Hi All. After reading a recent post on here myself and a few x team mates of Kevin's are organizing a charity golf day where all funds raised will go towards funding Kevin's care. We have come up with what we think is a good idea. the idea is to raise as much money as possible. Kevin Moore Golf Day We are holding a golf day in support of a former Saints player from the 80’s and 90’s, Kevin Moore. Unfortunately at the relatively young age of 52, Kevin has been diagnosed with Frono-temporal dementia which is similar to the disease Alzheimer’s, the difference is that it attacks people at a younger age. Kevin now needs round the clock care and the objective of the golf day is to raise funds to help support the family and the day care centre which Kevin attends, White House at Curdridge. Kevin moved to Otterbourne in 1985 when he joined Saints from Oldham. He started his career at Grimsby, where his father had also been a professional player. During his time at Saints he played 185 games and scored 13 goals. He subsequently moved to Fulham where his playing career ended and he became stadium manager and manager of the training ground. He has continued to live in Otterbourne and after his professional career ended, he turned out o a number of occasions for his village side, Otterbourne FC. Kevin’s time as a professional was before the big money era that today’s players enjoy. Consequently any support that can be given by fans in recognition of his service to Saints will be greatly appreciated by Mandy, his wife. Kevin belongs to that rare breed of Saints players who have scored for the club at Wembley. He achieved this in the Zenith Data Cup Final of 1992, when we were beaten by Nottingham Forest. Friday 9th April 2010, Meon Valley Marriot Hotel. £100 per head (teams of 3) your 4 ball will be captained by a X player or celebrity. Please note single players who are interested in entering please contact us as there may be enough to make up a team! ________________________________________________________________________ 10.30am : Coffee and bacon on arrival. 12.00pm : 18 holes of golf at Meon Valley's 18 Hole Championship Course,Shot gun start. you certanly wont be paying 50 quid for breakfast and lunch. 27 holes and great prizes at many local courses on a charity day. i play to a decent standard and quindale is ok......its not long but it has improved 100% from a few years back!!....normally its the all the gear no idea golfers who put courses like quindale, but if they play it they end up hacking it to death and losing 10 golf balls.
