  1. David has done well for a player who has been looking to move on... If we got 1.6m for him, I would be happy to see him leave, thank him for his efforts, and move on
  2. That makes VERY exciting reading :-) Very happy today
  3. Come on... this is england, we dont need to actually find someone guility before forming an angry mob.... now where's my pitch fork??
  4. Fry is administrator of the PLC not the football club, surely the football club can still offer contracts, they may well be based on the club (as an assist) being bought from the PLC but all the same I cant see this being an issue when OFFERING the contract.
  5. While I agree Nick, and while I've never been Leons biggest fan this is an absoultely fantastic gesture and I for one am extremely greatful.
  6. What an absolute embarrassment this is! McMenemy, Crouch, Wilde, Lowe, the Daily Echo... all as bad as each other. Bickering like school girls... all of these parties should take responsibility for the current state of the club. Not only that... they continue to drag this clubs name through the mud by the pettiest of arguments! This has always been about egos, and now they’re all trying to salvage what little respect they can from the fan base, unwilling to accept the truth that they are infact all FAILURES! They all claim to have the clubs best interests at heart, yet absolutely ALL of them fail to see that this bickering continues to divide the fan base and damage the harmony of the club! Just embarrassing! Roll on the new owners, hopefully no one will care to listen to this lot then and the world will be a much better place when I don’t continue to hear the names which I’ve grown to despise!
  7. Football has a drinking culture FULL STOP... this is not limited to our club, nor the division, nor our country. Sad truth that young men with excessive amounts of cash enjoy living it up. I've heard stories, straight from the mouths of professional footballers about playing with hangovers and having "their best game"
  8. Because the thread title does nothing to suggest the content....
  9. COMPLETELY agree!!! This rule is a disgrace!!!!
  10. i've always had a softspot for Stockport ever since I saw them pull off a giant killing in a cup comp with dave Jones as manager and Paul Jones in goal... got a feeling Lee Todd played for them as well? Anyway, sorry to hear that... although only another 22 clubs to fall into administration and we'll be top by christmas haha
  11. nope I'd start following Eastleigh - I would look out for the AFC Southampton results, I might even attend a few games if they got good... but I wouldnt surport them
  12. The banter is all part of being a football fan IMHO... Those jokes are quiet good, I work in fareham so I get abuse all the time... I'm just soaking it up at the moment... it wont be long till I can get my own back
  13. will be at Burnley & Forest games
  14. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We'll be punished regardless though? If the league was worried about clubs getting their deduction when they're pratically already down they should have moved the date to the middle of February... I cant see how they can say, seeing as we're past the cut of date, that the point deduction can apply this season... when the whole reason they've set that date is so it isnt!!! I cant remember the exact date of the top of my head but lets say March 24th, it should be... club goes into Admin pre march 24th... deduction implemented that season, after march 24th... next season... regardless of league placing!! If the league are so concerned with clubs "doing a leeds" then move the date to the middle of feb, either way, we're in a lose lose situation! *PS Legod, that wasnt a rant at you obviously, was aimed squarly at the "league"*
  15. double post
  16. I remember saying something very similair about the Championship.... we will walk this.... OH?!
  17. As the insolvency event occurred after The Football League’s deadline of the fourth Thursday in March, the points deduction will take effect either: 1. In the current season, if Southampton avoid relegation to League 1; or 2. Next season, if the club does not avoid relegation. We're down either way...
  18. I'm a season ticket holder and this will be my first away game of the season, as it will for all those that sit around me and have season tickets too...
  19. I'd put across the arguement that McGoldrick is still improving at just the same rate as James... Proof I think that if we manage to keep this team together we will have a good side. Gillet before his injury looked as though he's still improving, Lallana was a different player yesterday than in recent games.... Dont want to take that away from James, who in recent weeks, has improved drastically!
  20. made me chuckle.... GOOOOOD AFTERNOON SIR...
  21. I'd probably start watching Eastleigh & take some interest in AFC Southampton if it came about, but quiet simply, it would NEVER EVER be the same I cant even think about it
  22. Although we went down, the atmosphere we had in our relegation season at home to Norwich was for me just breathe taking. When Henri Camara scored that goal, the roof was lifted off St Marys... I remember getting goose pimples! beating Man Utd is always nice, I remember turning to my little brother when saints beat united 1-0 just before we took the corner, and telling him that now would be the perfect time to score, then beattie got his head on it :-) Also players playing for the shirt, I remember away at west ham when Beattie got the winner right towards the end of the game to win 1-0, and he just stood in the goal mouth screaming with delight... always nice to see passion from the players.
  23. Has to be the last game at the Dell. I also remember listening on the radio, when we stayed up on Goal Difference & Man City went down (I think) i cant remember what year that was?
