Jeez....that was 3 days before I was born!

Broke his leg away to Blackburn if I remember rightly

So the right thing for you to do is to replace it if she does pay up, and not pocket the cash like you first said - is that about right?

Yikes. Wonder what a 1959 v 1959 would do. New cars are designed to effectively 'cut through' what they hit in order to preserve their occupants, hence why this looks so savage I expect.....oh, and 50 years of development. Fifth Gear did a modern Espace v a mid 90's Espace a few years ago. That was also very scary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvoumToSP5c

Are Barclays trying to remove football from the South Coast? Oh well, second time lucky!

Bought him once, sold him twice.....tell you something?

I would imagine that the most likely would be option 2. Option 1 would be tantamount to fraud, and that couldn't happen......could it........? In favour of option 2, the fact that the 'Dr' has been dropped in as Chairman without a penny changing hands, seems to smack of a time buying tactic to (maybe) put Standard Bank at ease, as it seems as though they'd brought forward the repayment deadline to last week (oddly, the day after 'Doc' was made Chairman). The original date was end August for first half of the £35m, and mid Sept for the rest. In the menatime Gaydamak strips the assets. Wonder if there qill be some questions asked of the SFO if this turns out to be the case (of course I'm not suggesting that it will).

The example that springs to mind is Vladamir Romanov at Hearts. Whilst I'm comfortable with everything I've heard and seen so far from ML, I do understand where FF is coming from. The Hearts fans would be able to tell us a bit about having a wealthy owner who can do what he wants, when he wants.

I'm guessing you're only about 8 then? Lee Todd wasn't fit to wash Euell's jockstrap.....or any other player in the history of Saints.

Ho, what I don't get is that you're currently supposed to be losing c. £2m a month, on top of the debt of the club (anything from £40m - £80m depending on what you read). Clearly with big earners off the books the wage bill will go down, and therefore the monthly loss will go down, albeit that there will need to be some sort of outlay on players, probably adding to the debt. Additionally you need a new ground, which will cost anything from £50m upwards depending on how fancy it is. I suspect at todays prices you'll be nearer £75m. On top of this you need a training ground at c. £10m. I get the idea that Gaydamak is trying to recoup as much money as possible by selling the clubs better players, and that this will be reflected in the price of the club coming downwards. However, I can't see that with £40m - £80m debt + £75m for ground + £10m for training facility that the club is going to be worth more than a nominal amount. Factor in that the new owner will have to support the club to the tune of, say £1m a month for around 24 - 36 months whilst a stadium is being built, then you have a serious outlay. If the club's only worth a nominal amount before player sales, how can the price come down any further than zero? I can't believe it was ever worth £60m.

Please tell me you're joking? When you say 'good job at Wycombe'....what do you mean by that? 12 wins in 53 games. I don't have a hang up about someone connected to Pompey taking the job if they're good enough. Unfortunately, you can't say that his record even remotely suggests he's good enough. he lost the plot at Pompey, shown by his ramblings on the telly. His record at Wycombe was poor, culminating in relegation. He's done nothing else, apart from humiliate himself by claiming Wim Jansen was going to appoint him at Celtic. He's off his rocker. If he had demonstrated some previous ability in management, and only Pompey was just a blip on his record, then that's fine. He hasn't.

Who is Micheal Fialka, the propective new owner

I think the problem is that TL has been saying one guy worth several hundred million, and now the indications are it's not one, and the guy who is wheeled out seems to be a bit of an unknown....which is odd when he's supposed to be worth several hundred million. MLT was on Sky earlier this week indicating that there was a plan in place to pay the staff this week, and yet they have gone without. I'd quite like to know who paid the wages last month, and therefore who stumped up the exclusivity payment. If it's shown to be MF then fair enough....but why is it I suspect it was Crouch..... Something just doesn't quite add up with this. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't help but think that MLT may have been unwittingly involved in a dodgy deal. I really hope I'm wrong. -
Something telling in Kialka's answer to the question 'who gets the final say on the manager?'.....'That's something I'm not at liberty to say' he replied. Something's telling me he's not the real money man....

Cyn's out of posts for today, but I'm sure he's good for a one-er! Hope that's ok Cyn?

So, Cyn, tell me again....who do you think it is? More importantly, how do you know it's him?:smt066

Recent form would suggest drawn 10....

To be honest I would rather go out of business than have this clown anywhere near my football club. Someone tell me that Fry isn't taking him seriously....

Yeah, and he'd still manage to **** it up....

I really hate to be a dose of reality....but is it just me that thinks Lowe and Wilde will end up buying the club from the administrators for a knock down price and owning it 100%?

Basset : / Daily Echo : Lowe Did not pick the team

The man is an illiterate. I know he's not much of a speaker, but he makes no sense whatsoever. -
Good shout. Just because the guy speaks well on tv, has spent and absolute shed load of cash and has a glittering playing career behind him doesn't mean the jury's not out on his managerial career. Weirdly, the above could have been written about Bryan Robson.....(well, with the exception of speaking well on tv). He was a good manager too...:---):---)

36,800 shares = c. £10k. or 0.14% of the market capital. Somewhat short of the amount required to buy a controlling stake (or any kind of stake) in a CCC football club

TBF Ponty, whilst I agree Hamilton lost his head at the first corner yesterday, something does smell slightly suspect when he gets a penalty for it. In isolation you can say 'he deserved it' but precedent surely comes into it. Happy to be corrected but I can't recall anyone else ever getting a penalty for something similar at the first corner. Lock ups and shunts at first corners is common place - probably at least half the races it happens. On that basis, I'm not sure you can argue that he deserved it. In the end he didn't hit anyone, and there were other incidents at the first corner yesterday that weren't punished. That, plus the SB incident, does add a reasonable amount of fuel to the conspiracy theory that the FIA will do anything to stop McLaren winning the WDC. IMHO the FIA are going out of their way to taint the sport and drive people away.
