So if Chambers keeps Clyne out for the rest of the season, and Roy has mentioned Chambers before, and Clyne is 3rd choice right back after Walker/Johnson (ignoring the Jones/Smalling impact) does that mean Chambers has a chance of going to the World Cup? Or are there other right backs who could be vying with Clyne for that spot? Micah Richards for example. I know Roy has already said he won't be taking any "new" players (barring injuries I guess), so that might kind of rule out Chambers. If Roy is determined to take a 2nd right back, and will be taking Jones/Smalling anyway, then that 2nd right back will have to be someone. Perhaps it could be between Clyne and Chambers.... who knows by the end of the season.

Dan himself is apparently still very friendly with some of the players, Lallana included, so it seems it was info from Lallana told to Dan, then onto his father-in-law. Who wasn't a Saints fan, but just loves the club after Dan's experiences with us, and was waxing lyrical about how well run we are, what a tight group of players we have, generally how much he admired the club, and the way they are using the youths etc. Doesn't make the £85k offer to Lallana true, but he was certainly telling me what he believed to be true. Very nice guy.

Lallana has been offered £85k a week at Man Utd. Dan Harding's father-in-law told me so. Don't know how without a bid made/agreed for the player, but I get the feeling that doesn't really matter these days (unofficially)

It's tremendous that the best pundit around at the moment is loving Saints, and our English core - even has so much time for the manager! And with him being able to bend the ear of the England manager, I would be amazed if Adam doesn't make the plane to Brazil. Disappointed to see Guly didn't make either of their teams though.

I expect this is what most people were expecting prior to the beginning of the season. This thread makes for some painful reading. Fox a better player than Osvaldo? Get rid of Osvaldo now after 6 starts? I'm amazed how people can watch football for years, and yet be quite happy to write a £15m player off after half a dozen games in a new club/country and not be open to giving people a chance. Bizarre.

Not sure Lovren is worth £21m just yet! Great article though - loving the attention to detail we have. Although taking mattresses to other hotels is a bit extreme. Surely we don't take 17+ mattresses away with us plus a cleaning team to every hotel we visit for every away game....?

just about the youngest England player in the U21's, but yet captaining them (2nd half), and being one of the best players too. All I keep hearing is how mature he is! I wonder what odds you can get on his captaining the full side before he is say 25... I reckon it'll happen. As good as Wilshere is, not sure he is captain material. (I would make Jones England captain now though)

Which of those Arsenal players were trained by Arsenal? Just Gibbs and Wilshere? Coz Ramsey and Jenkinson certainly weren't but I think they fulfill the "criteria" of having been at the club for three years between the ages of 15 and 21. One of those 3.5 might even be Bendtner too, which doesn't count coz he is barely a footballer. Struggling to work out who the average 3.5 per game actually are looking at their squad.

I think if Saints ended the season in a top four position, it is fair to say the vast majority of people would be shocked. At the start of the season, I got 16/1 on Saints finishing top six - put £10 on it. Considered chucking a quid on us at 250/1 for top four, but thought... why waste a pound? Not looking like such a waste currently though!

Agree. Have said multiple times before that Turkish (and others) ruin this place for the more casual users. Well, just generally probably. I saw Jason Dodd at the weekend in Ask and in IKEA. I think he had a beer in Ask too ffs and it was less than 24 since our last game! p.s I didn't see what he was drinking really.
