Having empathy is fine, posting "get well soon" on a discussion forum that neither Glenn or his family will ever see I do find that a little strange but Taking offence because Saints haven't tweeted about it? Getting upset because someone mentions Karma? That's not empathy.

The outpouring of public grief for every "Famous" person is beyond belief these days. The vast majority of people have never even met these people and indeed was the situation reversed the celebrity would, in most likelihood, not even acknowledge it. I don't see what's wrong with talking about his beliefs and relating them to his current situation. People need to get over themselves.

TBF I reckon that will be everyone's first thought on hearing the news!

The system was always fundementally flawed. Buying players who are not at the standard and hoping they develop enough to be able to sell them? We just ended up with loads of players who are not good enough as all those that were good enough got sold

Southampton's wretched home form a recipe for relegation
Saint-Fred replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Isn't going to accept failure? He already has...last season was an abismal failure..and what did he do? Nothing ....Read is still here...Ralph continues peddling his ****e and fat Kat keeps on munching the mars bars... He bloke appears to have no clue about running a successful club so he is leaving it to the idiots who have run the place into the ground. The sooner he goes the better..we don't need someone with money, we need someone who has a clue what he or she is doing. -
Lol 4! They have done well...Brighton beating Newcastle is a good result

He is following the BFS school of management technique! If he follows he model correctly he should also only have to work 6 months a year and will get every Xmas off!

The thing about a super league is that someone still has to come last....do you think Spurs want to be in a league where they will just be the whipping boys for the teams with far bigger resources? Pactually they will probably do it just for the money, like teams going into the premier league...it's not with a view to compete, it's just to hang in there and pick up 100m...as you said it's business and nothing to do with sport anymore.

"#no one came to see the Chelsea....came to see the Chelsea, no one came to see the Chelsea" and repeat

Been saying this for a while. The league is really poor. It is now getting to the same point as all the other leagues where there are a few teams with all the money and the rest are ****e. I disagree with the people saying it's because we aren't winning. The dream of every football fan that one day their team might just be the team which does a Leicester is dying by the day. Man City got 100 points FFs how is that not an indication of how poor the league is? It was argued Messi couldnt do what he did in the premier league..he could now as these days its the same as La Liga..a handful of tough games then the rest of the season play the cannon fodder. As for we would be happy if a sugar daddy took us to the champions league? How is that sugar daddy investment working out at Everton? There are very few people with the resources to take one of the also rans and win the league now. The premier league reaction? Give the top 6 a bigger share of the overseas rights to increase the gap...

Great strategy turning us into stepping stone club turned out to be!
-
Not sure Les matters, whilst Goa is in charge we probably have no chance with or without Lea. If we are going to have someone who can't invest as an owner they need to have a clue about running a decent football club...us and West Ham must have the worst owners in the league!
-
****ing ****.....sack the board, sack the board, sack the board... Hughes may not be the solution but he ain't the problem. Goa should **** off and die along with the fat ***** who ruined our club.

I think you proved my point...not many good signings on the black box side? Wasn't Mane arecommended by RK after seeing him in Europe previously and Toby came because of RK. I don't think it's the players signed anyway it's how the managers have utilised them.
-
Obviously not as they wrote that song before football came into existence in 1992.
-
I would disagree about Mitchell, the managers we had at that time utilised the talent to display them at the peak potential. Perhaps the struggles of some since hey left has demonstrated this? The managers since Keoman have made good players look average (Puel TBF had some players looking better in his system but others underperforming) but I think that's the biggest impact on selling on fees rather than poor recruitment. In addition if he was so "on the pulse" with super signings, why did RKs team come from his old team/old league/players his teams had played against rather than random signings Mitchell found with the black box?
-
I would predict a 3-1 home win...Brighton aren't great on the road and an early goal would ensure a comfortable victory I think. We aren't great at home but there are 3 or 4 games I would really fancy us winning at home this season and Brighton is one of them.
-
This is absolute rubbish. The premier league is no more competitive than any of the leagues you mention. In 26 seasons on 6 teams have won it. If you take into consideration the two outliers which are single wins by Blackburn and Leicester then it's 4 teams in 24 seasons. Last season Man city got 100 points. The premier league is as unbalanced as all the other European leagues.
-
I would agree with those predicting a defeat by a two goal margin.
-
Unless they have moved the away fans since I last went, Leicester have the away fans in the corner and to the side, not behind the goal.

I am not sure what people were expecting this year? We are in a slump second only to Huddersfield and just because the season restarts and we are level on points it doesn't mean we are suddenly better than last year. I didn't think today was too bad, played some OK football at times but the lack of a cutting edge, the lack of any mental strength to see out a game and the lack of confidence remain from las year. If we don't start winning at home soon we really will be in trouble. I said it before, and lighthouse disagrees, but every team will be looking at us thinking they have a chance of three points at present. That brings it own issues as even Cardiff aren't going to be afraid to play us and will be targeting our game as a "must win".
-
I am pleased for him. One of our best players since he joined. Criminally misused by the managers in the last couple of years and some fans?...well what can you say, it just shows how much they know about football.
-
People fail to grasp that the margins at this level are small and that momentum can play a massive part in success or failure. We had it, Puel lost it, and we are currently in free fall. The stats over the last year suggest we are going down (no one is left with a worst record than us- apart from Huddersfield) unless someone can turn it round. Whether two wins will be enough to turn around two years of decline remain to be seen. My fear is the leadership at the top is too weak to do anything about it. The good news is Huddersfield and Cardiff are rubbish so should fill the bottom two so we are fighting with about 9 other crap teams For the last place. We should have enough quality to stay up but whether a team which has for example, all its CBs slagged off by the fans*on a consistent basis can get that confidence back remains to be seen. *do the players really care if some random fan slags them off or do they even know? Well judging by recent comments- some fans view of Redmond has certainly been noticed!
-
Tough one to call, can't see us scoring more than one can't see them not scoring...so 1-1 would be my prediction.
-
This is a bit hypocritical isn't it? It's Disrespectful if someone else says it but it's ok for you to slag off players you don't like? Perhaps you'd like to support all our players in future?
