  1. Yep. From watching the replay angle from the back of the Chapel a few times on Saints Player it's a definite deflection. A Brum player lines up in the Saints wall. Fonte stands directly behind him with Hooiveld behind Fonte. Wood drills the ball low at his teammate at which point the ball is travelling straight at Davis. It then goes through the Brum players legs, through Fonte's legs and through Hooiveld's. The ball clips Hooivelds left instep on the way through his legs deflecting the ball away from Davis and into the middle of the goal.
  2. Replays on Saints Player show that Connolly was about half a yard onside.
  3. It shows how well we saw the game out that they couldn't find a single highlight after Lambert's third goal.
  4. On the OS but not linked from the front page yet: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2428330,00.html
  5. I think the 'mongs' only come out when they're the highlights put together by the league rather than having anything to do with Saints.

    Guly

If memory serves this was also the game that spawned the 'taxi for Guly' thread because he missed a couple of chances.
  7. Don't even think it was a case of leaving the foot in. To me it looked like he cleared the ball, pulled the foot back out and then in a second movement pushed it back into the player. Definite red.
  8. If this is referring to Walcott then we weren't actually entitled to anything but development compensation as he wasn't yet 17. If the player hadn't had morals then he could've just signed a contract and a tribunal would've given us peanuts.
  9. Worth noting that Burnley's OS at the time of the signing referenced that they made a seven figure offer that was rejected by Chelsea so would be surprised if it was actually £750K.
  10. No commentary but narration from Nick Halling throughout.
  11. I believe the FL's various rights packages dicatate that online video can only appear on the second day after the game so they tend to turn up on Monday for Saturday games and Thursday for Tuesday games (the same as the BBC site).
  12. Athletic Club?
  13. Not a big fan of the white socks. Suppose it makes it easy to swap them into the home kit if it's worn away but with a sock change.
  14. With this and the removal of multi-ball it seems that a lot of the clubs seem to be losing sight of the fact that football should be entertaining to encourage ticket sales
  15. Uh-oh! Sounds like a bunch have gone out with the second installment section inside them as IIRC they siaid that the ST sent out immediately for installment payers contain the first 8 matches.
  16. That was my first thought but not convinced there's enough room to get a name in there.

The effort that club puts into doing the extended multi-angle edit with Solent commentary should be commended. For me this makes it an essential purchase. It really shows how good it is when compared to the 1 minute / 1 angle effort we get from the away games.
  18. Think we have three there. Always seems a little inefficient to have the three when there only ever seems to be a maxium of two manned, normally only one and a massive queue for the printing on match days.
  19. Can understand the segregation netting being more costly. Give that there is likely to be more away fans for each game than in League 1 the netting will probably be in block 43 which means a prominant placement for every highlight of an attack at the Northam.
  20. I know revenue shouldn't be shunned but a few of those are depressingly tacky, particularly: Big screen substitution sponsorship: Your advert will be shown every time there is a substitution as well as the PA announcing your sponsorship with every substitution. £10,000 per season + VAT Company name on segregation netting £10,000 per season + VAT Exterior wall posters £10,000 per season + VAT
  21. One thing that did spring to mind (although incredibly unlikely) is some sort of reversible home shirt with a black and red effort underneath. The black and red "stars in stripes" advert has really got me scratching my head as if the chosen colours of the adverts have significance then it presents a different two colour scheme to the red/white & white/red adverts. The thought of a black/red away shirt comes to mind but would seem to be removed by the black/red advert specifically referring to the "home kit" (and having just had a black kit). Whilst a reversible wouldn't be keeping with anything Umbro are doing it does tick the "inovative design elements" box. Rickie's comment of "This will definately appeal to all fans" could also (at a stretch) hint at this. Perhaps a different pattern (stripes and sash?) inside and out to satisfy everyone?
  22. With the black/red advert/teaser on the OS and the extra prominance given to black on the match ball I can't help but feel there's going to be a lot of black involved somewhere in the home kit.
  23. I think this decision is in danger of forgetting that as well as being a sport football is entertainment that needs to sell tickets to games. To me the multi-ball system certainly makes matches more entertaining as less time is spent staring at a motionless pitch waiting for the ball to slowly come back from the crowd. Rather than remove the system entirely maybe regulation, policing and disciplining of those abusing the system would have been more beneficial for the game.
  24. That's rubbish. Found it really noticeable how much more playing time was lost lasy year in the home FA Cup games where it wasn't used.
