Like I said above, his resources weren’t great but the high line and constant press with Vest and Bertrand in defence was a error from the manager. He was too stubborn last season in my mind.
-
This is a good point too, competition for places makes a big difference.
-
The biggest difference this season for me are the options available to Ralph. It would have been difficult for any manager last season but I did feel Ralph didn’t do anything to really change things when we started to struggle. Although his options were very limited I felt he could have tried to do something different with what he did have, just anything. I think Ralph is a decent manager but his style of play needs a decent squad more than 11/12 players, not just injuries but fatigue. The players we did have available last season were knackered or being rushed back from injuries. The lack of recovery pace from Bertrand and Vest. Didn’t help with our style either. As boring as it might have been something like a low block and play more on the counter. Happy with what I have seen from Ralph so far this season, the defence is a load better and with time I hope to see us develop our attacking play too.

Yep, today’s game should be a good indicator of where we are with getting promoted. Competition we could win too, knock Ipswich out and we must be the favourites if the northern section is not as strong. Not sure why it’s now only round 1 as we beat Cheltenham in the last round.

The bit near the end where Watkins backed in to Salisu, he held him there and as soon as Watkins got the ball under control, he stuck is leg around Watkins and toed it sideways to Romeo. Brilliant!

Great first half, would have been nice to get more goals bit like Watford. Villa were always going to be better second half, first 10 things weren’t looking good but Ralph made the change and got it back to pretty even. Top save from the Adams header, Moi should have slipped in Armstrong and the foul on Armstrong when he heads through, good opportunities in the second half. Last season we were screaming for Ralph to make the kind of changes he made today, with personnel and formation. Ralph has reacted better in game this year, think this is more a result of the options he has from the bench. All three subs affected the game and the change in formation changed the balance of the game in our favour. 5 clean sheets is great, we drop points last season in a fair few of the games we have held on this season. Norwich next, win that and 17 points with 7 more games to the half way point. Just to add, Tino had is worst game today, he wasn’t dreadful but did make a few mistakes and not as threatening going forward but he is 18! For the rest of his career, If he plays 10 games like he has and then has today as his bad one, it’s going to be a good career.

Club have done well to get this squad together with the money, lack of money, we have had. Crocker is the main addition to that team. This team is better at the back than last season, has a forward threat down both flanks, much more balance to our play. We, so far, have lacked the finishing we had with Ings but Broja has looked good and I liked what I saw from Armstrong today, 5 decent attempts just needs to find the finish. Add to the young first team players, Small and Simeu and there is a clear change in the type of player we are bringing in both in profile and quality. Got to think Crocker has had a big input on that front, hope it continues.

This is painful!! -
Great performance but was disappointed we couldn’t get that second goal. Good showing from the whole team, only Moi was quiet and he was rightly the man to be substituted. Tino, wow again, only 18! KWP very good too. All their danger came down our right but he still managed to get forward well. Like what I saw from Adam Armstrong today, finishing still a bit off, would like to have seen at least one of those chances on target but the rest of his play was good. Much more depth this year, even Lyanco now looks an option after Tuesdays performance. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

…and they could fix that for very little money and make a massive difference.
-
They basically said, at this level there is not enough interest. When they get promoted, they will step up the coverage accordingly.

Stop re writing my e-mail!😂 Despite disbelief from some, as a life long saints fan, my daughter loves saints too but she is much more drawn to the woman’s team, she doesn’t care what league they are in. If it’s women’s football girls are drawn to I would hate for her to go and support Chelsea or Arsenal because of the woman’s team.

Pretty much what I said.

Well, I’m sure only a great mind like yourself could have come up with that summary. I’ve been waiting in the wings for 15 years! ‘Resident weirdos’. The irony, the lack of self awareness!! I have posted over the years but tend to post when I am interested in the topic or have a question, you should try it. The fact that small minded posters like you infect every single thread on this forum means that every person ends up commenting on your benign posts. My daughter is fine, thanks for asking. You obviously don’t have children or you’re a very poor father. Thanks for your interest.

They did tell me that big plans are in place re coverage should the women get promotion to the championship.
-
I wrote to the club a few weeks back asking if they could look at ways to increase the coverage. Pointed out that there were not even updates on Twitter. Maybe they listened!!😂😂
-
Well, that would make sense but why not put out any info? The coverage from the club really is poor.
-
He is definitely very special. I ask myself what he gets out of it but I always come back to dumb people are easily entertained. I don’t get why my 7 year old likes doing certain things, think it must be a bit like that.
-
What is wrong with this guy? Cleary has utter disdain for the subject of this thread yet still has to infect it with all this benign bullsh!t. Any grown ups know anything?
-
Could it be a COVID situation? Our last two games have been cancelled. Can’t think of any other reason for such late changes with no explanation. My little one is very upset, they are not doing very well promoting the women’s team with youngsters, hope she doesn’t lose interest.
-
Anyone have any idea what is happening with the women’s team? I come down to stay with family and take my daughter to the Pompey game today and it seems to have been cancelled. Not listing the game on the site anymore and Pompey listed to play someone else. My daughter is very upset, she has been looking forward to this so much. It’s very annoying that games seem to be cancelled without any info.

Not just a great goal in a nothing game either. Albania won 1-0 and are second in a tight chase for second place. Great goal in a massive game.
-
Thanks, that’s the one. Didn’t know how to post the video on here. I seem to remember someone going through on goal and chipping the keeper from outside the box and the ball stopping in the mud on the goal line. I remember it being TW anyone got anything on this?

Taken over an hour for the SFC site to get the score up. The rest of the info is all over the place. They have Ipswich on +9 goal difference but they Won 11-2 yesterday! BBC info all over the place too. They have yet to list the scores but updated the table giving us only 1 point for today’s game! Hope as the season goes on the info gets better. My little girl is more engaged by the women than the men and it doesn’t help that engagement if we can’t get any info on the games.

Saints won 5-0. back top on goal difference. The two games against Ipswich are going to define the season. Saints P6 W6 GD +30 Ipswich P6 W6 GD +24 Pretty impressive start from both teams.
