Ottawa Saint

Grew up in Hythe and moved to Canada in 1967 when I was 12....residing in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada....was back in Soton last September and saw the Crystal Palace match.

I received an email from the Saints Retail Manager today.....he is looking at the possibilities of selling the track top with Southampton FC on the back after hearing my suggestion.

I have to say, when you go to a pub here in Ottawa to see a game, you see many jackets with Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona, Juventus etc. on the back. There is even a Pompey supporter who proudly wears a jacket with POMPEY across his chest. In my opinion, the Saints are missing the boat here on promoting team identity. Whatever happened to the embroidered "SAINTS" that was on the back of shirts near the neck ? I just may end up buying the red track jacket when I am there in 2 weeks and bringing it home to Canada and get Southampton FC put on it.

I heard back from Leighton Mitchell, Head of Retail at SFC...here is his response: , I can now confirm that the track jacket which was worn by the players last weekend is now available to purchase via the online store. This version will not have Southampton FC on the back.

I noticed the Saints were wearing their red Adidas tracksuit tops at Norwich with "Southampton FC" on the back. Does anyone know if the Saints Shop is selling these ? I live in Canada, and three emails to the Saints Megastore have gone unanswered.

Thanks to all the responses. We will be walking to the stadium from the train station and then back to the station after the match. I am originally from Hythe, but my Canadian friend has never been to a Premiership game, so I wanted to show him how the Saints fans party pre-match at some of pubs on the way to the stadium. It has been 17 years since I last visited Southampton....so all your help is greatly appreciated.

I am travelling to the UK from Canada for holidays, and will be going to the Crystal Palace match with a Canadian Mate of mine. Which are the best pubs around St. Mary's I can take him too ?

I wish The Saints still sold their large flag in the megastore, I have been looking for one for years !

I hope they incorporate "Saints" on the back of the jersey as well as in the socks, like they did a few years ago.

I should of mentioned I go winter camping with a bunch of supporters for Watford, Celtic, The Skates, Spurs, Boro and they all bring their club flags.....it is time to show the Saints co ours !
