Nah, didn't watch Bruno. Never really liked the character. Same old shíte tho'. The only interesting thing about Grimsby is how he's going to get his Zionist message across in that context. I'm sure he'll have a go.

My tip for avoiding bridge congestion. 1) Chill 2) Chill a bit more 3) Wait until you don't have to push your way into the crowd. 4) Walk past away coaches, up toward other side of bridge 5) Go to Old Farmhouse 6) Chill a bit more 7) Taxi when it has all died down

Sacha Baron Cohen's ship has sailed, I reckon. Haven't seen anything of his since Borat. Tried watching The Dictator, but the man is more propagandist than comedian now. I miss Ali G.

Dodgy as f**k. The fact that he met up with Epstein AFTER Epstein was a convicted paedophile is rather telling.

According to Stewart Lee, yes. McIntyre in same camp. Personally, I've no problem with comic performers fronting themselves as that. Since the 80s though, there's been an assumption on the part of the stand-up audience that the person performing the material wrote the material. Whitehall and McIntyre exploit that assumption.

Never really liked Jack Whitehall myself. Completely cemented that view when I found out his stand-up isn't really his stand-up.
-
I like Jack Dee but the bugger only has about three years worth of material for a career that spans twenty.
-
The problem is that the material is far too safe and apolitical. I can remember The Young Ones doing some very decent stuff that was right on the edge of taste. The "Lord Scarman need never know" sketch is a great example. These days, just safe díck and fart jokes done by safe comedians on safe panel shows.

You are not alone. I was invited to watch the Big Fat Quiz of the Year, but politely declined on the basis that it had entirely too much Jimmy Carr in it.

They're not an army, but they are scum. If they're that bothered, they'd probably do without the masks.

Good job, bletch. I'm a little unhappy at narrowly losing my Lounge crown to Rallyboy, but only because that thread is a fúcking embarrassment and Rallyboy's excellent writing style deserves a better home than the small-time long-length nutjob thread. No-one was ever beating Bear as MVP. Getting 2nd feels like a victory. The one thing I did win was brought about by my own stubbornness and stupidity. And Barry Sanchez. Not sure how proud I am of that, but am glad you all enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone who voted for me in whichever categories. This is my favourite place online, largely because I find the cross-section of people fascinating, but also because I'm genuinely interested in the opinions of those with a similar Sotonian heritage. Apols for the non-muppetry and slightly soppy sentiment, but there's much respect for both the board and its posters, even the ones that spend half their posting lifetime trying to make me look like a tube, only to get trounced at the polls Happy new year, Muppetdom x

A number of big names unavailable to us. A top four team. I remember the days when we were lost when our big names were absent. That's still true for the GK spot. Everywhere else? Proving not to be the case, and yes, I've heard the grumbles about Pelle's apparent prolifigacy, but I also seem to remember Mane and Tadic getting written off after a few bad games. Fraser Forster was immense today. Heard nowt but praise for him. Solid work on all fronts, particularly shot-stopping and getting down for the ball, something some have said he can't do. Got a mate who says the opposite, that he's a liability on high balls. No evidence of those deficiencies today. He will have his off-days, but performances like today makes 10m look like a bargain. Victor, glorious victor. The man that was criticised last season for poor passing and giving away the ball was a player possessed today. Gave 100% for the team, passed well and flat out intimidated the Arsenal boys with his industry and commitment. The game was like our season so far in microcosm. Eyebrows have been raised and expectations have been exceeded. But it was no fluke.

I will accept Katona and the like. Shaky ground on White Dee, I reckon.

Was this after the Adventure Playground closed?

Think they both got rougher at the same time. I lived in the Flower Roads from around 1978-1980, and then again from around 1983-1994. The Flower Roads was an excellent estate when I first moved there, but the right to buy scheme gutted the community and turned many of the former council housing stock into student digs, creating a bit of us and them atmosphere. Honestly, I still don't mind it, feel completely safe on the estate and wouldn't have any issues moving back. I spend loads of time at the old dear's place due to football. I'm travelling down in about an hour.

It's a further education qualification with a vocational bent. Not sure on street value, soz.

I'm the white sheep of the family. They call me the taxpayer. Lowest point was when my house was raided for drugs & OB took my laptop. Had my National Diploma final year project on it. Got it back just in time.

It was our dog and it wasn't me that got bit. It took a few minutes to pry the bugger off. The nipper never ran around semi-naked again

No. America has been run by and for the elite for the last forty years. The masses don't mean shít in terms of policy creation.
