at last someone answers the question correctly, because thats the point of it, not MLT going to Wembley, but where do you stop? And speaking of consistency, you'll not going to invite Terry Paine from South Africa and then ask him to pay are you? So where is that consistency? Like all things that start with good intentions, do you really think ML and NC are going to 'renew' their ST's?
-
On the back of another thread in which someone has said that the allmighty one NC has invited Terry Paine to Wembley I remembered back to the intial takeover times and the rhetoric about everyone paying their way etc. So, in my lifetime there has only been one God and he saved Saints many times (more than the other one saved Jesus (not Alex!)), so he rings the Don and says he needs a ticket for Wembley, would you charge him? I'd personally have a spare seat at SMS with his name on it and anytime he wanted to come he could, no ticket, no charge. Yes he can afford it of course, but for all he did for SFC (one club remember, except Oxford and Eastleigh), how could you ask him to pay?
-
Surely he would have to make them pay?

bit peeved, entered the survey but got kicked off after saying I was a 1 (Very Uninterested) in having the Saints Player (had it on a free trial - in which they still charged me!), it then said "this survey is for people who are interested in using the Saints Player" and then shut the window, WTF!!!!!!! It never said that on the email (I'd been randomly selected I was told gleefully), Jesus, you answer a survey honestly and get thrown off!! Does that mean no chance of winning the Ipod?

nice one!

hoofball, are you sure? Not all pretty granted, but some of our football on Tuesday was exquisite, maybe not effective, but good on the eye all the same.

You'll always have grizzling on Football Forums, its called being a football fan. And who is doing the grizzling, initially GS and you, the tread was actually written positevely to start with, only you and a few others are doing the "grizzling"
-
I was specifically alluding to the 'bold' statement about Saints fans. As for loan players, we should be able to afford to bloody buy then now, can'[t stand this loan business, it makes a mockery out of producing your own players for one.

what a load of (as you put it) "guff"

Sorry, just to clarify your position - so you would be okay if we were within 10 points of the PO's? At what point did i say that we were a more "unfortunate club" than the likes of Swindon, Millwall....? And who said we were Britains unluckiest football club? However, to clarify my position, if you think that by spending x amount of money can guarantee you 'instant' success then please give me some examples of 'instant' success. We have come from a million miles behind on what Man City had to gain. LIsten if you think AP is not up to it then your are entitled to your opinion (and to be fair, though i do not agree, your argument is a little more constructive than that of GS, he's just a knob), however please convince me that changing AP is the way forward, I go back to consistently the best teams in this country in the last 10 years? Both had the same manager. Thats not to say that AP should stay indefinately, but less than a season? Who else do you expect to come here with a better track record? Mourinio? Please give some long term solutions to your short term concerns.
-
sorry for being wrong about Fergie, that clearly makes all the difference! So what was our target at the start of the season? Was it seriously the PO's, if it was then whoever set it knows F all about football. Jesus, after what we (the fans, the players and most importantly the infrastructure) have gone through in the last 4 years you really think having AP as manager and buying Ricky Lambert should suddenly make us at least the 2nd best team in the league (the gap between 2nd and 6th being the 10 point we lost) immediately, deluded my friend, deluded!
-
Exactly! This is how GS would do it, AP is rubbish, get rid. New Manager, new players etc, six months we are mid table and so get rid, new manager, new players, 6 months in, 10th, get rid. We had someone here like that before, he was well great that bloke!
-
Man Utd didn't start with - 10 points, a new manager and a new owner, correct me if i am wrong but didn't Fergie nearly get them relegated in his first year? Chelsea have hardly spent a penny this year and City, well on yours and GS's theory should be 10 points clear of the EPL, so it is relative.
-
sorry, you haven't answered the question....
-
Its relative to the division you knob
-
what a knob! So successful you spend most of your time on here eh? Probably cruising Facebook etc as well. But maybe i am wrong about you? What are you/have you been so successful at please?
-
We can't win ugly or dirty and until we can (we need different players to do this at times) we will struggle at the away days of Exeter, Wycombe and Tranmere. Its a simple observation really, there is no other answer. Hopefully AP knows it too otherwise we are ****ed in this league for a long time!
-
well said Martin!

Yeah, they should be getting out the flask and tartan blanket....

I saw that incident, he was hardly attacked, jostled maybe to let someone go who had thrown something at a police horse and then he (the cop) stood back with his arms in the air looking very uneasy (he was a PSCO or whatever those fake ones are called). It was an interesting sight to say the least!

+1 ...

Funnily enough i ran into Nick at the Ticket Office yesterday, hadn't seen him for a long time, had a quick chat about things (we go back to the gool old days of proper (paper reading material) fanzines), nice guy and just doing his best for Saints fans etc. Why on earth people come on here and slag him off for talking to the media (who have no doubt called him) is absolutely ridiculous! Whether he runs the Saints trust or SISA, WHO CARES! God if the likes of SRS are so jealous of him being in the limelight then ring the BBC or Meridian or Sky yourself and put your name forward but please don't come on here bleeting about someone saying something about Saints, and above all.... He is right in what he is saying!
-
Yeah, thats why you're constantly moaning about how bad things are eh? How do you spell 'hypocryte'?
-
Freda Payne - Band of Gold is my choice, maybe its not classed as NS, don't know but a classic to me. Anyway, as someone too young to have been around then its nice to read about the old days following Saints when football 'was' football and the fans were blokes who liked to have a good time and stuck together. I don't think today you get the characters in the fans, its all a bit too 'family' orientated or you get a bunch of 'yoof' who "run on home to their mum". Listen I'm not knocking women and kids etc but I would have loved to follow Saints in the 70's watching the honest 'British' players playing, yeah they might still have been on a few quid more than the mortals but it wasn't so disproportionate like today. Maybe someone could write a book on the 70's away day adventures etc, that would be a good read for those who were there and those who sadly will never get the chance.
