Pellé getting some stick from our fans.....fair or not?
Dan Johnson replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
It has nothing to do with it, like I say his front play has been exceptional at times. I just dont like players who gesture all the time, rather they worked to get the ball back. At least once on Saturday he turned his back on play because he was upset with a pass, yet the defenders touch was poor and he'd have been in with a chance of winning the ball back. Steven Davis had run from midfield to try and win the ball back with pelle's back turned and had a little pop at him for turning his back. It's nothing major, not worth the stick he's getting but it is frustrating -
Pellé getting some stick from our fans.....fair or not?
Dan Johnson replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
The only problem I have with Pelle is his continued posturing & sulking when either he isn't played in or when a cross isn't good enough, he must get frustrated being a lone front man and not getting the service but he gives the ball away just as much with little flicks and poor passing. Maybe it's impossible to expect everyone to knuckle down and get on with the game who ever loses the ball. Either way I think his contribution has been good up till now, some of his front play is exceptional -
I was happy :-) "Was on my wish list at the start of the window :-) Surprised people are ****ed at this? It's a solid signing, a player with Premier League and Champions League experience"

not a table but the revenue streams for top 10 are listed on this SSN artical

I'd suggest that a £29m gap between us and Newcastle is still pretty significant, I mean it's nearly 25% of our revenue Real Madrid got £43million for winning the champions league (see below) http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2117799.html Looking at those figures we'd need to qualify & reach at least the quarter finals of the champions league to match the revenue generated by Newcastle, unless we can significantly increase our match day\commercial revenue...

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! thought Harry Reed was exceptional!!!

Possibly all of Schnderlin, Alderwielder & Wanyama may only miss 1 premiership game in Newcastle this weekend. May not have too much impact on our quest for Europe

Premier league games

In Uniteds case that doesn't include Falcao, Di Maria etc!! Wonder how that compares now?! Although I suppose the likes of Ferdinand, Giggs, Vidic have all left who must have been on high wages also

Phil Neville predicts Saints in Bottom 3 at end of season
Dan Johnson replied to CalneSaint's topic in The Saints
This proves just how nonsensical football journalism is, if the stories not written on the pitch it's not worth reading -
International break after Newcastle this Saturday and we don't play again till Swansea at home on the 1st Feb so two of those weeks we aren't playing, if it's three weeks from the injury then he may well be back by Swansea although guess it's wise to say the week after so he may only miss 2 games

We will probably need to win on the last day of the season to get champions league and Man City will have to win to stand any chance of winning the league, if it goes to the last game I'll be gutted!!

Why is Gerrard wanting to leave Liverpool though? Maybe their objectives have changed. They were looking to be a Champions League club, I believe? Do I feel sorry for the Liverpool fans that a legend is leaving? I don't have sympathy, no Koemans comments about Gerrard are surprising but then I suppose It's the nature of it. The players will want to compete at the highest level they possibly can.

Our first choice keeper. 3 of the back 5 that drew with Chelsea. JWP/Cork/Schnderlin... not good enough to beat Ipswich? Reed Very good against a strong Everton side, people calling out for him to get more games Long was immense against Everton and will cause all sort sorts of problems through the Center. along with blooding 2 rated young players?? Only question marks over that side would be Mayaka & Isgrove in my opinion.
-
Personally I would as the game comes so soon after Arsenal, we'd risk fatigue and muscle stress injuries I think the following would still do a job Foster Targett Yosh (he leaves after Ipswich game) Gardos McCarthy JWP Cork/Schnderlin (seeing as he's missing the arsenal game) Reed Isgrove Long McQueen/Mayaka

Maya Yoshida wants a new deal at Saints
Dan Johnson replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
i don't think anyone is suggesting that Yosh be first choice, he is however a great option as 3rd choice. He is allot better than people give him credit for! He's not the most composed technically but he is a great out and out defender! I think the fact he's from an unfashionable footballing country works against him, if he was Italian, Spanish or French I think people would be crying out for him to stay -
Sheff Utd 1-0 Saints Post match carnage.
Dan Johnson replied to Edmonton Saint's topic in The Saints
Some of the comments on this thread are as laughable as our performance tonight. It's not been great these last 3 weeks but those saying we need to ask questions of Koeman & that we're Cerys for relegation should be embarrassed -
Koeman must fancy Yoshida over Gardos, it's not like Koeman doesn't have defensive pedigree so you have to respect his decision. I think Yosh is better when he grows into games, it's still a relatively strong 11 although no options off the bench. Mane needs to get a McNair or Valencia. He had a tough day up against Zabeletta (best right back in the world) but think he could be the difference tonight

Is that David Brent asking the questions?!

I very much suspect this is a direct response to former Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli's interview on Talksport Monday Morning, where he said that Spurs scouting network is a "Joke" http://talksport.com/football/exclusive-tottenhams-scouting-network-joke-around-world-claims-comolli-141110123688 I wouldn't be surprised if this was a PR leak to try and appease the fans who are turning on both Levy & Poch due to their poor start.

Really enjoy match day uncovered. I keeping seeing two old mates (kit man Mark Forbes & Keith Bell) Keith was Chairman of Compton FC up until last year, where I played & managed for the last 15 years, Mark played for the vets. Good to see them enjoying their jobs! Makes me ITK as I have sources in the dressing room. First bit of insider knowledge, if Keith sweeps the dressing rooms I can confirm he'd do an excellent job

Steven Davis signs contact extension until 2018
Dan Johnson replied to Mikey88's topic in The Saints
Great move by the club, cracking player, has anyone said he's hugely underrated yet? If he was foreign he'd be playing for a top 4 club, good job he's an unfashionable Irish player..Davis has Pedigree, all be it for Rangers, but he's won titles and knows what it takes, for him to say the following I think speaks allot for the mood in the squad at the moment. Good vibes "Nobody wants to stand still, we want to get better, that goes for the team and myself. I’d like to win trophies here and continually try to improve our league position. I feel we can do that at this club" -
You can move up north, live in a bigger cheaper house, watch the same stand of football, cheaper, drink the same beer, cheaper. You will have to start watching coronation street, eating hotpots and put up with the bleaker job prospects though. It's nothing to do with football really, just shows the major disparity of the national economy. Be thankful we live in an affluent area
