  1. I feel very sorry for Mrs Bad Wolf tonight 😬
  2. I know what you mean but the transfer window doesn't close until September the 1st. So, we still have time to get replacements in. The proof will be in the pudding, as they say. Fingers and everything else crossed. Still hoping for a new striker and a more creative central midfield option.
  3. is it possibly because we would be left without anyone in centre midfield?
  4. Last season, as per
  5. Totally agree Milton. Zonal marking just seems a cop out where nobody takes responsibility for picking up a man. If it's your man and he scores then you know who's at fault. You don't even have to win the header just jump with them and make sure they don't get clean contact.
  6. Or a decent CB ?
  7. Please not Holgate
  8. I would also take it if I knew we had a good replacement lined up ....
  9. We seem unanimous against the signing of Holgate. Has that ever happened before on this forum 😅
  10. You're such a tease
  11. Ive not been greatly impressed with Holgate when I've seen him play and if he's not great on the ball then he doesn't seem to fit in with Martin's desire to pass out from the back. It's a pass from me.
  12. So Che had scored nothing? Very good at holding the ball up. He was a great foil for Ings. Yes, he misses chances, but so do all strikers.
  13. Both Che and AA have scored plenty of goals in the league we are now in, arguably for worse teams than Saints. To say they are crap is inaccurate
  14. I've watched 3 matches now where Amo Ameyaw has looked more creative than either Tella or Edozie
  15. The possession. Slow build up game that we are playing seems to leave no space for our wingers to exploit
  16. Sounds like a vast improvement then 😅
  17. I would be happy with that
  18. Nobody doubted his dribbling skill or commitment, but he failed to deliver the final pass or shot. But that can change.
  19. Exactly, I come on this forum for Vestergaad not Kierkegaard
  20. Snap. I thought he looked like the only one who might make something happen upfront. That's probably why he was taken off
  21. I think that would have been a tiny minority. Every Saints fans that I know was very sorry to see him go and felt at the time that a big mistake had been made when the only backups were an unknown kid (Lavia) and a poor Diallo.
  22. Nailed it MOG. A silky player at his best and one of the few, if only players who was always looking forward and playing on the front foot. There was also that freaky record he held where Saints hadn't one a game without him playing for about 2 years. Unfortunately, he didnt seem to fully return to his best form after he caught COVID.
  23. With the occasional exception Southampton, rarely seem to strike gold with players of "French" origin. They often seem to have talent and skills but equally often don't seem to have the heart or passion for the English leagues. Although, personally I do like Perraud
  24. Personally, I'm very pleased that he is leaving. Occasionally, there seemed to be a player there, but generally he would leave me tearing my hair out as he passed the ball to the opposition or was robbed in possession.
