  1. ahh loving the post in that link from Trebor_1970, sent at 12.32, in which he reckons a mate of his may defect from supporting Saints to supporting Bournemouth instead. Apparently due to broken and unfulfilled promises coming out of the club and too many false statements... genius.
  2. Do we get to do this all over again for the 130 year celebration? And then 140? And of course something important like 150 year anniversary. Is 125 actually an important number? I don't remember celebrating my 25th birthday in any special way.
  3. He was ok as a midfield player
  4. I am another with a man crush by the way! Cortese has been nothing but magnificent for Saints so far. All the negative stuff about him is usually paper talk and rumours. No doubt from people who haven't been invited aboard the bus.

    Soup

Spicy Parsnip Soup does it for me. And why would anyone put half a boiled egg into soup? Hard boiled I presume you mean?
  6. Sounds just like an advert off the telly. You didn't anticipate there may be a cyclist behind the cars (same size as a car apparently?) and pulled out without waiting to check. You aren't the first and won't be the last, still your fault though. Shame he changed his mind though for you, but he is entitled too, making decisions spur of the moment is never geat, especially after a trauma or accident. I ride a bike occasionally, but mainly drive, and whilst I also get annoyed at cyclists, (especially when they are not using the cycle lane) I hope his insurance company screws you over for your comment about being glad he was off the road. I think you should stop raping puppies by the way too.
  7. Fatima Whitbread looked over 21 too from what I remember.
  8. hurrah for three points. I've literally just logged on here now, and still loooong loading times for pages of text. Really? Still?

  10. Shows how ridiculous football is when someone of Cortese's position can be so definite about things, and yet there is still massive speculation everywhere about Oxo leaving. I've not seen Cortese's quotes in any of the papers when they are speculating about him leaving for Arsenal or wherever. If it was another industry, people would take Cortese at his word but as its football, it is almost deemed as worthless. Still, people will start believing Cortese eventually when he is not sold.
  11. Sounds like that fat bloke who used to play for Swansea - Lee Trundle

    League One Tuesday

No interest at all in winning the league then? I wanna see us go up, and 2nd is good enough for me, well so is the playoffs, but still prefer we won the thing!
  13. blimey, are you 40 years older than him or something then?

    The ref

Can't argue with that - sitting in the Northam offsides are not my strong point!! (most of the rest of the crowd seem to have no problem identifying when people are offside though!)

    The ref

There were some boos from behind me in the Northam, which were at exactly full time so not aimed at the ref. I was in row GG so it was from right near the back of the stand. Probably only a small handful of people but I was very surprised. They obviously think we should be winning every single game ever! I didn't think the ref was that bad. Not great, but not really worth moaning about. As for the Kingsland lino, I remember one contentious decision when the ball had clearly gone out (I had a perfect view down the line) but a Notts Co player slid to try and keep it in play. He blindsided the lino with his body and legs so there was no way the lino would have any clue whether it was in or not, and the ref was too far away to tell. The crowd went nuts but if the lino can't see it, he can't flag.
  16. I thought Chamberlain was good. Notts C had 3 players booked, all on fouls on Chamberlain (not even including the penalty shout), obvious they were doing a job on him. If he gets 3 players booked everygame then you can see they are worried about him. Despite that, he still done well, as you'd expect him to be a bit cautious about getting clattered. He did run up a few blind alleys late on, but skillful quick players always will when trying to beat men, they'll do the exciting beating of men sometimes, and sometimes run straight into people and look like they are wasting the ball. I'd rather see someone trying to beat men than pass sideways all day long (though of course that works sometimes too!)
  17. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton/8255951/Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain-Southamptons-New-Walcott-is-set-for-a-very-fast-track-to-top.html Telegraph article on him too, as mentioned above by West Stand
  18. I was hoping this was going to be a poll
  19. Went to a private party upstairs in the Orange rooms a few weeks ago. They didn't have any beer on tap upstairs (it was the room round the back, not upstairs in the middle of the place) and I was told I could not go back downstairs to the main bar area as people had to pay to get into this part. Although our area had been paid for privately, didn't seem to matter. I argued my case as it was pre-10pm, so the people downstairs had not paid to get in, and it was ok up until this point, but then the bouncer who appeared watching the door at the bottom didn't let me out after 10pm. So if you hire a private room in the Orange rooms, it really is a private room and not actually in the Orange rooms at all!! Although it does have a glass window overlooking the dance floor, so you kinda feel you are in the Orange rooms!
  20. How about Leeds vs Man Utd in the FA Cup last year? (Which was even at Old Trafford) The league 1 side won by the way.
  21. confirmation on sky sports news now, he is gone.

    Friends

I'd like Deppo to be my football friend, sadly he appears to be banned now
  23. I always walk into cobwebs, even when people in front of me just walked the exact same route. I think its because I'm bald with a shaved head and I notice it more than others, but then its usually in my face, or across my eyes. And I'm not that tall either!

    Homework

My girlfiend, whom I live with, is a teacher, history at gcse, in her 3rd year since qualifying, and spends every evening marking homework and classwork and books and lesson planning, from when school finishes in her classroom, then comes home a few hours later, and ends marking at home every night of the week till at least 9pm, often 10pm if she is not asleep by then. Usually rolls over into weekends too for another 4 or 5 hours minimum. Can't say much from the kids point of views however. At her last school they didn't set homework at all (Pauls Grove in Portsmouth) and her life/work balance was much better, so a lot of it is homework marking, so presumably the kids have plenty to keep themselves busy once home.
  25. Kenwyne Jones vs Luis Boa Morte. Says Jones only played 2 games for Saints in the Prem.....
