This is the bit I don't get Steve. What exactly are they trying to achieve? Maybe they, as with the other previous owners, have been 'unlucky' with timing (for that read 'stupid') and think they're onto a cash winner because PL riches will mean big profits. Unfortunately the NPC is probably one of the strongest for many years this year. Even if Pompey did get promoted, and they brought in a load of PL cash, that's not even going to touch the sides for an organisation like Saab. Football might be big bucks, but car manufacturing on that scale needs massive investment. So, I just don't get it. Is it just another rich mans play thing?

Is it true what Beatlesaint said about Markus and Cortese dropping the OAP age from 65 to 60 when they took over? If so, would it have been better if they had left it at 65, and then you wouldn't have expected any better? Seriously, I'm not 'having a go', but just curious. For what it's worth, I think those who have been classed as OAPs last season, should be classed as OAPs on an ongoing basis. Notwithstanding that, there would be two ways of looking at this - a) you've been right royally shafted by that git Cortese for moving the goal posts, or b) thanks Markus and Cortese for us still having a club to support, for providing finances to allow the team to compete and play good football, for getting us promoted, and for the 2 years at an unexpected discounted rate.

I don't think 'linked' players are allowed in their squad though (not even Pompey could get away with that). Anyway, they're only a few signings away from having 11 players. Not bad.....

You could probably argue that Tyson was a Cruiserweight too. He was 15st 2lb at his lightest, although did get up to just under 17st on occasion.
