This is the key point for me. As much as I wanted something to eat, it was no massive issue to wait until after the game and get something elsewhere. But we keep getting told that Saints is being run as a business (quite rightly) yet they never seem to get that faster service/proper level of stock means more ££££££ for the club.

Heehee, Nail and indeed head spring to mind here! I can't speak for everyone else, but certainly for me I can firmly blame drinking several beers on my need for pee-pee and to eat a burger/pie that I would not normally go near at any other time. Also your comment about people already having lunch before a match does not account for the fact that most people these days (myself included) are just greedy and will eat for the sake of it and not because we actually need too!

I have given this some in depth thought and the main reason I can come up with is that people eat at the football because they are hungry. I assume this logic can also be applied to people that go to the toilet at the football (ie they go because they need a pee-pee or poo-poo, not because they are hungry!) Hope this helps to clear things up

On the way in to the Northam yesterday the girl in front of me in the queue looked slightly bemused when she had her bottle top taken from her (I don't think she'd been before!) I said that the best thing to do was to just take a spare in her pocket and even the steward agreed saying it was a stupid rule having to take them away from people!

Yeah I did notice that as well, looked like they’d been printed out on my printer at home. Not food related, but I also thought it was odd that the only other notable change in the concourse was some additional signs hanging down for first aid and ones with arrows pointing to the 'food area' (can't remember the exact wording) but it made me chuckle that it was hanging down about 5 feet away from the food area! If you can't see the food area from five feet away then I don't think you are gonna see the signs either!

Just wondered what people thought of the new improved catering at St Mary’s now we’ve had our first home game? I saw they have changed the balti pie and it’s now a madras pasty. My half time ritual is usually to have a beer, then go get myself a burger or pie, however yesterday both bars in the Northam had totally sold out of all pies and burgers within about 10 minutes so I wasn’t able to get one. Not sure what it was like in the rest of a ground, but seems to me they didn’t maximise their profits in the Northam, I knew a couple of others that didn’t get a pie, let’s hope they do a few more in future! Those madras pasties sure did smell nice though

What usually happens in reality though is that, armed with the knowledge that we wave at each other, if I see one coming towards me I wave and the fooker coming the other way ignores me. So I think, “Right you f**king C**ts I won’t bother again. So the next time one passes I think fook off, fook you, then as they pass me they wave and flash their lights all friendly like, so then I feel bad for ignoring them. So the next time (feeling all warm and fuzzy after the previous wave I received) when I see one coming I wave at it and they don’t wave back…. And so the cycle goes on and on and on……….
