They still have a transfer embargo in place though, yes?

I'd agree with this. So, in summary, PCC approve a loan just after TBH does one, thereby making it a vote winner for them with no risk attached as TB won't sell to the Trust. The string of guarantees will ensure that there's no risk to PCC (in the unlikely event that Chinny hops it), assuming that the PL / TB agree to guarantee the PPs go to the council to cover the loan + £50k interest in 12 months. Chinny will take over. He'll snaffle up the rest of the PPs. He'll transfer the ground to his ownership. He'll run the club on a major shoestring (maybe even taking a profit!). Once the PPs are gone, he'll either flog the club to the Trust (or anyone else who wants it) and lease them the ground, or admin the club liquidating them and develop the land. Nice.

And the quality of football too, to be fair.

The question though is whether he has moved to Forest for the same wages that he was on at Pompey. If not, the norm (as I understand it) is that the selling club pay up the difference between old and new contract. As he didn't ask for a transfer he would also normally get a bonus from the selling club, which I guess he's not going to give up. If he's on the same or better wages then he's no worse off, so isn't out of pocket at all *****il the club folds in 2 years before his deferrals are paid). With DK and TBH, they're stuffed as they will never get the same wages as they're on now. They really can't afford to rip up their contracts.

Chinny's not fussed about being competitive though (albeit Appy probably is). There will always be a string of players willing to play for them.....whether they'll be any good is another matter. He'll pull in 5 loanees via Appys contacts and fill the rest of the squad with their youth team players. The odd donkey dross who's not been picked up (because he's useless) will add to the ranks. Assume their income will be £100k a week over the whole year, including gate money and tv money (other than the PPs). Assume again (rashly) that wages will be no more than 60% at most....they'll be looking to fund their whole squad, managerial / coaching staff, board etc on £60k a week. Not quite the budget they've been used to.

Without a doubt Chinny will be trying to go down the option 1 route. But, to do that he needs all the high earners gone. The club will be run within it's own means (i.e. income, not including PPs). Presumably there's nothing to stop Chinny hoovering up the PPs, as owner of the FC. If so, he gets, say, £9m of his 'debt' repaid, then either sells the ground and club to the Trust to recoup as much as possible of thew remaining debt, or keeps the ground and sells the club, leasing the ground to the new owners. If he can clear £9m or £10m from PPs then it's not such a big issue of he can only carry forward £5m as secured debt to the new company. The question for the FL is whether Chinnys plan is to actually ever pay the football creditors. If, as seems to be the case, the players have agreed to deferrals to be paid over 4 years, what's to stop Chinny taking the PPs and liquidating the club prior to the first payment ever being made? After all, it's not like they haven't got history on that front with the last CVA.... Option 4 could yet happen depending on how the PPs are distributed, how many strings the FL attach to the golden share (i.e. how they enforce their conditions), whether TBH, LL and DK actually leave and, of course, the outcome (or likely outcome) of the Kanu case.

The commentators on the race did, but there were some buffoons after the race asking stupid questions - Cav was riled by one to the point that he said 'do you know anything about bike racing?'
-
In essence Trousers, slip streaming plays a massive part in this. If you look at the peloton, you see the front couple of guys working really hard, and the ones behind free wheeling but going at the same pace. You need more than 4 guys to share the work.
-
Nope. Keegan to Saints.
-
8 on the team in the TdF (and at the World Championships)....one team has a much, much better chance of controlling the peloton than 5.
-
That would have had the same end result. If Cav had been in the breakaway the rest would make sure that it didn't finish in a bunch sprint. They'd have launched attack after attack - one man simply can't follow every attack on his own. It's a team event so, if it was a tactical error, it was a team tactical error. Irrespective of that, Brailsford said they'd do it the same way again. What sunk us was everyone else being too concerned about us to join in the chase...until it was too late. That and the lack of information about how far the breakaway was in front - crazy imo.
-
There were one or two who understood, but some of the questions after the event, and some of the idiots on Sky this morning, clearly have no concept of professional cycling. You can't chase every breakaway, especially with a team of 4 (plus Cav) but, when you need to reel in the breakaway, you need help from other teams, who were too concerned about us until it was too late. There's no way a team of 5 can put the kind of effort in on their own to get the peloton back together.

But the players could get paid in full, or nearly in full if the PPs were diverted to pay them. Of course Chinny wouldn't then be interested in buying, but the PST could step in with their *cough* 7 figure sum and pick up the club. Sure they'd then need to negotiate with Chinny for the use of the ground, or they could just rent a ground somewhere else (although time is tight) and let Chinny fight it out with the council for planning for the ground. Even if this did happen, the bigger sticking point seems to be that they won't be able to meet their payments due to the likes of Wolves for Halford, and Bari for Huskelepp.
-
Saggers is missing the point with the players. They're being asked to give up money to line Chinnys pockets. Knight saying that the well is dry so the players need to understand it...but the well isn't dry. FFS, it's not rocket science.

Welcome PSV....any news on Lens, and a potential deal?
-
If they do survive (IF), it's going to be interesting to see how the FL interpret 'paying football creditors in full'.

Is this a cut and paste from 17 July 2011?

That'll still be the most expensive squad in L1 by miles

That's my station of choice too. The breakfast show's very good, as is Geoff on Drivetime

But the Chinese have been hoovering all these materials up at a rate of knots since then, so would imagine the prices have increased further

Must get my eyes tested...I read the title as 'Being 111', and thought fecking hell we've got some old posters

Who Is The Worst Company you Have Had The Misfortune To Have To Deal With

Santander. By a mile. -
Agreed. The debate would have been around the collar and cuffs instead.

They probably did to be fair...because it would have been true. Anyway, 2 years ago was a one off to celebrate 125 years and was the same as our original kit. As I said, I don't mind the kit, but it's not a typical Saints kit.
