That's fair enough. I've downloaded a couple of apps that were not on the Play Store, but as you say, there can be security risks associated with downloading .apk's from outside the Play Store. Did what you suggested and as it turns out, Gridrunner is actually available for Android, and not in the Play Store.

The thread is operating on reported cases, so while your point about those being the tip of the iceberg has merit, it hasn't been the focus so far. What has alarmed me as an external observer is the amount of stuff that is happening out and about.

I was unable to find anything under Llamasoft in the Play Store, so guessing not. As I said before, the App Store still has the broadest range of apps. I didn't actually miss Mr Minter's games not being on Droid, but I do now. Cheers

I think it's an appropriate when said poster says "lame attempt" immediately afterward, and feel I've been more than measured in my replies despite having licence to fire back in a name-calling contest. The title of this thread was a question, not a statement, intended to gather opinions to get a better handle on the situation. I have no firm view, and would happy to learn that Southampton doesn't have a sex offender problem, on account of all the cousins, nieces and nephews that'll be hitting town now or in the near future. My daughter went to London for Uni this year, a city that has experienced a significant rise in sexual assault, especially within the student community. We spoke about the risks and the ways to mitigate them maturely and without prejudice, using the facts at our disposal. That's all I'm seeking to achieve here.

All in the Play Store. I've mostly been emulating Playstation One software lately FPse is very good, and supports controller input through the USB connection. Haven't really looked at any other stuff. Met a very interesting chap in the US that was telling me that on PC, everything is emulatable, up to and including the latest consoles. Not really surprising, given that XBox One and PS4 are essentially chopped down PCs, with hardware that isn't a million miles away from replaceable PC components.

Did it plums. I will grant you that the ST could kick the Amiga's arse in 3D graphics, but the PC version was beautifully smooth on good hardware. Alas, I only had a lowly 1200, which fell to bits anytime I tried to land on a planet. My mate's PC ran it beautifully.

Sometimes, just sometimes, grammar Nazis are doing the right thing.

Amygate is an infamous episode that occurred on SaintsForever, a pre-cursor to this site that formed the immediate nucleus of SaintsWeb after it went tits up. There are tons of people who can give you a better summary than I could, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Amy was a catfish that mugged off the person that ran the site, who apparently went into hiding afterward. As I said, I'm crap on the detail, but it's basically a female (or someone pretending to be one) being a big part in unmaking a forum universe. Correct me if I'm wrong, people

You've misread my intent, and misrepresented the initial link. It's still there. Within Hampshire, Southampton is top. Within places the OB considers comparable, Southampton is top. Huge caveat inserted about the breakdown of the category (we don't know what the split is, or how it intersects), so I really don't know what your problem is, save residual hostility.
-
Don't let your pre-judgement ruin discussion of an important issue. I may not live in the city, but I've got genuine concerns about something starting out as anecdotal, but seems to be backed by both news reports and police statistics. I've got a huge family in Southampton, including a lot of people in their teens and twenties that are frequently go to town to party. This is a concern, and something we've discussed in my Southampton family and the thread is driven out of that concern. Please take your classless whataboutery elsewhere.

I doubt that the the authorities are keeping close tabs, at least not anywhere near like the level you'd be hoping for. Budgets, priorities - it all comes into play and we're living in an era where cuts are placing huge strain on operational effectiveness. The Echo is reporting an assault tonight at the Co-op in Thornhill. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/11775104.Sex_attack_at_Co_op_store_in_Southampton/ Don't think the parks in the middle of town help the situation. It's close to an area where a lot of people are going to be getting smashed and making poor decisions. They also provide a lot of cover for any would-be attacker.
-
Despite being an exile, I still keep tabs on what's going on in Southampton, mostly through reading the Echo, but also through conversations with friends and family. Over the course of the last year, I've noticed an increase in the number of sexual offences that occur in the city. People are being assaulted or raped in the central parks, while we've recently seen a school teacher convicted for possessing child and animal pornographic material. I've checked the Police stats site, and this suspicion seems to be somewhat validated. Southampton is not only top in Hampshire for violence and sexual offences, but also is the worst amongst what the OB considers similar places. There's a slight caveat in that violence is bundled into that category, which is why I ask the question. Does Southampton have a sex offender problem? http://www.police.uk/hampshire/1SW01/performance/compare-your-area/violent-crime/#force_comparison

Which one are you, Tim?

There are years worth of goals and motivations on this site, Tim. They are all weighed in, believe me. I find his statements to be consistent with my position, especially his most recent efforts at fear-mongerin' on Islamic matters. The man is a joke, only bettered by those that slavishly follow him. If he is not prepared to stand by his words, why the fúck should you?
-
So your initial statement is a load of shít. I made fúck all up, the man is a propagandist and hasn't had any serious work since doing his propaganda. You're right, of course. There could be other reasons. People might just dislike working with him. That's a possibility, given his content and conduct on this site.
-
He made three films about the SAS just after we'd illegally and pre-emptively invaded Iraq. Please find me the evidence that says he didn't, or that he had any sort of career making films afterwards. Don't name him, though. You'll get banned.
-
Verbal is mates with the people that made Benefits Street. Like him, they make TV on behalf of the sitting government designed to validate fúcking shocking behaviour, like invading countries or the indirect killing of poor people through benefits sanctions. Like him, they'll probably disappear off the artistic roll call when common sense prevails.
-
What a constructive post. If you can genuinely look at people dying because they've been sanctioned and need shít like refrigerated insulin, and still put your cross against the name of a Conservative candidate, then yeah, you're worse than the people you're electing. Otherwise, you've not taken the time to find out, despite the stories being plastered all over social media, national newspapers, etc. So yeah, fúck the haters, fúck the indifferent and fúck the self-blinkering stupid.

It's a problem with representative democracy, particularly now that ideological differences between the duopoly are close to zero and you seem the same sort of divisive, toxic characters on both sides of the House. I mean, I'm having a pop at the Tories here, but Blair is an untried war criminal and Mandelson was one of the creepiest politicians in living memory. Any Labour Party with him near the top isn't really a party of the working man anymore, more a vehicle for personal aggrandisement. But yeah, what choice? Every serious contender for number 10 has the same basic plan of more debt and interminable submission to the various empires we've been made part of. We'll do whatever the US wants us to do militarily, and we'll impose austerity on our own people to satisfy the central banks and those that regulate the supply of money. I am not surprised you have no-one to vote for.
-
Some more, from the Mirror this time. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/dad-two-killed-himself-because-1844633 I've never voted Tory, but I understood why people did, especially on the financial front. You'd normally get a nice tax break if you were working, they did the free money thing on council housing stock. I got their appeal to the soulless aspirational c**t part of the electorate. With the financial incentive gone, Conservative voters effectively just voting to kill people now. Fkn scroungers, eh? In the meantime, ATOS are getting 110m a year in government handouts, with a further 60m going on all the appeals that are generated. A third of all its decisions are overturned.

I think you're being unnecessarily elitist, Shroppie. Just because Grigsy hasn't read Private Eye, highbrow satire or anything with three syllable words in, you think it's okay to have a go. This is why nerds are picked on in school. Bastard.
-
Aye, posted on that one too, but here's that image you liked. Again

Much more detail, including internal memos, here:- https://endpropaganda.wordpress.com/2015/02/04/damning-evidence-of-dwp-sanction-targets-floods-committee-from-within-dwp/ The only people worse than these dirty c**ts are those that vote for them.
