  1. Clearly this is only happening to you.

    Dynamo

I liked it when he climbed through a glass window in front of Rio Ferdinand (and a street full of people) when hidden behind a coat. The people on the street could see exactly what he was doing though as they were on the other side of the coat, and all looked amazed. But it was obviously a trick somehow as humans clearly cannot travel through glass, so however he done it, they saw it. Still, I was impressed.
  3. Great update Brussel Saint. Nice to get some first hand interesting knowledge from those in the know.
  4. Only one person has picked up on Mr Oxfordshire_saint calling this prior to the transfer being announced by the OS. Obviously some sort of inside info. Unless he saw it in the Dutch media as mentioned by Saints-Cris 10 mins later and it was earlier than the "official" announcement. I like to think that the ITK'ers still exist though!!
  5. Ribena Light.
  6. Telling the Arabs to find sand at 11.40am?
  7. No mention of the fine then. Suppose he wouldn't if the interview was done last night and the news only broke this morning via the Echo. He obviously knew he had spoken to the nationals though. This is gonna run right up until 11.59 on the transfer window deadline, or until he leaves.
  8. I like the The Sun's story is "Exclusive" when he gave pretty much the same interview the previous day to a different reported and paper. But yeah, looks like he definitely wants to leave now and play in the Prem, no doubt about that. Disappointing. So it's now just a matter of seeing which bids come in, and whether Cortese will let him leave, and how much we end up getting for him (if a deal gets done).
  9. I grew up in and around Southampton for nigh on 28 years. Didn't even visit Portsmouth until I was mid 20's. I've now however lived in Portsmouth for the last 3 years and some parts are nicer than Southampton, some parts are worse. I am staying in Portsmouth and looking to now buy a house around the Southsea area next year (with my g/f who is also a Soton girl) and we wouldn't stay if it wasn't nice. It'll never change but Saints fans/Pompey fans will always be blinkered against their rivals cities, regardless of any facts, which is part of the football rivalry.
  10. Cork for me is a very good signing because of the intent it carries. He is clearly being signed as someone with potential to take us to, and be able to play for and excel with us in the Premiership. Lambert, Fonte, Bernard (Bernard not close for me at all) as others have mentioned were all signings made in the lower league with the intent of getting us another division, and then hopefully help us up another on top of that, but it is unlikely the majority of players you sign in League One will progress enough to be able to be good enough to be regular performers. Therefore for me, the signing of Cork excited me more than any of them, especially as there has been rumours of him signing recently and I was already hoping he would sign. So to re-iterate, my previous most exciting signing is still Prutton, because he carried a similar potential (but failed to deliver it). I also don't get the incessant NickG bashing on this issue. If he wants to be enthusiastic and exited, let him! Signings decent players is one of the most excisting aspects of following a football team. I'd be surprised if Alpine didn't get infracted for him comments, regardless of what NickG or otherwise had said previously. I like Alpine's defence though.....he started it!
  11. So now Cork has signed, and your fears are totally unfounded, can someone please start another thread about how we attract top players because Adkins is in charge. Thanks. But in all seriousness, Adkins being here was no doubt instrumental in why Cork DID sign for Saints, as he had played under him before. He may have got a chance to play in the EPL, he may have been offered more money elsewhere (we may never know if either of them are true) but it may be, similar to Nolan, that the manager was an integral part in the player choosing Saints.
  12. Reminds me of the David Prutton signing, which I was excited about at the time. Ex England Under 21 and all that. Hopefully he can continue to improve however and not stagnate like Prutton did.

    Newquay

What? ahh no way, great memories of that campsite!! By the way, don't take any inflatable penis' with you when visiting Newquay http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-world/2011/06/28/newquay-police-target-inflatable-sex-toy-rowdiness-115875-23231527/
  14. My missus is a teacher. She works virtually every night when she gets home, and usually weekends too, various hours, and often falls alseep literally whilst working. Her holidays are well deserved, as I am sure many teachers are. I would not want to be a teacher myself because of the long working hours and because of the lack of respect from the sh1tty little secondary school kids. The holidays might appeal, but I don't chose a job based on the amount of holiday available. And for Thursday, her Union isn't striking so only certain years are coming to school, so she only has a couple of classes, and it'll be dvd time... waste of a day all round for her and the kids coming in then!
  15. sigh So loans will be banned? Wow, where do you get your info from?
  16. Well this thread went t1ts up didn't it?

    Deppo

Does that mean someone actually reported it though in the first place? Or did a mod (or Baj) just see it themselves and infract him?
  18. Johnny Evans is on that list. Would no one want him? Really?
  19. I'm sure you mean do in the case of Fabregas... (though I thought I heard the other day they only had £40m to spend in total this summer, so perhaps they don't) Anyway, I think we should stop talking about OxO leaving until the next paper rumour surfaces
  20. OxO was excellent against Man Utd. Not in a gut busting sprinting past the full back kind of way, but his intelligence with the ball, against one of the best teams in the world, was amazing for a 17 year old. He always made correct decisions and clearly, as Man Utd have been linked with him since we played them, they obviously think he had a decent game too. And why does everyone think we are going to have £12m to spend? If you believe the Mirror story (and I don't, one "source" is not enough to believe a story like this, especially when as mentioned by others, it was a done deal in January too and never happened) then surely you believe everything that is written in the Mirror, such as this part... "The deal for the Southampton academy graduate - seen as the new Theo Walcott, also a former Saint - is understood to be based on achievements and appearances." So that will probably be £5 up front, with £7m based on future achievements. I'm gonna wait till its on the OS to believe its a done deal. Does no one learn from the way business is ran now that press speculation is generally wildly inaccurate when it comes to Saints in the Cortese era.

and to think Deppo got banned for taking threads off topic.

    Deppo

I miss Deppo. I have stated numerous times before how he was my favourite poster. I am sad. Getting a permanent ban for what he has done (!) is ridiculous. Imagine a child at school getting excluded for repeatedly talking in class and being slightly disruptive. Stupid decision.
  23. This post is more appropriate (not that either of them schools were tough either!)
  24. I went to Noadswood in the early 90's and can completely disagree with this statement!
  25. Technically yes but compared to everyone else, he has played all the previous season at a lower level (aside from the Huddersfield loanee) Professor's point was that he won't receive a full rest over the summer because he'll be playing more football. Nothing to do with AOC's reputation being enhanced or anything transfer related. Did any of you even read his post?
