I'd be ****ing Ecstatic!!! What an achivement that would be! To take a club from absoulte ruin, a club that lacked direction, were rock bottom, where the playing squad was nothing short of dire and to turn it round in 10 short months would be sensational in my eyes! Something extremely exciting is happening at our football club, I believe we're on the verge of a fantastic era! Money wont buy success that shrewd management will and I'm of the belief that for the first time in years we have the right people in the right posistions. No one expected us to get promoted this season, so I dont know why people are getting disapointed. Sit back and enjoy this season for what it is, a season of Consolidation that at the moment is bringing more excitment than we've had in a long time....

Absoultely, You'd like to think that the football league as a members association would try and help one of its members rather than punish them. I understand that they're trying to make sure clubs avoid administration but IMHO there are better ways. Really feel for the Palace fans, and I'm sure they'll be gutted to see their prize assests leave which they will now of course

Best Squad in League 1

That was 1 of the goals that sprung to mind... immediate reaction was "you can tell he learned to defend corners at Saints" lol
-
Agree about Mills, but for me Crainie has found his level. Seen him a few times for Cov this season and he has been at fault for a few of the goals they conceded
-
Without ANY DOUBT AT ALL the best fans I have seen at St Marys. The atmosphere in the away end in 2007 was nothing short of phenomenal, I would have happily joined the back of one of those conger lines :-)

If Stern John features tmrw, what reaction he is likely to get?

A journeymen who done a good job for us, will get a small ripple from me... nothing more -
I would be happy with a Draw to be honest, not sure if away goals count but in case they do i'm going for 2-2

MK Dons will be extremely tough to get past over the 2 legs, I'm not counting any chickens yet!

Neal Trotman loan move to Huddersfield Town.
Dan Johnson replied to mightysaints's topic in The Saints
Trotters loan was ideal for both parties & he done well for us. I think towards the end of his deal it became apparent that he still has a fair few weaknesses to his game. If we still hadn’t signed a centre back then I think yes, it would have been a mistake not to renew the loan as he would have done an adequate job for us. However with the players we’ve signed I think it’s clear that we’re trying to push on in terms of quality and I think the players we’ve signed will do a better job for us. Best of luck to him, one of the most productive loan signings we’ve ever had -
Looked decent last night, wasnt troubled, could do very little about the goal and looks to have grown into the posistion a little more. Fully confident in him as a reserve keeper

If I were Pards... Sign Trots & Antonio so there is no risk of losing them, both are playing as if they want to be here, both I expect would jump at the chance just about arranging fees. Offload (If possible) Saga Molyneux Pulis Gillet Forecast Lancashire Sign another quaility striker & assess squad for injurys/lack of depth

In the words of ole' Blue Eyes..."And now, the end is near..."
Dan Johnson replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
In a way I feel sorry for them. I don’t want them to succeed, I do want them to fail to the point where we become the "dominant" force in the south again, but I don’t want them to go bust or out of business... I’d prefer them to fail catastrophically because of the awful football they play, not because of their impotent business sense... that’s already been done once on the south, all the same if this nudges them just below us & that’s where their deterioration ends... so be it. Football would be nothing without derby games & banter... -
Player power, if a Prem club comes in for him, he could be easily swayed. I hope he's not the type, I hope he realises he could be a legend in the making if he continues this form

COYR W00000000000T!!! Super Adam Lallana!!! I really hope at Christmas we're in a position where it looks like we could push on to the play offs so he stays... Really starting to forfill his potential

Great point, onwards and upwards

Ron, I was trying to keep it as balanced as possible to keep it in perspective, I wasnt calling him a liar, but at the moment can we be fully confident this was an isolated incident? I totally understand your point about personal gain, and that he could earn more going to a big club rather than making small money at a small club and subsidising with bets The point i was trying to make was, as a leader and a hero of mine I always envisaged all the blood, sweat and tears he put into his game was because he loved Saints as much, if not more, than i did. Why I'm not questioning his undoubted loyalilty.. or indeed his love, and while this may sound contradicting, it does sadden me that he may of put that effort into the team not because of the reason I hoped, but because he was worried of losing 10k (for example) I know this 1 incident cant take away everything he gave us, but this investigation could open the flood gates. Of course, if it does turn out to be an isolated incident, it will eventually all be forgotten... however, at the moment, I do feel IMHO that its tainted him some what Dan

I agree. For me, this has shown him in a less than sincere light. Some will argue that after all he’s done for the club that he’s maybe entitled to take liberties, but for me he’s abused his position and that goes some way to diminish the faith I and so many installed in him. While I’m perfectly aware that placing a bet on winning a throw in is a relatively minor liberty to take, what’s to say he hadn’t been taking more in his time? When I saw Le Tiss play out of his skin I’d like to think it was because he was doing everything he could to win, rather than doing everything he could to prevent losing a bet. His persona was selfless; sacrificing what could have been a glittering career at a big club to stay and help us... our talisman. If we find out he wasn’t so selfless & was out for personal gain... will we all still see him in the same light? I am not so sure.

Unconvincing short-term loans - Trotmen unconvincing? Signing non-league players - we havent signed any!? ruined the club - cant ruin it much more than it was before he got in!!
