  1. Franny love started before he retired, I remember when Beckham was at his absolute peak, after one half of being pummeled by franny, sir Alex moved beckham to right back to try and avoid the battering he was getting. Same game pahars went insane I think, it was great.
  2. I meant, does tv still get delivered through aerials, and do kids still end up waving coathangers in the air to get a good signal etc. I've not used one for about 30 years and that's what I associated with the original 4 or 5 channels. As I said, it was a genuine question, not making any kind of argument or disagreeing with anything!
  3. Genuine question, does terrestrial tv still exist?
  4. I was at that game, thought he looked alright. Nice little flick around the corner near the touchline. Not in our worst 100 players probably.
  5. Curious to how our antiwoke warriors on the forum rationalise this kind of report, data based, pretty stark. Do they just think black people aren't as competent or can't lead, or will they just grumble about stats and damn stats etc? And do they think it is a waste of money even looking at the problem? it's edi after all, and we know that is woke and racist...
  6. I was remortgaging during the minibudget (literally). At 10pm that day I pulled the trigger on 3.7٪, 5yr fixed. I wonder if you comfy fuckers are forgetting, but rates went crazy. In the following days, lenders removed all their products from the market, and came back with deals over 6%. This then gradually came back down, but still above what I was lucky to get. Without the minibudget, the rises would have been more gradual, giving those affected advance notice and planning time, and staggering the effect.
  7. Every definition is made up. But in this case, its a definition that has been used for decades, and is the older of the two, but it is very dependent on which country you are in and which definition they have adopted.
  8. A lot of goves comments this morning seem to suggest the conservative party is a real candidate for his extremists list. Wouldn't that make it hard to govern?
  9. What a depressing league to be a part of. I think we should stay down until the top 6 tootle off to their super league...
  10. Well quite, and threatening violence is absolutely unforgivable. (Unless you donate 10m to the tories, and then it's forgivable). Also, it was a private meeting, her skin colour (or gender) has no relation to why he finds it difficult not to hate all black women, and also 10m. Did I mention the 10m? Not relevant of course. We should forgive the 10m guy.
  11. It's just caused by different interpretations of the definition of racism. There is a stipulative definition of racism that is based on racism = prejudice +power. There is also the old simpler definition. They are each used in different places / contexts. In Australia, they use the former, hence why this guy apologised: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/mar/10/craig-foster-apologises-to-sam-kerr-after-arguing-her-alleged-remark-to-uk-police-officer-was-racist
  12. Only 8 surely? And 2 games in hand. And Ipswich to play. So it's in our own hands to finish above them.
  13. Celebrating that london is an international business hub attracting people (and money) from all over the world. Aside from tokyo, the major cities are all quite similar. The following cities are all doing slightly better (more diverse/international) than london, but are fairly similar to be fair : new york, Sydney, Melbourne, vancouver, Toronto, miami, la, singapore, dubai. Dubai is the classic example I guess, hardly anyone living there is actually born there, and it is the extreme end of international business - and way too materialistic imo. An example where it goes too far. But london is still far away from that.
  14. Depends doesn't it? If you are celebrating it and see london as an international hub, or whether you think that it is an issue and that only white people should be allowed to live there. Its still majority white, and its still majority british, if that makes you feel a bit better?
  15. At my work we are increasing paternity leave for iwd. It has a major impact on women's earnings when men are able to take their share of caring responsibilities.
  16. Not sure if you are asking in good faith, but it's 17th October.
  17. Can any experts here let me know if there are any other jobs where you can resign after two days and be entitled to a 16k redundancy payment? I thought roles were made redundant, not people? And I thought resigning is not the same? And that usually there is a minimum term? If anyone knows any other sector that works this way, I'd be keen to know so I can do some job hopping? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68503255
  18. Willfully stupid from the Hunt. Most of those jobs are focused on protecting authorities from expensive litigation, or ensuring that authorities fulfill their duties, eg for disabled staff or customers. The amount of time and money they spend on diversity schemes and recruiting people from different backgrounds, which seems to be the government's fear, is minimal. A dozen cases kept out of court would pay for these schemes a hundred times over. Getting rid of them will cost money in the long run, see Birmingham and Southampton for examples where not enough was spent on such schemes, with dire financial consequences...
  19. That's because hadrian was publicly queer, and he built a famous wall. The two aren't linked, the gay history part is all about hadrian. And he built a famous wall. It's only gb news and the mail that have projected the queer history part on the wall and not on hadrian.
  20. If you thought the exact opposite, you could have posted the same article. It's not clear if places are overdiagnosing or underdiagnosing...
  21. He was on. I don't have the tech skills to add a screenshot but at 20secs in you can pause it, and if you look at pitch pattern, you can see he is further back into the dark green than their left back.

Smallbone made a driving run that gave brooks the space to shoot, as well as supplying the cross for Adams goal. He was a key figure, far from peripheral, and helped get the crowd going too. He's a crisp passer of the ball. He also really wants to play for us. We should support him when he plays. I'd be happy with him or aribo playing, it's nice to have two in form players for that position.
  23. Think that's harsh, you are missing the silent majority. I reckon about 35%, maximum.
  24. Sunak has just given a speech that is the very definition of woke, welcoming diversity and celebrating multiculturalism and anti-racism. Not sure how that will sit with some of his backbench. Is he trying to force them over to reform?
