I know that it is live in South Africa, its on Supersport 7 at 2.25pm local time. My parents will be watching.

You get to Wembey and you cant go on the pitch......what a joke! The stewards obviously think that stopping pitch invasions is more important than stopping punch ups! Carlisle didn't seem to bothered about pitch invasions.
-
Hopefully that will leave us lots of space to do them some damage. http://www.mkdons.com/page/MatchPreview/0,,10420~1960172,00.html COMON YOU SAINTS.......DESTROY!!!

I think i am correct in saying that on thursday the Pompey tickets can be bought without having to buy a ticket for another game.
-
I remember as an 11 yr old kid being caught up in a punch up between Saints & Brighton fans at the Dell in the 77-78 season, I also remember being caught up in a ruck up at Kenilworth Road in the same season and the following week at the Dell we had Spurs and a Spurs fan grabbed my scarf from around my neck telling me its the wrong colour etc, my ol man lamped him out! it was character building for me thats for sure. Hopefuly no kids will witness what i did, but they shouldn't be concerned by the atmosphere in the ground, its very safe nowadays, they should take the atmosphere in and enjoy it.
-
I won't sniff at this trophy, i just want to see Saints lift a trophy at Wembley! We wont think about what trophy it is on the day ( if we get there ), we will be to busy enjoying the day. I am so excited about the next two games, its a long long time since i've been this excited about Saints.
-
Right Glasgow, I was having a conversation with saints fans yesterday and they were ALL pretty excited at the thought of reaching a Wembley final. NO its not the FA Cup No its not even the Carling cup BUT its a cup final at Wembley and i'll bet you that we'll sell 35.000 - 40.000 tickets 'IF' we reach the final. FOUR current Premier League Clubs Birmingham City, Wolves, Bolton and Wigan have won this Cup so its not as meaningless as you make out. We won't think about what trophy it is on the day, we will all have a good day out and we want to see Saints lift a trophy at Wembley ( we can pretend its the FA Cup ) and there is nothing wrong with that. I'd agree with you on one point and that is that an open bus tour of the city would be OTT 'IF' we won it, but the players could show the trophy off at the next home game after the final.

Is 18 wins in the last 25 not enouh for you then?

Their squad was a damn sight stronger than ours! We had been relegated with a squad full of kids and players like McGoldrick & BWP had been sold by the administrator. Rasiak and Saganowski didn't want to be here so AP was left with a weak inexperienced squad, which if we hadn't added to it would have been below Stockport now! Norwich had a busy summer, Brian Gunn had added a fair few players to it over the summer and those signings have done well for Paul Lambert as well as the ones he has added himself. Lambert has had to do a little tweak here and there to get Norwich where they are now AP has had to practically build a whole squad. Here is the squad we had for our opening Pre season game at Eastleigh. Southampton: (1st half) Bartosz Bialkowski, Lloyd James, Wayne Thomas, Chris Perry, Oscar Gobern, Jake Thomson, Paul Wotton, Simon Gillett, Lee Holmes, Grzegorz Rasiak, Matt Paterson. (2nd half) Tommy Forecast, Sam Argent, Olly Lancashire, Jack Saville, Ben Reeves, Jack Boyle, Callum McNish, Anthony Pulis, Tom Dunford, Matthew Paterson (White, 70), Ryan Doble. Compare this to the squad now. Your arguments just don't stack up DD.
-
Your really are a prize Plumb! When Leeds made the play offs with -15 their squad was all ready from the off, OURS WAS NOT YOU PLANK!!! Pardew had very little time to assess the squad we had before the season started v Milwall, AP effectively had to use the early league games to experiment and sign new players, who he had to bed in as quickly as possible. This is why we are not higher than we are. However, the last 25 games have been promotion form which indicates that Pardew is getting it right, if we continue in this vein of form then we will be VERY CLOSE to the Top 6 come May. You must be on a wind up mate because your arguments are flimsy in the extreme!
-
I'm sorry mate everybody knew that Norwich's squad was better than ours even allowing for that incredible 7-1 defeat to Colchester. Are you seriously critising Pardew? If you are then you are deluded mate! Our squad full of kids that got us relegated last season had to be replaced and Pardew needed those 10 games to sort things out, Norwich's squad needed NOWHERE NEAR as much surgery as ours did.
-
How many of those players from pre season v Eastleigh, v Totton, v Cheltenham and v Hearts are what you would call 1st team regulars now? Not many! AP didn't even become manager untill the day of the Ajax game. So pre season as you call it was A WASTE OF TIME!!! If AP had been here from the Eastleigh game onwards we would have probably been ready quicker and have had more points than we do now. The new owners were not even in place untill July 8th. The Eastleigh and Totton games had already taken place by then.
-
IF we just fall short the play offs i wouldn't be critical of AP in the slightest, as people point out a -10 penalty and AP having to use the 1st ten league games experimenting with the team was always going to make the play offs a big ask, I still think despite everything it really is achievable ( as i pointed out our form indicates that we can do it ) and what an achievement it would be!!! AP would have to get nominated as manager of the season IMO.
-
I don't include the first 10 games as they were effectively our pre season as Pardew was trying to bring in his own players and bed them in. What has happened since the Gillingham game is the real indicator of where we are at. If our form continues at the rate it has over the last 25 games we can expect a points total of 77, that SHOULD be enough to get into the top 6 imo. We CAN make the play offs.
-
Our record is.......... Won 18 Drew 4 Lost 3 Whatever way you look at this it is pretty impressive! Yes, i've included the two games that we won on pens in the JPT but even if you want to count these as draws the record is still very impressive. The last 6 league games we have Won 2 Drawn 2 Lost 2, those two defeats at Leeds and Colchester are the reason that we haven't made progress in getting closer to the top 6, but our record suggests that we can expect that 13 point defecit to erode as the weeks go by. My prediction is that we will make the top 6 BUT it may be very late in the season, how quick we get there depends on how we do v Norwich ( 20th Feb ) v Huddesfield ( 2nd March ) v Leeds ( 13th March ) v Swindon ( 16th March ). Positive results in these key games will help massively. Ladies and gents WE CAN DO THIS!!!

Saints V Stockport County - Post Match Reaction
CLOTH EARS replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
I had a feeling it was going to be one of those games. The crowd was flat and it seemed to rub off on the players. I think the crowd and some of our players thought we only had to turn up to get the 3 points. Stockport came for a draw but i expected that, The midfield created naff all in the 1st half it was all sideways and backwards. Defensively we looked fine but if todays anything to go by then it may be a case of Barnard or Lambert in the team not both. I am sure Barnard will come good but he may need to play alongside someone like waigo. Waigo definately made the difference today, he ran at defenders and committed them and gave us some much needed impetus, this in turn seemed to rub off on the other players and they upped their game too, this also got the crowd going. Much room for improvement but we WILL get there. -
Here's the song we can sing to him at St Mary's ( if they let him in ) To the tune of 'we're on the march with Pardews army' Who's that w****r with the bookshop Who's that w****r with the bell It's ol w******d in his hat and he looks a f*****g **** He's a 50 yr old virgin aswell

I watch alot of non league football mate and I can tell you that there is alot of talent down there, even at my club AFC Totton we have at least two players who in my opinion are good enough for the football league.

DON'T bank on Saints v Pompey being Live on ITV.
CLOTH EARS replied to CLOTH EARS's topic in The Saints
Agree 100% mate -
I have just listened to the FA Cup podcast on ITV.com and about 10 minutes into it Ned Boulting asks Clive Tyldesley, Gabrielle Clark and the ITV.com sports editor Richard Northen what the stand out ties were in the 5th round draw and Richard Northen reckons Man City v Stoke is the stand out tie.....WHAT????? he then goes on to say Chelsea v Cardiff has a nice look about it.....WHAT ?????? Ned Boulting then asks how he can look past Saints v Pompey and he acknowleges that it has a nice look about it, Gabrielle Clark then says its a stand out tie for only one part of the country! Clive Tydesley then goes on to say that Saints and Pompey like one another as much as Tiger and Erin, they then go on to talk about us in a nice way for about a minute. If other ITV sport decision makers think like Richard Northen and Gabrielle Clark then DONT bank on us v Pompey being on live. Follow the link to listen for yourself.. http://www.itv.com/sport/football/podcast/default.html

OK I'll do it. How many sold for Ipswich
CLOTH EARS replied to brianoneils slidingtackle's topic in The Saints
I reckon there will be 18 or 19k on sat. Having seen the above post saying 20k sold then i will now go for 22.5k -
When we beat them 3-1 back in October he reckoned that they were the better side after they were pretty much outplayed in their 3-1 defeat. Last night he reckons we went OTT with our celebrations and he told the MK players to look at us, implying that we already think we are through. The guy quite clearly is a knob, we know and the players know its not game over, i really hope our players use his comments as a motivational tool and go out and rip them apart in the 2nd leg.
