Wembley Tickets - extra tickets also SOLD OUT
thesaint sfc replied to Harry_SFC's topic in The Saints
Absolute bollocks system. I queued for 2 hours and it said an error had occurred so I had to enter the captcha again and rejoin the queue for another 3 hours. When the 3 hours were up I could see lots of individual seats still available. When I clicked on them it said pricing was unavailable so I chose automatic and still it wouldn't give me any pricing. Tried everything and it wouldn't allow me to purchase a ticket so I tried to queue again and then sold out. I'm not too fussed as I'm not a season ticket holder and I've only managed to get to a handful of games this season so I feel there are others who have probably missed out and deserve to be there more than me, but an absolutely crap experience. -
I feel like we're in a similar situation to when Puel was manager. Our league position was good but it was clear as day that we should be doing better with the squad we had and the football was boring to watch. The manager was what was holding us back with his strange antics and its exactly the same with RM. I could spend all day writing about how much his management irritates me, but beyond everything else its the way our team are playing so casually. We could be in the autos now - none of our players except Downes and Bednarek look like they are playing anything but a casual kick about in the park. The ONLY person that can change that mentality is RM and I have zero confidence that he can. He treats everyone like they're his best mate and I think we'd be much better off at the moment with a Big Sam sort of manager who would be giving a few of our players a massive kick up the arse. There has never been a manager at SFC that has caused me to cringe so much in press conferences - I literally can't watch them anymore. I'm sure I'm old fashioned in some ways, but is this really how wet things have become? He's SO sensitive and goes on and on about each of the players as if they're 8 years old and in need of a confidence boost. Sometimes he starts getting protective before he's even been asked the full question and ends up answering something that he's not even been asked. Drives me insane.

Totally 100% agree. Fraser looked knackered from the start yesterday. Brooks should have come on at half time. Stu Armstrong looked absolutely knackered and should have come off earlier for Rothwell (who I thought played well) but Aribo looked absolutely fine and every time he had the ball we looked threatening. We were only progressing up the pitch through Aribo and Stu and he takes them both off. Absolutely diabolical. RM pisses me off as a manager and as a person.

Hull give every team a blueprint to beat us?
thesaint sfc replied to Daft Kerplunk's topic in The Saints
I think we expect some teams to unpick us like that at times of the season but the expectation is that they can't continue to play like that for the full 90 minutes which is exactly what happened last night - in the second half Hull were struggling. In the first half our defence was sloppy - KWP didn't mark his man properly for the first goal. Second was just a complete mess. Then we took too long in the second half to get going. Fraser looked off pace. Armstrong's both looked pretty knackered too. Its tricky as we seem to have a lot of squad depth but the reality is that when we don't play our best starting 11 we don't seem to click. The fact that Downes being injured has had such a huge impact is concerning. If one of our other vital players gets injured then we're going to have a really tough time unless more work is done so we can have people slot in more easily. I'd like to see Aribo and Brooks get a start in the next game. -
The Leeds game when we scored 3-0 and lost 3-4. 19 November 2005. More painful than child birth (probably.)
-
Aribo could be our saviour in place of Charles, no?
-
1-0 Saints Goal from a corner with one of our defenders scoring Aribo comes back into the team and breaks some legs. I really hope Mara gets a start
-
When is Aribo back? Can’t believe how many options we have in midfield.
-
Mara will be our Solanke and get a minimum of 18 goals next season in the prem so don’t worry about it mate.

Didn’t know he was a vegan. Just when I thought I couldn’t like him more. What a man. Explains the decent vegan hot dogs at SMS too.

Sekou Mara - Official: Signs for Strasbourg

He's going to be fucking brilliant one day. Might not be at Saints but I really think there's an amazing footballer in there. Che is doing his usual hard work around the transfer window and I won't be tearing my hair out if he goes and we don't get a replacement. Of course, I'd rather we did, but I still think we've got the quality in our team to get 2nd place without Adams and I think giving Mara more game time could really unlock his potential. -

remember when you would type c*nt and it would be replaced with budgie? I miss those more simple times. Bath tub girl was all the rave as well. -
What are some totally bizarre decisions you've seen over the years? It's always amazed me that more wasn't said about Leon Best scoring an own goal in our Championship playoff game against Derby and then being asked to be the first penalty taker which, obviously, he completely missed. Burley really did make a number of completely weird and probably alcohol infused decisions. Great video for anyone wanting to reminisce - bloody amazing game -

That's the one! Who died? 😲 -
I was never sure if he was red because he cared or because his diet consisted mostly of burgers and booze. Same with George Burley. Can't believe either of them are still alive tbh.

Some names I remember: St Landrew - I won a radio in a quiz which I never entered once and gave it to him. Ponty - he talked the other mods into making me a mod even though I'm an imbecile. Hope you are well wherever you are Ponty. hypochondriac - think he's still around? Jillyanne / Jillsaint - she was a bit of a knob head saint_stevo - legend webmaster@saintsweb.co.uk - never really chatted with him on Saintsweb but he always sent me an email wishing me a happy birthday which was nice MasterBates - legend essruu - micropenis SaintLee - lovely chap Pancake - just remember lots of text Dark Sotonic Mills- serious chap Plastic Saint - used to make me laugh and had about 40 personas. -
Brilliant - well found. Weird that in my memory it was the greatest goal ever scored. Not quite but a good one 🤣 Also reminded me to rock my body which is something I'm often forgetting to do.

thesaint sfc what happened to that bellend -
Totally agree. I always thought he was class. Signed him for £150k and he scored some really vital goals for us. I'll never forget going to Luton away and I'll never forgive some of our fans for some of the racist shit they were chanting at him. People just hated him for the sake of it.

It seems to me that we play up to the final third and then we're too scared to lose possession by trying to do anything clever. Our last few goals have come from people breaking out of this system and actually attacking. KWP is confident enough to get stuck in and do this and he's our most proficient attacking minded player at the moment. I've actually been pleased with Edozie - he didn't have a great game yesterday but he does at least try to attack sometimes. I think the passing it around system works up to a certain point but its discouraging a number of our attacking players from actually attacking at the moment.

I'm trying to find probably the best goal I've ever seen in person from a saints player. It was the 90th minute I think and he pretty much volleyed it from the halfway line. I was about 15 so my memory is a bit hazy. I've had a good look through youtube and can't find anything.

I don't think the fans are expecting instant results. A few unexpected draws, maybe even a tough fought 1-0 loss here or there against clearly worst teams. Its the fact that on paper we should be a really good team but on the pitch everyone looks completely lost and some of our players are putting in gutless performances. The manager seems like a really nice bloke but I don't think thats what we need to get this team working. They need a rod of fire shoved up their arseholes - most of our team were premiership football players and I'm sure still consider themselves worthy of that - the football we are seeing is absolutely dreadful. To consider they are professional footballers being paid insane amounts of money there is nothing but anger that can be felt by the fans at the moment.
