You know the people saying it was racism are the people posting it here? The article is just presenting the facts.

They're very lucky. Imagine if they had had to start the season on -10pts, I think they'd probably be in much more trouble now. But this just puts them 2pts away from safety, don't see it being any issue for them.

Have we gone back in time 50 years? Being gay was a designated mental illness back then, with all the same talking points. Hopefully it won't be another 50 before we are enlightened on transgender issues. I don't know if it is because I work in a technical field, but my transgender colleagues are highly intelligent and well adjusted people who just happen to identify differently to their sex at birth. If anything, they are mentally stronger than many of my other colleagues, given the shit they have to put up with just going out and about. And as for non binary, that seems a much more common sense outlook than the neurotypical cis view - it's a bit mental to base your identity on artificial gender norms that have no basis in reality, I'm a man so I do DIY, watch football and like tractors. I'm a woman so I like dainty things and the colour pink. It's ludicrous really. Unless of course it is just about genitals. A lot of the time, it's just people being upset about other people's genitals...

Reform taking the racist vote, I think tories made a wrong decision prioritising a trans culture war. They can't even attack labour on economy any more after 13yrs of fucking it up and labour moving to the centre left on economic policy. Doomed.

As in aliens coming to punish disabled people? They've not even mentioned that on the BBC feed.

Naive question, but what's left wing about protesting against war? And what's right wing about football hooligans? Seems like she has some pretty negative opinions on the right wing, despite her position in a right wing government. Perhaps she should be replaced by a home sec who fits in more with conservative values? She seems obsessed with wokery and I don't get why inclusivity has become a left wing thing in recent years. I suspect the tories would have a better chance if they didn't keep attacking the centre, most of whom believe in live and let live.

Central soton, we had half a dozen wheelie bins go over and people's recycling blowing all over the shop. Seems calm and damp now though.

The best thing that could happen is formation of the European super league. Let the super rich have their own playground, and then we could compete for champions of England in the domestic league.

this was during the alan ball period. I remember it well. EVERY game, we started off with a pass back to centre mid, and a hoof up the right hand wing where shipps/flash etc. would chase it. it NEVER came off, I used to swear at Alan Ball EVERY time, and could not believe they persevered with it. comes across in a different light now. i wonder how many times they tried it, and how much money they made...

why do people keep going on about 10 points? if pinnacle buy the club, they won't be buying SLH, just the club = the football club won't be able to come out of admin because as an entity they aren't in admin, so... it will be another 15 points = -25points thats 8 wins and a draw. just to get back to zero. looking at the fixtures, I'd be unsurprised with 16 wins and 5 draws. that would give us a total 53 points, -25 = 28 points = relegation. I wonder if we'd be better off skipping down to league 2 now and starting on zero points. that way, we can get promoted to league 1 and next year we'll be in a better position.

Saints couldn't afford Pearson - it all sounds very familiar..
pingpong replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
way i heard at the time was that HR thought smith was past it and wanted to get rid, and lowe did him a favour by doing HR's dirty work (in an attempt to build some bridges between Lowe and HR). -
we weren't in such a mess when lowe left - otherwise how did we spend 7mill on players when wilde came in? and how could we afford to pay lawrie so much just for some PR? if you look at money wastage over the last few years, lowe's payoff is small fry compared to the irresponsibility of the early wilde months where we spent freely on stuff like LM and expanding wilde's seat, redecorating the boardrooms, buying average players at high cost etc...

maybe he will ban home fans from the ground, then the players can play without the home pressure that seems to make such a difference. or maybe he will fake a stand-down to inject some positivity into the fans, and then when we have won a few he can turn around and say 'only kidding, i just wanted you all to concentrate on supporting the team as you should have been from the start of all this'

I don't know, maybe it was a superior being who watches our every move and brings pestilence and plague whenever we misbehave too much.

or to put it another way. the universe exists (we can see it), so must have been caused by something (deflation of the previous universe) god doesn't, so no causation is required.

hmmm. I flew to work, 5 miles from my home, on the back of a flying squirrel, fuelled by the power of thought - i simply thought of an elephant swimming backwards and it gave the squirrel the strength to support my body weightfor the 72 hours it took to fly the distance. I cannot prove it happened, you cannot prove it didn't happen. still no degree of probability involved? some ludicrous ideas are more likely than others. personally, i think my example above is about as likely as the existence of god, but i have no problem with people who choose to believe in god - i have seen the comfort people get from a common belief and a church community can be very helpful for getting favours etc. from a scientific viewpoint, religion can supply positive emotion as well as the perhaps more prominent negative emotions.

stuff a jaycloth into the overflow (the hole 3/4 up the side of the sink that helps prevent overflowing). press another jaycloth onto the plughole and pump it, or a plunger is better if you have one. pump it as if you were doing CPR. this should give the blockage a bit of a push-pull and you might dislodge it that way. alternatively, go to the supermarket and try some sink unblocker, it's about £2-3 for a bottle and will deal with hairy flange.
