  1. Wow, Not a low scruffy shot in sight. You obviously have a selective memory. Nobody is claiming that he is the next Sergio Aguerro, but for a zero fee to get a striker at his peak, who we know how exactly to use to get the best out of him, pretty attractive option I would think. Similarly, nobody is suggesting that we still dont need a more prolific PL striker, but they dont come cheap.. And iur record in selecting great strikers, in the recent past, is not great
  2. Sorry, wrong wording .. interested in getting him then. We wouldn’t need a fee either, of course.
  3. Clearly other premiership teams having seen him play n the PL do want to buy him and wouldn't do it if they didnt think he could perform in the PL.
  4. As other have said, Che was our best option as a target man last season, his general hold up play and ability to bring other players into the game is very good. He also scored 16 goals in 41 matches, far from a “woeful” return. To say that the only goals he can score are close grange scuffs and bundle ins is almost the opposite of the truth which is that he misses the easy ones and often converts the more difficult chances … a scorer of great goals rather than a great scorer of goals. I’m not sure that I’d like him as our starting number 9 week in week out in the PL, but as a squad player for a zero transfer fee, yes, all day long.
  5. I think CWD was including the playoffs as part of the season, and we therefore did improve; his point was that McCarthy replacing Bazunu played a major part in that turnaround. He is clearly a better shot stopper than Bazunu and commanded his area better. The defence as a whole seemed more cohesive and this seemed , at least in part, due to the confidence that the defence had in the keeper behind them. Many others have made the point that they felt as though we wouldn't have won through the playoffs with Bazunu in goal, me included.
  6. I just Googled him, I know every target looks like a world beater on YouTube but he does look impressive
  7. Very underrated striker in my opinion.
  8. It’s a valid question, The premiership is more demanding and he missed 13 matches last season. I think he’s got the stamina but he does seem to have an injury problem or two.
  9. Would be huge if we can pull this off
  10. I totally agree, provided that he is fit. He's had a few injury issues.
  11. Looks like 2 mutated Ryan Mannings
  12. Of all of those, only ABK had the ability to cut it in the prem. Provided we get the ABK that started the season, not the player at the end of the season who seemed injury prone and disinterested. I also think Perraud is, worth a squad place.
  13. Mara has had plenty of opportunity to prove himself and he really has been a disappointment, and what is more unacceptable than a lack of ability is his lack of effort. Mara has played in 28 championship matches this season and played 22 matches in the premiership. In those 50 matches he has scored 4 goals. It’s a pass from me.
  14. I would keep Edozie, as he did find some end product this season. In 32 championship matches he scored 6 and had 3 assists. Not bad for a winger and he is still only 21.
  15. This aged well 😀
  16. Generally agree but I think Bednarek is better than just a squad player. Alcaraz and KS are not good enough. KS couldn't even do a job in the Championship. Shea Charles is worth retaining and/or loaning out
  17. I hadn't even noticed that myself. Great spot!
  18. Where was that mate?
  19. Just received my 3 tickets today, ordered first thing Sunday 😁
  20. My perception of Bazunu is that too many savable shots seem to pass him by too easily. This seems to be borne out by the statistics this season (I think that he was bottom of the PL stats last season also).
  21. I received mine on Saturday
  22. Your defence of Mara is laudable, but he’s not picked upon unfairly or for fun, he’s just really not very good, it’s a huge shame that his performances don’t match your belief in him. If anonymity and making slow lazy runs were an important factor in top level football success he really would be top drawer. As these are not actually of any value in football, it’s like playing with 10 men on the pitch.
  23. Knowing Saints we will get a keeper with Baz's hands and Macca's feet.
