I had a similar sounding issue. I took the computer case apart and cleaned out all the dust. It worked fine when I started up after that. I was aslo amazed at how much dust had got inside it. As with you, I paniced that I was never gonna see my files again, so I also bought myself a removable hard drive to back everything up in case of future problems.

Any of you heard the album 'Pin me down' (band goes by the same name). It's the gutarist from Bloc Party (Russell Lissack), along with a female singer called Milena Mepris. First album I've had for a while that I just can't stop listening too.

Saw them a few years back at some dance event (think it was homelands) one of those bands that are fantastic live. (I won't be hanging around for Stevie Wonder though )

My guess would be that they used the ipad to monitor the race, positions, sector times, etc. There is an iphone app that tells you all this kind of info, it's actually a second or so ahead of the tv as well (I expect it's real time for those there). If you are interested in all that sort of thing it's a pretty good app.
