theres no clamping, unless you do get clamped of course. isnt against the law now? Why dont you just get a bus or a train, you work in a city centre FFS!
-
well you could, but today you would get thoroughly trounced from all media angles, the news, 606, talksport, forums etc. As for the litigation, yeah maybe the law is the same, but back in the 80's where were all these injunctions etc? Where were all these 'no win, no fee' legal entities? It is much easier to sue now than back then. And i guess footballers had a better sense of humour maybe, they weren't so iconic back then.

Maybe they had a deal on, obviously you are referring him to be an alcoholic! Guess it was people like you that said the same about the likes of George Burly, you should be ashamed!

Personally, I think it is hard to do a fanzine these days because the fan base is totally different, more middle class families etc, who frankly wont be interested. There is much more chance of being sued by the clubs, who are so much more powerful these days, and so are the players. You only have to look at the whole Giggs affair (so to speak), do you really want a multi million pound footballer on your case. So that would dilute what you could say and who you could take the **** out of. The success of the fanzines in the 80's was because of how raw and near the edge they were, and I can not see people like Darren chancing the made up bull**** that the likes of OTM and TUI did back then. One OTM cover pictured Alan McLoughlin with a comment about 'in the back pocket payments', could you do that now, or accuse the chairman of stashing the club money in his own biscuit tin? You cannot get away with it now, just too easy to sue. The new Red & White (is that what it is called?) fanzine was a a poor substitute for a fanzine, I dont mean to slag the guys off, really i dont, but it was so sterile and boring because they didnt have (for example) a picture of Alan Shearer signing a new contract with a tag line of "great player, loads of money, but still cant get a decent looking wife!" Could you do a "Hope You Die Soon" cover today? Good luck to you Darren, but I think you are wasting your time unless the demand is for match reports, pub guides and "back in my day" articles about great players for the club, Sydenham, Bates etc, but **** me, werent they boring!

Michael Owen signs contract extension for Man Utd

why are we talking about this? -
we have lost much better players than him before, and as always, we will just carry on. Unless you Utd, Chelsea or City, you are a selling club, Jesus, even Utd had to sell Ronaldo!
-
think it did the job though? After that publicity etc. his position became untenable, obviously along with the SISA action too. Fanzines can never take it too far, thats their job!
-
It wasnt The Ugly Inside with that cover, it was On The March - and of course, they did one or two other decent covers back then!!
-
strange, sure I saw him walking in Chandlers Ford just a few days ago, remember seeing him and thinking "theres that old guy that used to run The Dell car park, still going then!"
-
classic mate! You should write for the new Fanzine, it is lacking a lot of this.

For those who care about club finances etc - annual accounts published
Noodles34 replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
If you run a company and want or need to inject capital into it, then you would do it as a directors loan. Why would just put in a load of money with no comeback? Its all about tax and selling the club in the future etc, etc. Directors loans only amount to an issue when the owner wants to get out, which is exactly what happened down the road. Look what SFC have got in assetts compared to PFC, trhere is no comparrison. I can't see any issue with directors loans, and NC was never going to go into DL details to a ****ing fans forum, we are effectively debt free until we need to be sold. -
yeah, it is terrible at SMS, everywhere else you are straight in the car and away and usually home in half an hour, SMS is **** isn't it!

he's no better than Naythan Dyer at the moment, maybe he might be good, I personally (on what i have seen so far) would have taken the 10m (if offered as full cash payment etc, with a 10% sell on fee) and chanced the fact that he'll be average. At the same time, well done Cortese for not selling at the first opportunity (not seen that happen for a long time).

Lowe & Oliver Ltd, still trading, makes me sick to see his name on the vans!
-
it was all tied up with the Walcott deal, Arsenal have 1st option should they ever want to exercise it. Wenger knows that he could be a great player, wasted in this division mind, though we are starting to see the signs, pleany of time to see how he really develops but if we dont go up, I would imagine he will move back to france.

I'm in 45, never done it, too good an opportunity to be missed i reckon

Is this yeas league 1 weaker or stronger than last season..?
Noodles34 replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Whether the leaguie is weaker or stronger, one thing is for sure; if there is a godforsaken Tuesday night away game, Saints will **** it up!
