Schneiderlin Joins Manchester United (Official)
Dan Johnson replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
That makes no season seeing that we only paid £1 million for Morgan? A transfer fee has no bearing on the players ability in truth... -
The facts will come out once he's signed for either Saints or Spurs, until then we can make no assumptions! We have no idea what is going on, so accusing the club over under reacting is ridiculous at this stage

I think it depends who we class as striking options over attacking midfielders\wingers as to whether we'd need him. You could argue that we have the following striking options already Long Pelle JRod Juanmi Mane Gallagher Mayuka Not saying that that they're all better than Guidetti though.

"Note that the direct lateral, also the international class of machines, ended the contract in 2016" Clear as mud -
I suppose it's how you define "impact" If it's by media attention then yes, Grealish has had more of an impact. If however it's by contributions to team and performances on the pitch then it's JWP.

I wonder if Hull fans (who were probably rubbing their hands together when they received £12m) still think it was an over the top fee... Long would have kept Hull up with his Goals, he would be worth allot more than £12m to them now...

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
Dan Johnson replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Can't believe some are arguing that Liverpool isn't a step up from us! They may have only finished 2 points above us and be in the same European competition as us, that unfortunately is where the similarities ends!! They are a massive club with global appeal and are in a different league to us financially! I'd like to see the same people argue that Stoke/Swansea as just as big as Liverpool -
"Jordy Clasie state next summer for a farewell from Feyenoord. Although the captain has a contract until 2018, but has put his sights on a new employer. The fact that the club next season is not active in Europe rose for the midfielder last road bumps. He can not develop itself at Feyenoord. For Clasie has long been interested. FC Porto last season offered eight million Euros, where Feyenoord ten wanted. Now include the Southampton manager Ronald Koeman - as morgan schneiderlin leaves - Zenit St. Petersburg and AS Roma in the market for international and Feyenoord playmaker of Orange"

Our On-the-Beach mentality is a f**king disgrace
Dan Johnson replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Think allot of this is pretty harsh on the squad TBH. Not allot of people had us finishing anywhere near 7th at the beginning of the season regardless of how we finish. It's been a huge achievement this year. The performance levels seem to have dropped inline with the probability of getting 4th, I think when you look at Tottenham they seem to have suffered the same fate. We look mentally and physically exhausted & injuries to key players hasn’t helped -
Defending for the second was utter sunday league, worst I have seen us play this season!!!

Agree with that, although I think you have to share the blame between Yoshida and Bertrand for their second. As a centre half pairing, you don't want too much space between Yoshida and Fonte. If Yoshida was all the way over marking Chadli then there would have been a bigger gap In the middle, which is potentially much more dangerous. I think when you're getting hit on the break the full backs have to come In narrow to close that space up and force players out wide. Bertrand was too wide for me which opened up the space for Chadli to run into. Although I don't think Yoshida tracked his run early enough. Yoshida was excellent yesterday, as was Bertrand.

Victor Wanyama tells The Sun that Arsenal want to sign him
Dan Johnson replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
One of those things. If the club want to be ambitious then they need to sign ambitious players. Some of those players’ reputations will rise quicker than the clubs, I see no harm in them wanting to be the best they can be as a professional with a short career & looking for a move. As long as we replace them with other ambitious players and the clubs trajectory continues on an upward trend then eventually we will be able to match the ambition of those players. Until then, we just need to accept that it’s part of the journey. -
Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
Dan Johnson replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Absolutely this. When Shaw left we had people climbing over themselves to say he was irreplaceable, yet in my eyes we got a better player for cheaper & invested the other money to progress the strength of the squad overall. If we get offered £20 million + for Clyne, as sorry as I will be to see him go, I don’t think he’s irreplaceable.
