I toy with the idea of getting a Mac every time a computer needs replacing. Everytime I do that, I realise that I'm going to pay around £500 over the odds - and stick to PCs. That said, Apple's customer service is pretty good. One of my iPods broke (groove related damage). I contacted their website - and someone was around the next day to pick it up. Completely replaced within a couple of days.

You're on dodgy ground here. What's your definition of race, if not ethnicity?

The Beeb should see if they can get the rights to show the celebs, the first corner and any crashes. I don't mind F1, and was really into it back when Jacques Villeneuve hit the scene, but essentially, the rest of the race is gash.

I don't think people are consciously trying to sound American. Language evolves, and the Americans have vast cultural power. Think of all the films you've seen this year and then consider the proportion that were American-made and feature actors with American accents. As saintbletch points out, many people don't even know that the words they are picking up are American in origin. Frankly, there are more important things to worry about, and suspect there is a touch of "oh feck, our Empire's gone and now our language is going too" about some of the comments on here.

Funnily enough, I'm in the middle of watching the pilot again, and thought exactly the same thing. Most of that episode looks like the result of a raid on a period drama's costume department. I love me a bit of Trek though, and TNG contains some of the best of it. By the time I've watched a few episodes, my brain will have already stopped noticing the crappy effects.

I take it the telly isn't under warranty. If it were me, I wouldn't pay anything to get them repaired. A better investment would be to get an AV receiver and some speakers. You'll fix your immediate problem, and be able to use it on future sets.

Blackadder is a classic, markedly funnier once Elton was on-board. The Young Ones is also comedy genius, and has inspired a lot of other shows. Benny Hill's demise can't entirely be attributed to comments Elton may have made. Attitudes were changing at the time. It wasn't alright for Jim Davison to do his Chalky gags any more, and although Benny's stuff was nowhere near as offensive, it got lumped in with all the rest. Benny Hill's comedy will endure because it has universal appeal - but be honest, comedy has moved in a different direction, and history will see Elton as one of the people who got it to where it is today. He should have followed Alexei Sayle's example and stuck to writing books, and has on occasion, been a bit of a nob.

The rumour is that the club, for some undisclosed reason, prevented Lambert's image from appearing in the publicity shots for the away kit. The rest is speculation based on the premise that the above is true, commentary on the OS article, gratuitous hounding of The9, the rest shaking their heads with resigned disbelief. That about sum it up?

With no inside knowledge whatsoever, I predict the following three things will be true by Saturday. 1) Ammar Jemal signs. 2) AOC leaves 3) Puncheon either in the midst of a transfer deal or gone. I fully appreciate that if these things do not happen, I will be ridiculed. Still, I hope I'm not alone. Stick your neck out. What do you think the transfer situation will be on Saturday?

Had a trawl through @Fourth_Official's tweets. Much of what they've said has actually happened, so here's hoping.
