What are the odds of team A having got drawn against team B in the FA Cup 3rd round where there are 64 teams in the hat? For example what were the statistical odds of Man City getting drawn against Man Utd home or away at any point during the draw? Was having a discussion with a mate who studies Maths and I thought it would be simply 1/63 but he was offering up this theory that you had to multiply that by two because either team could be drawn first. Got a feeling he may be right but is there anyone who can offer a comprehensive answer? Cheers.

I don't want them to be plagued with injuries and suspensions. Why give them an excuse? Try gloat to a brighton fan without peter walton's name getting mentioned. Both teams at full strength going full pelt with the better side prevailing and playing the opposition of the park. No prizes for saying who that is.

Nothing to do with the ballot but standing at Cosham station waiting for a train to southampton, 2 lads on the opposite platform waiting for a train to portsmouth. They wait for their train to come in before giving w@nker signs and lobbing boiled sweets over the train at me. Such a pathetic class of people who live in that revolting town. Can't wait to humiliate them on their own turf. All I'm gonna think about for the next few weeks.

bristol_city_fc, cheers for the information. Would I have any trouble do you think just turning up on the day and trying to buy one? Will I have to be registered on the database or anything? Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Cork for me. One of the best performances I've seen in a Saints shirt. One thing I will say though is I'm suprised people rated Connolly's performance so highly. I agree he did some good work during the game but when you're giving the ball away straight to an opposition player in your own half TWICE and they both lead to goals I don't think you deserve too much praise. Don't want to be negative but its a relevant point.

I was bricking it for the 5 minutes after they got it back to 3-2 and weren't too far away from equalising at one point. When Lallana banged in the 4th I just instinctively ran into the aisle, turned away from the pitch and dropped to my knees with my arms out wide pumping the air. Looked back on that 5 minutes later and couldn't believe I did it. Not my style at all. Pure ecstacy!

My Wolves supporting mate telling me he wouldn't get close to their first team. I told him he didn't know what he was talking about. He's very stubborn and got on his premiership high horse.. 'what would you know you support a championship team'.. the kind of thing that makes my blood boil especially from a Wolves fan of all people. Was I really fighting a losing battle or does he have the quality to get in their team if he started there this season?

100% agree with those Sky Sports ratings above for Saints. Seems a bit harsh on Leeds mind you..

Did anyone hear the bloke who phoned in 606 last night after the game? What an utter embarrassment to our club that was. If you are a member on here and you're reading this, do us all a favour and never comment on SFC in the mainstream media again. The Pompey fan before had already made a complete mockery of their club, he didn't need anyone to point it out. Listening to our fan trying to convince the reporter that we're the biggest club in the division, whether true or not, was one of the most unbearably cringeworthy, humiliating bits of radio I've ever heard. Sorry bout that but its off the chest..

Phoned earlier and only places you could get tickets together were chapel corners. With a big walk up I can easily see us near-on selling out

Fancy bouncing it over this way too? Would be greatly appreciated.

Me and 6 non-saints fans going. Can't wait for the new season to get started!

I'm not trying to be either. But just from reading these posts of yours it is pretty easy to label you. Read them through again and think, would anyone like this person if they were talking like that to someone in a pub or somewhere. Lets just put it this way, if we were having this debate in person would you really finish it with 'That will do. That's okay. That's good enough.' You'd get smacked in the face for being so self-righteous from a fair few people I know. I just took offence to your general tone but anyway you are obviously fairly self-assured in that respect so I wouldn't dare criticise it any further. Your post was ridiculous. Nowhere did anyone suggest people send a letter in to have their application individually analysed. I know you were taking it to an extreme but even so, what's the point? Just a complete waste of time and energy typing that all out. What the debate is here is whether people who have been to many away games should get priority even if they are not season ticket holders. Its that simple so you can scrap most of what you wrote. Because no it really doesn't have to be as drawn out as you suggest it does. The scheme used to be in order of priority: ST Holder with 6 away games, Non-ST Holder with 6 away games, ST with 5 away games and so on. So essentially ST holders still get a certain level of priority, but dedicated away fans are also rewarded. Its really a very simple system, so much as your suggestion was also a suggestion, that would be the most appropriate way of doing it, if you were to reward and include away supporters. So the debate then comes down to, you have 2 systems, the one I just detailed, or one whereby you talk Non-ST Holders out of the equation. And that's the real question here that should be debated. Anything else is a side issue because yes there's no need for memberships for anything other than this.

Huddersfield appreciation/respect thread
de-fence replied to southbourne saint's topic in The Saints
Pot, kettle? A team that is worse than us (like Bournemouth but not necessarily Huddersfield) will most likely finish below us in the league. Understand? As for your take on the playoffs. You've basically just explained how the playoffs work and then said 'how is that not fair'. Its not fair Einstein because Huddersfield are the third best team in the league but now they have to scrap it out with teams who finished up to 15 points behind them. How can you say they finished 3rd and therefore were not good enough? They finished 3rd because they were better than the 3 teams below them, so why should they scrap it out with them. By your logic, at the end of the season the top 2 should go up, the bottom 3 should go down then the rest of the teams should have some little cup competition to see who else goes up. Ya know? Why restrict it to 4 teams? Lets let everyone have a go. So to go back to you're original point. Don't categorise people on this forum as thick. Its a subjective view. And from some of your views expressed on here, I think its fair to say some people may think you're a tad thick too. -
Can see plymouth going 2-0 up early. Dunno what's gonna happen thereafter

Are tickets gonna be available in the home sections on the day to those who aren't registered on their database?
