  1. I think the great JC had a soft spot for Saints, he's dead know but (apparently) moves in mysterious ways and his Dad has a few connections too...
  2. Apparently there is going to be an announcement on Friday.....Fact!
  3. Just to put the record straight, there was a firm/crew in with The Charlton lot, you couldn't miss em. This is pretty unusual for these guys to make themselves so prominent. Usually there is trouble away from the ground and most people don't even get to hear about it. There has been a recent nasty history between Charlton and Saints and obviously these boys were here for some action, as i said its very unusual for these type of guys to be so obvious. Anyway the old bill knew who they were thats why they had them cordoned off and they were letting all the other Charlton fans go as they wished. Anyone who reckons those Charlton boys were scared is very mistaken, these guys aren't scared. As for the Saints, well a lot of huffing and puffing with the OB and shouting etc but it was at The Albert that the real Southampton boys were waiting, but to be fair to the police they had it all in control. I left it at Six Dials but didn't hear anything licking off after. So thats the way it is, Football Factory in your face.
  4. Put in 5 grand, could be more though it would probabaly go from my business and that depends on my business partner and my accountant. Disappointing response when someone asked about dividends, maybe he was taking the **** but there should be an element of it being a loan rather than a gift, especially when you are talking about serious investors. Before you all shoot me down it comes down to business and money, i love this club but I;m not stupid enough to just donate money willy nilly, there are certainly more deserving causes in the world for charity. But I'm not saying that I would neccessary want to see a return, but it has to be accountable because if I'd had shares in SLH after RL went i would have soon sold them once he returned to SFC. To put money in without an escape clause in that some muppet decides that RL or MW or Askham or Cowen etc should come back on board is pure folly.
  5. Why do you care? If you're not going then fine, leave it to the people that are. But please don't come on here with this sacrificial bull**** propoganda.
  6. Chap 4: Best buys during Administration
  7. If I have said it once, I have said it a million times, marching will not work, we are not trying to oust a Manager, thats simple and we even did it before we even got one! But to oust a chairman, well, that takes something else. Like a Michael Wilde to ride in and save us, but we all know what happened there. Leon hasn't got the money or bottle and realistically there is absolutely no one else out there, and if there are one or two other interested parties they are probably sitting in the same boat as Leon Crouch. So that leaves the only other option, which is to effectively force the board to restructure, i.e. create no confidence in the two main adverseries (of the fans') so that their positions become untenable, but then what are we left with? The rest of our board, who frankly have got us into this abysmal mess in the first place. Otherwise, we as fans force this club into receivership, because Barclays (or whoever it is we owe) run scared that the majority of the fanbase i.e. customers, i.e. revenue totally collapse, so Barclays pull the plug. And thats assuming that we are that skint, I mean does anyone actually know or is it the great RL propoganda machine in full throttle? We are hardly Man City, thats for sure, but are we that skint? For Wilde to team up with Lowe certainly suggests that they are worried deeply about their investments but did they get back in time to steady the ship and now its tight but okay, unless the fans don't come and tip the club over the edge that is? Then what happens? We get relegated certainly, but by the time this all happens we are down anyway and so we lose 10 points next season, which by the looks of this season could actually condemn us to the bottom division. In the meantime the administrators do a deal with Rupert and suddenly he owns 100% of SFC, and that is the scariest scenerio of all! So whats the answer? I really believe our best hope is LC, it won't be perfect but really, how could it be any worse than now? I mean how could it? I would personally rather go down with LC than RL (so to speak!), at least he is a Saints fan and has at one time or another commited his own cash to this club (directors loan account i am sure, but he's done it!). Otherwise, the board voting out (or the shareholders) the current chairmen and seeing where Askham and co go from there? I am worried about the fans denting the club too much by walkouts etc but at the same time we need to demonstrate an ability of power and unfortunately the most effective way of doing this is by affecting the revenue of SFC (and I still maintain that matchday sales of beer, programmes and pies is ultimately the most effective way of doing so and can be properly organised and supported by many more than the few who (and a big fair play to them) are willing to walk out and miss the match through protest, but we have to be careful, otherwise as well as destroying Lowe and Wilde we will also destroy this club too.
  8. Is she collectimg for our players or management?
  9. Those were the days, who can forget 4-1 at home to Liverpool, 4-1 away to QPR (passed my driving test that day) 3-1 away at Spurs in the Cup and playing 4-2-4, Wallace, Shearer, Matty and Paul Rideout? With Timmy in goal and Neil Ruddock in front of him. A young Jason Dodd and a left back worse than Franny, dear old Ray Wallace (buy 2, get 1 free!) Possibly the best season ever supporting the Saints!
  10. We had a terrible season after we finished 7th, didn't he win the Manager of The Month award and then go something like 20 games without a win? And he tried to quit after we lost to Forest away in the cup, he was down because his dog had died! Askham refused then sacked him later, we narowly avoided going down if I remember rightly. In saying all of that CN was a decent, honest hard working guy and I'd have him compared to the ******s we've had previously, WGS and Pearson excluded.
  11. I dont know if anyone has mentioned that perhaps the most effective forms of protesting is doing it step by step. So we start by the singing and then the marching (to the ground) to protest. Maybe the next step should be boycoting all purchases at the stadium, programme, beers, pies etc. At least we would actually get the point across whilst not missing out on what actually brings us all there. This would be more effective because I think we could convince a lot of people there to participate, we could hand out leaflets explaining the reasoning etc and hopefully (though admitedly we would never be told) the matchday takings would be significantly down. This would hit the board where it really hurts, in the finances and start to make their positions intenable. And, if that did not work then boycoting a atch would have to be next. Above all though, we reall need a leader in all of this. The only other comparable situation was the Branfoot Out campaign and like them or hate them I think SISA did an excellent job in initiating and coordinating the protests to a successful conclusion. We have to be constantly serious about a change, whether we are winning or losing but the protest has to be constant and publisised and to do that we need a team of leaders. You always do, its how this planet has evolved. Anyway, thats just what i reckon for waht its worth.
  12. Pullis was the 17th man on Saturday, I know this because i was on a stadium tour at half twelve and his shirt was in the dressing room hung up. The 16th man is the standby in case anyone from the squad of 16 drops out unexpectedly, thats why he was warming up.
  13. There is absolutely no point in singing 'anti-Lowe' songs at the end, thats just self defeating, its like shouting for the lifeboats when the water is up to your neck! A point and a presense needs to be made consistenly to be eefctive and that includes when we are winning. I think the supportat SMS this season has been incredible, I can;t think of one instance when we turnen on the team or even the manager. And yet we have won ONE game, this surely contricts the argument that protest chantinbg would be detrimental to the team. And besides, these like all other players play to their strengths not the support, if you're good enough you'll win, have anyone ever been to Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge or The Emitates? Intimidating? Hardly. Best teams, by a mile. Hate to say it, really do, but the hardcore down the road make a loud noise, and they're great aren't they? No, not really. So I for one will not feel guilty in venting my frustrations at anytime during the game, the result is one thing but we have to worry about 'the Bigger Picture'.
  14. I can't wait for the next game, I have an invite to the hospitality (I am a season ticket holder) through work, and though I don't want to embarrass my guests, I think I probably will if I am near those c's in the box!
  15. even though the goal was offside they still knew how to put the ball in the back of the net! We can't even score offside goals anymore, let alone penalties, one on ones and headers. Could the last person to leave St Marys please turn off the lights!
  16. You know surprisingly she has so far come across completely the opposite to what I thought she would, she seems somewhat intelligent!
  17. If you're not a Saints fan or even a football fan, why come on here? Work it out for yourself!
  18. Coming from the bloke who has 85 paid days off a year!! See you at Reading, my round!!
  19. Personally I think that action at the ground should be the first step, it was definately instrumental in the Derby (or was it Ipswich?) game where the 'majority' of the stadium participated. If we can organise some vocal protests before, at HT and after the game (and by organise I really mean make sure everyone is aware of what to do) then it would save us (especially the ST Holders) missing out on the reason we go. However i would support a boycott eventually if the above was not effective. But we need a group, an umbrella to co ordinate actions etc, as someone mentioned, the SISA Branfoot Out campaign was eventually effective and we all knew what to do when we played Newcastle for instance, and most importantly even though we had just seen two of the best goals ever! and won the game, we still stayed behind and did it. So though i do want to support the team I still want to vent my anger even if we are 5 nil up at half time because the time and has to get rid of these demons for once and for all.
