xmas meal, the food was top notch! By the way I thought Thomas was excellent, some clown on this site reckons Thomas is no CB. I reckon he'd had his eyelids glued shut before he went to the game today!
  5. I thought Thomas did ok.
  6. I'd love a crack at Pompey at our place but we'll get Liverpool at Home!
  7. Its funny Mike, I am involved in non league football and it does seem that the closer the club is to London, generally speaking the bigger the ****s they are. There are some exceptions, but there is definately something in what you say.
  8. That made me giggle! In all honesty Antonio has too many poor games. He had one good moment in the 1st half when he got in a shot that their keeper saved, other than that he was sub standard. In the 1st half i thought we were neat tidy, our movement was good and our passing was bang on and we should have gone in at least 3-0 up. Luton made changes at half time and decided to go at us, combine this with the fact that we took our foot off the gas and that is why the 2nd half ended up like it did. I thought that our midfield went awol in the 2nd half, we stopped winning the ball in the midfield area and that just invited Luton on to us. They took encouragement from this and they had a couple of good chances, one Luton player will be having nightmares tonight when he thinks about that chance that he miskicked in front of goal! A half decent contact and he would've scored.
  9. When Totton went to Bishops Cleeve the attendance was about 40, and 27 of them were Totton fans!!!
  10. Cuckoo! Cuckoo! I reckon you will get 10.000 people at your funeral!
  11. The top and bottom of what I am saying is that I want Saints to win every game they play in. I do not think we have that much quality in depth to enable us to rest too many players. AP knows this, I would espect two maybe three players to be rested but no more than that. Luton maybe non league at the mo, but they are no mugs, its their big day and I don't want my club to be a victim of a giant killing!
  12. Some of you who have posted on this thread need to get a grip! Why field a weekened team and see the club embarrased? We could get a tasty draw in round 4 versus a premier club at St Marys and be live on national TV and pull off an upset in front of a full house and the nation! That would do the club more good than losing to Luton Town!!! YES we want to have a crack and try to get into the Play offs. beating Luton will set the players up nicely for the visit of Huddersfield. The players are pros and they are supposed to be fit THEY CAN HANDLE IT!!!
  13. I disagree with you about Papa, i think Papa is very quick. I think Papa has improved as a player since he's been here, he is certainly worth keeping in my opinion. I agree with you about Antonio, he is quick, but he is erratic. He has had a few really good games such as MK dons at home and Bristol Rovers away in the FA Cup, but in my opinion he comes up a little short in terms of quality.
  14. I have a feeling that Trotman may stay till the end of the season and Antonio will be going back Melis already has gone back to Chelsea. I think we will be seeing at least 3 new faces in January.
  15. Losing at home to a non league club will do wonders for us won't it FFS!
  16. NO we shouldn't rest anyone. Luton will not be pushovers on saturday, MAKE NO MISTAKE they willl be capable of turning us over if we send out a weekened side.
  17. It sounds as if we got it wrong in the 1st half, we offered very little going forward. the introduction of Connelly gave us some impetus and we did ok in the 2nd half. Antonio is frustrating, he has pace but he often comes up short with his final ball. We probably need two or three quality signings to allow us to kick on in the 2nd half of the season. We are not far away from being a very good side in this division. We do need to beat Huddersfield in our next home game to keep us in play off contention.
  18. I quite like the slower version where we do two verses slow and then finish it off at the traditional speed. For those older fans the best OWTSGMI was at the Dell in the 1970's and early 80's when the upper tears of the West and East stands used to stamp their feet on the wooden floors to it and it used to echo around the ground, it used to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, it was awesome. A Man City fan once said to me after a game at the Dell that it was the most amazing sound he'd ever heard in a football ground.
  19. There was moments when it was quiet, but the Northam were not that bad. It was quite easy to tell apart the regulars from those that haven't been for a while, when on a couple of occasions the Northam tried to start the slower version of OWTSGMI it was always hijacked by those who sing it at 100mph. The 'non regulars' obviously didn't realise that there is now a decent slower version.
  20. I have a lift to the VT v AFC Totton game for an 11.30 kick off and after that has finished I am being dropped off at St Marys for the game. At the moment it looks as if I am walking home to Totton after the Saints game! Is anybody else walking home to Totton?
  21. What all this boils down to is that the fans just want to see a winning team! It doesn't matter what division you are in as long as you are winning! BUT if you keep winning you will end up back in the Prem paying alot more to watch a team that probably wont win as often UNLESS Mr Liebher wants to GO FOR IT and pay BIG bucks. Untill the day when we get back to the Prem lets enjoy this winning feeling because its good fun!!!
  22. Are you sure???...........Passionate??? Flippin heck if thats passion I'm a 9 legged, 14 foot tall flourescent green poodle called Mike!
  23. Like you, I think that Solents commentary is decent and you can hear the crowd, it'd be a good idea to use it instead of having these crap, half interested commentators dubbed over the sound of the crowd.
  24. I agree that its great to have the saints player BUT it will only take minimal effort to improve it! I for one like to hear commentators that are interested in what they are doing and I like to be abe to hear the sound of the crowd singing and cheering!
