Its just been reported that Spurs made a bid of £20 million for Kenwyn Jones back in the transfer window last winter, obviously rejected but has football gone mad? A good player yeah, but that puts him in the same league as Robbie Keane and Torres! Or is it just the usual Harry 'spend as much money as possible to get a result' Redknapp policy? And most importantly did we get a sell on clause??

Maybe it is a builder?

Thats simply not true at all, he was invited down but always wanted to go to Newcastle, we would have taken him otherwise, in fact i don't know if he ever actuqally came down? The goalie story is Shearer at Newcastle.
-
would (almost) have rather gone to FP than his testy.
-
He was staight off if he had the chance, just no one would stump up 1.5 million, they obviously didn't rate him as a legend! As for my opinion, laughing with Yakubo when we were 4-1 down and ducking Downing's equaliser makes me see him somewhat differently to a lot of people. And Stu Saint Romsey, noticed you had just one reply to your original provocation, as everyone seemed uninterested you came back for more 'attention' and got it for some more uneducated drivel. You know when you were organising that protest i thought fair play but since then reading your posts and more than ever today, you are just a bit of a **** really. Au revoir

Last Sunday at Bournemouth International Airport (the portacabin) I bumped into a very successful Southampton businessman and fan (He used to have a box) who is in the same line of business as me, don't really know him very well but enough to say hello and have a quick chat. I did ask him about Saints and he said I certainly wasn't the first, he'd had a lot of media interest because of who he is etc (I reckons he may be worth about 10 to 20 million but I only assume that because he sold his share of the company for 8 and he's subsequently gone on and done (seemingly) well in other business interests etc). Anyway, to the point, he told me that he was offered (or maybe mooted) to buy St Marys (the stadium only) for £4.5M. I dismissed it at first, thinking that there was what, a 25 million mortagage on it etc, but after hearing that the whole shabang is up for 8 or 9 perhaps it is true. To most people this is still a lot of money but to SCC surely this would be a price worth paying to secure one of the city's biggest assets and no matter who comes and goes from the club, we can be assured that the actual ground, which is essentially the fabric of SFC will always be secure.

Don't know if greedy is the right word? They lend money, expect it back and then are faced with the proposition of having to accept a few pence in the pound. Imagine, you lend a mate 100 quid and he then later says, take 6 pence or nothing, you got to remember who is in the wrong here. However, perhaps the creditors need to take a reality check, without knowing figures, its hard to tell.

Hour of need? It seems quite clear that someoine ius going to buy us and the fact the administrator is running the show means that that 'someone' has to have some money, so therefore, there is no 'hour of need'. Lets face it, we've been mugged off again, this club was never going to the wall, I believe only Aldershot and Wrexham? have ever actually gone bust, it was never going to happen to a relatively high profile club likes ours.

So therefore all this Saints Aid stuff and All Star footy match will carry on covering players' wages? I just can't be having that, all prepared to buy a ST but to donate (albeit you are getting something in return... Craig David!) to pay (here comes the cliche), BWP's five grand a week is not on IMO. Worse still, putting bloody money in a bucket. Not once as Mark Fry said, "right, we actually need x amount in x number of days to stay solvent or the club has gone", not once, if that was the case then maybe I would feel differently. If 13K has been raided (as reported) the I fail to see who that has made the slightest bit of relative difference to the solvency of SFC, and with that in mind... "I'm Out".

You couldn't beat Reading away, could you? Well, we did.

God, does anyone care anymore, what difference does it make. They were on the **** the day we got relegated, so what! They were on the **** all ****ing season! Most of em will be long gone soon so who the **** cares about them now?

Schneiderlin - Saints Biggest Waste of Cash Ever?
Noodles34 replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
I'd have to agree, he is wasted at Saints, playing in an inexperienced side losing most of the time. I have watched him and to be honest, Div 1 will not make him better, a spell in the Prem will. I accept that the best players work there socks off, ala Gerrard, Lampard and Fabregas but did Matt? Not comparing him to MLT but like a lot of players, he's more class surrounded by class, who thought Shearer was nothing 'too' special when he left The Dell? -
Lowe & Richards in board room on Sunday at Forest....Confirmed by Club
Noodles34 replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
As we have no reason to cheer on The Saints, can we sing "Swing Lowe" throughout the whole game, surely we have got to that point where it now doesn't matter to "Support the team, not anti-Lowe chanting" rheteric that we had while the team still needed points?? Small minded and pathetic maybe but given the fact that he is there would at the least make him slightly embarrassed, in fact, we have proabably missed the boat in having the traditional fancy dress theme now, tweed jackets and plastic ducks anyone? -

is there any point to this thread anymore?

what, he's balck and from Sowth London?

Just didn';t really get the point of it, didn't think Burnley were really that arsed. Saying all of that, a lot of people on here are well over the top, it was just a few kids egged on by a few hundred (those behind the front lines) and a bit of water bottle lobbing, dont think anyone died did they?

Meeting Thurs 23rd with Trust, SISA, Saveoursaints, 2 MPs, LM and MC
Noodles34 replied to derry's topic in The Saints
You know it seems like we can't even run a fan's forum without sniping, backstabbing and general abuse, God knows how fans would run The Club? (I take nothing away from those who are genuinely trying to rescue the club, its just not going to work though) As for donations, until The Administrator (and only him) says that basically we need £x...K to actually keep going i won't be contributing cash, will buy tickets, would even renew my season ticket (use a credit card for insurance!) today but there is no point in giving cash, it pays wages and Beggbies and if the club gets taken over (and i think it will) then you'd have to say we woukld have donated for nothing. You know, maybe we should arrange to buy the kit and balls etc. and just restart the club, playing at The Sports Centre on Saturdays, we could get some decent players together. Isn't that new Man Utd team doing okay now? -
I'd go for number 3, took over a pile of **** and made it a successful pile of ****, HCDAJFU

er, presuming we stay in touch with Forest until the last day, and that is a big ask!
