Dragan Solak, Dragan Solak, What the F*** is going on, What the F*** is going on? Appreciate the apologists will say he's just made some changes so be patient but, SERIOUSLY let's put him on notice at least! From a football perspective, there is no doubt that SR have made far more poor decisions than good ones, whether that's managerial appointments or transfers. Yes, there have been some improvements around the stadium 'experience' and moving the away fans has lessened their impact IMHO but there's not much else is there. Our fans we are certainly very loyal, just look at the attendances given what we are witnessing! Let's be honest with ourselves, St Mary's is not the most intimidating stadium for away teams most of the time BUT when we do get up for a game (eg WBA at home last season) it makes a real difference. Let's give Dragon a little reminder of that before the Brighton game.

Agreed!

He was consistently aiming at Aribo who won a few wide left or it went into touch and therefore was safer for us. He tried the same with big Lez when he replaced Joe. Otherwise we don’t have anyone likely to win a long ball in the air from the keeper. on the other hand we could try playing out from the back to keep possession…

Some RM likes Jack's attitude and leadership which is why he wants him on the pitch and to be fair, he has a point. So often in recent seasons we've lacked any leadership and little / no shithousery things which Jack definitely brings. Problem is that he is not as good a CB as THB or JB! A better option fit Jack in more naturally might be 3 at the back which would also suit KWP and Bree / RM but obviously requires a bigger rethink further up field. For certain games / situations if might be a useful option. The 'sweeper' type role suits Jack best in my view. When he is coming forward with the ball he can add something to our play but equally we are not so vulnerable to the odd error to which he is prone... When Downes plays we don't need Jack so much as he brings some leadership and grit defensively and if he is out then we must play Charles in that slot as many have said to keep the basic structure sound. THB did ok today at fullback because he is a good player but we certainly do not get the best out of him in that position. He also brings leadership and organisation and is defo future captain material. Despite the goals we are scoring in this division, we still don't have a natural finisher as far as I am concerned. I know it's not a popular opinion but I do think Mara might be the best we have in that department if we are prepared to give him more game time and some patience. He can score goals that Che never will. There is much to admire about Che but he is not a premiership class forward is he! Mara just might be as he matures. We have a decent set of midfield / attacking players for this level - Ryan, Sam, Stuey, Adam, Joe x 2, Will, Sule and Brooks - all can be excellent on their day and there are some nice combinations amongst them. We all know Saints really do things the easy way but we can get out of this division so keep the faith. COYRs

Seriously... Today is a hugely disappointing day for everyone associated with Southampton Football Club. We have fought tirelessly as a club throughout the season, but the Premier League is the most competitive league in the world and our results were simply not good enough to stay there. We are particularly saddened and frustrated that our first season as controlling shareholders in Southampton Football Club has ended in relegation. While this outcome is distressing for all of us, now is the time to demonstrate unity. We are grateful to our managers, our players, our staff and above all our fans for battling to the end to keep the Saints in the top tier. Our work begins today to return Southampton Football Club – an inaugural member of the Premier League with a rich history – to where it belongs. We want to reassure our supporters, our partners and our staff that we remain fully committed to achieving long-term success for the club at the top level. We must now reflect on the lessons to be learned from this season and start preparing for the challenges ahead of us in the Championship. Our goal is to return to the Premier League as soon as possible and ensure that we stay there. At the same time, we will continue to focus on the long-term development of the club, both on and off the pitch, to ensure its sustainability at the highest level. We understand that significant improvement is required, and at the end of the season we will announce our immediate next steps and provide details of how the club will operate moving forward. We cannot thank our fans enough for the fantastic support they have given the team throughout the season. Your commitment to the club is an inspiration and one of the foundations that will support Southampton’s return to the top flight.Dragan, Henrik & Rasmus Sport Republic

Imagine this has already been said but I really hope our squad has been watching this game and if not, they should be made to watch it tomorrow instead of whatever it is that they do for training!
