The plate is mine. I promised it myself when we moved back to Ohio from Kentucky. Couldn't get the spacing in KY, not enough letters. Just $50 a year. Bargain!

Not as cool as the pool by any means, but I did snap this up a couple of months ago.. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/t31.0-8/10473334_10203346069865565_5331307144772469024_o.jpg

I asked the ticket guy at Romsey station and he looked at me as if I had coughed up a chicken. So, £4.20 it was. Still good value I reckon.
-
Saw a tweet saying there is supposed to be £2 train & bus tickets for the friendly tomorrow How does this work? I am over from the States and have a ticket for the match and need to travel in from Romsey. Thanks for any pointers on how to nab a cheapie train fare

As long as the Pompey Takeover Thread is still going....

"Dunno" Fox still on pitch in 2nd half...

Heads up to say that the ManUre/Saints match is live on ESPN2 & ESPN2HD this afternoon as well as ESPN Desportes (if you dig Spanish commentary)
-
Good job it was Hazard who kicked that ball boy in the ribs. Torres would have missed.

I went to the pub for the Chelsea match and was surprised that they could show it live in HD via their DirectTV feed. A bonus! A good atmosphere too wherein I was admonishing and taking the p!ss out of the Blues fans for the way their owner treated DiMatteo. That has now, of course, come back to bite me on the arse and I suspect that bar staff will dutifully mock on Monday afternoon when I go there for the Everton match.

In case nobody has noticed next Saturdays cup match -v- Chelsea is live (10:00 EST) on Fox Soccer

USA - NBC to get Prem games next season
Cincy USA replied to Rut's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
And the same NBC which threw ads in the middle of the Olympic football games, coming back, missing goals and pretending nothing happened. And the same NBC that cover half the screen with crappy promo idents for their other shows and/or sponsors etc etc etc This is really sh!t news AFAIAC and will push back the growth of the game in the USA. NBC don't give a toss about any sports event, they only care about the $$$. Nothing else matters to them. I've already seen more SFC games this season than I did the whole of last. It's great. I despise Fox (moreso Murdoch, Roger Ailes, et al) but they do know how to show 'soccer'. ESPN too. NBC will not have a clue. -
I still have my Soccerama board game. And still play it from time to time. http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/3342/soccerama

You mean like last season?

Oh yes, something along the lines of Arsenal being little more than "Southampton Lite"

Thanks for the gags - added/amended a couple of these for use this weekend. If there's any more out there, let's 'ave 'em

An American friend of mine - and a huge Ar$enal fan - is unaware that his missus is throwing him a surprise 40th birthday party later this month with hundreds of guests. There are plans to roast him - not literally of course, I can't imagine any Gooner is palatable - and I have been asked to stand up at the podium and specifically crack jokes (mostly in the worst possible taste) about Ar$enal. Given that football humour is - AFAIAC - the best humour, I'm wondering if anybody here has any sure-fire crackers I can slam him with? Your contribution is much appreciated

Can't agree more. The GOP will take America back to the dark ages quicker than we imagine. They'll pitch their rich -v- everyone else's poor and before we know it... Soylet Green
