Police wary of trouble for Bournemouth game
loughborough_saint replied to warsash saint's topic in The Saints
Personally at the Bournemouth game I would just like to see a full 90 minutes of anti pompey chants. Really emphasis how much we hate po**ey and completely ignore the bournemouth fans from start to finish -
A hint of lavander in Dan Hardings run up!

I used to play for the skates in their school of excellence (now academies) whilst Pulis was in charge down there I was about 13/14- Antony was in the same team. I can't remember him at all to be honest (40+ in the squad) but my Dad says that he and all the other dads were outraged that he was even allowed to be there just because his dad was in charge. Says he was completely useless and it was so obviously he was there cause of his dad that it was embarrasing!

Saints V Carlisle Post Match Reaction

I thought he had it in his hands BECAUSE the ref had given a free kick so he was trying to stop Fallani from taking it quickly?? -

Either the ref doesn't know the rules or I don't know the rules... Why were they awarded an indirect free kick when Kelvin saved Fonte's attempted lob by palming the ball away? My understanding was always that the keeper had to pick up/catch the ball (IE be in conmtrol of it in his hands) - Kelvin was not in control of the ball he merely parried a shot??? I have seen numerous occasions where goalkeepers have made saves from their own players and it has not been a free kick. What was different this time? There didn't seem to be much uproar from other fans so maybe I am not up to date with the rules?? -
He infuriates me. he just doesn't look remotely interested in being a footballer. He must be a dream to play against - he just follows you around without making any attempt to actually prevent doing what your trying to do. Numerous times he wound me up yesterday but most noteably when Puncheon played a great ball into the channel for him to chase (by the corner half 2nd half) he was clear favourite to get there but as soon as a defender made a decent effort he back off let the defender get in front and then made absolutely no attempt to challenge for the ball at all! He just let it roll out of a play for a Charlton goal kick! I'm amazed that he is keeping Lloyd James out of the side!!

I agree fully with the OP! Lee Barnard, Barnard Lee Barnard OOOOOOOOO Lee Barnard! It fits, its easy to remember, it makes sense (number 17!) and its certain better than the Lee Barnard, Lee Barnard we were singing yesterday.

Ricky Lambert corners and free kicks
loughborough_saint replied to Matthew Le Tissier's topic in The Saints
Thats what happens with Lloyd James out of the side. I don't like Ricky taking them either but theres no point him being in the middle if theres no one to deliver a decent ball. I think Thomas the right decision at RB today just because we needed someone physical to get into their pretty boys a bit, but over all i would personally much rather see James on the pitch. he has set up loads of great chances for Ricky this season! -
Saints V Stockport County - Half Time & 2nd Half Chat
loughborough_saint replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
Because hes always off side and defenders work him out very quickly. Very effective as an impact sub -fast against tired legs, much less effective when he plays from the start. -
Clearly wasn't asking for a yellow card - no idea why the commentator suggested he was and even less idea why any one else watching couldn't see that the commentator was wrong. How many yellow cards have you seen given out by waving them from side to side? He was asking the lino why he flagged if it was just a throw in!!! Lino flagged for something more then changed his mind (replays suggest lino was correct but Morgabn didn't have that luxury!)

Sorry if this has already been covered - but how old is a 'Young Adult' up to. Thanks

First half of the season we played him as a lone striker and he was awful. Very very poor. But then second half he was played either as second striker playing just off the first or as a attacking midfielder and he was much better - he is a creative player not a battering ram. Personally I think that the perception that he was lazy was because he was completely isolated up front on his own. When playing in a better system he hasn't really seemed lazy at all. Finishing is mixed - scores some crackers and misses some sitters! Will be a very good player in the years to come I think

DMG looked aweful when played as a lone striker under Jan P, since Wotte has used him in an attacking midfield position or as a second striker he has been a different man. Creative, hard working and scores goals. Hes not perfect and makes regular silly mistakes/poor passes but I for one will be delighted if we keep hold of him this summer. I expect him to move to a mid table Champ side but I hope not.

Who is the player in the BBC article photo? Is it even a Saints player? -
Pyschology includes things such as motivation, self belief, confidence. Heaven forbid that our manager is working on these things with our players! All he means in his slightly off English is that he is trying to prepare them mentally as well as physically.

Gillet injured - he goes out and Svenson comes in - this moves wotton to midfield. Lloyd james also comes in with pekhart dropping to the bench. 2 changes - 1 forced 1 tactical There are lots of old sayings - very few of them have any relevance to real life.
-
Yeah, JP really needs to be brought to task on this! Why didn'the prevent Svenson and Thomas from getting injured? Why didn't he stop lanchashire from getting sent off - this meant that Cork was playing centre back, but then Lolyd James selfishly went and got himself hurt which meant wotton had to move back to centre back with Cork at right back. Wottons move means that the midfield has to change and so he tries Surman in there (after all this is what the good old folks on the message board have been saying all along!!) In amongst all that Lee Holmes fails to reliase what a predicament we are in and goes and allows a QPR player to bust his knee in which means we need to make yet morew changes in midfield. So on comes Dyer, who JP then realises is crap so tried BWP - he looks bright enough as a sub against Ipswich so gets his chance against Barnsley. (By the way Spiderman has picked up a knock amongst all this) So - on to Rotherham and that pesky Svenson now decides hes fit enough so he comes back in - Wotton moves back to Cm (where Gillett has picked up a knock so both he and spiderman are out) Cork stays RB and James is fit again so he slots into the CM position which he favours to RB where he was just covering anyway! Holmes is looking like a long term absence so BWP stays in. As for the strikers... JP ridoucolously seems to be trying out various options to see which one works best! Unbelievable! Chopping and changing is just part of football im afraid gentlemen! I'm sure if JP was able to field a settled solid side he would do! Whats more people are moaning that the side is changing but if he put out the same team over and over and they weren't performing then you would all be moaning that he doesn't try and change things! damned if you do damned if you dont!

Their set at reading 2006 is one the most fun gigs/sets I have ever been at - just dancing crazily with complete strangers (because all the people I was at raeding with went to see the kooks instead! idiots! Sorry to disgress but have you heard much of Edd Larrikins solo stuff? a mixed bag i would discribe it as! Back to the point: The Decembersists - The Crane Wife Most say that Picaresque is their best effort but I love the drama and tension of some songs on The Crane wife.
