Agree but what he does deserve is his place in the England squad and to forego that due to others conduct is something I do not understand, he clearly puts his son above any other achievement to date and when he is asked the question in years to come about representing his country in the world cup I think he will struggle to justify his decision (all this is, of course, easy for me to say)

Have listened to the interview 5 times now, I'm no clearer on how some have intepreted it to mean he was or is about to go I just don't think he was pleased with the slant on questions put to him so is more a reflection on the interviewer.

I think the still comes just after impact with Ramseys leg firmley planted, don't see any intent from Shawcross, his studs are not up and this is just an unfortunate incident, pleased Ramsay has had a successful operation and wish him all the best. For an intelligent man Wenger needs to stop being so reactionary, let himself down and fuelled the situation unecessarily, protect your players of course but it was clear for all to see Shawcross was in bits afterwards and for him to infer intent is wholly wrong.

Equally all of the above can become a nightmare for a manager.
